“I just went to eat here for lunch on a Saturday to have sushi and I had the best experience. The food was great and the servers were very nice especially a really nice girl named Julia she made my dining experience so much better she was very nice and very attentive when serving she brought me water napkins and I didn’t even have to ask for anything. “My family and I stopped here after a movie and really enjoyed it. It was late on a Monday, so it was empty and got seated immediately. The atmosphere is open, with high ceilings and an outside patio. There isn't loads of seating, but a decent amount. I could imagine there being a wait if it's a busy day.
Service was friendly and checked on us a regular amount. We didn't even feel pushed out, even though we stayed close to closing.
I've never been to another SilverLake Ramen, but I really enjoyed it. I liked how the chicken was in grilled strips, that was probably my favorite part. I got the Classic one, but next time I'd try something spicier. My mom got the veggie one and really enjoyed the variety, and my dad got the chicken broth one which he found tasty but unique, because it's not common for Ramen to be made with a clear chicken broth.
Overall we really enjoyed our meal and would go again to try more items!“

“We are vegan and went with the Spicy Miso Ramen, it didn't disappoint. One suggestion, if you want the extra spice kick, ask for their chili oil, it really amped up the ramen overall.
Our kid enjoyed the mushroom bao too.

For parking, you can get lucky by finding a street parking behind the restaurant.“

“This was easily one of the best ramen experiences I've had in Southern California. The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful without being overly salty, and the noodles had the perfect texture. The restaurant itself was spotless, modern, and had a welcoming atmosphere that made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. The staff checked on our table frequently and made excellent recommendations. I especially appreciated how quickly the food arrived despite the restaurant being busy. Every ingredient tasted fresh, and the presentation was beautiful. “If you've ever been to Ichiran, this is a very similar experience. You get a menu card to fill out what you want while you wait for a table to be available. I'm just going to get it out of the way, the ramen is fantastic. Get the original tonkotsu broth you WON'T regret it. The karage chicken was a solid 4/5 I'd get it again but I've had better. My only gripe with the whole experience was that it was fairly cold outside and we were sitting right next to the open door. Other than that, I definitely recommend this place, I'll be coming back for sure.“

Food: on the recommendation of our server, who was very helpful, knowledgable, friendly, and attentive, we ordered the Takoyaki and our server's favourite Spicy Garlic Pork Shoyu Ramen x 2. The latter was described as a "spicy soy sauce tonkatsu broth with garlic is served with two slices of chashu pork, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, egg, fried onions, seaweed, green onions, and buttered corn". I absolutely love ramen, and, to me, what defines any bowl is the soup base, described by a very learned chef as "an intensely porky, opaque pale broth with a sticky-lipped intensity, with the rich, buttery texture of light cream; the best sports tiny nubbins of fat swimming around on their surface, a slick of mayu (black garlic oil) or chile-sesame paste, a handful of thin-sliced green onions, a soft-yolked soy-sauce tinged egg, and a few slices of meltingly tender chashu pork belly". The broth definitely reflected the events described, and the many hours spent in preparation, with a rich texture and flavour, complemented, but not over-powered by either the chili nor the garlic. It was a wonderful recommendation that we would order again! All in all, the evening that left us very satisfied in terms of having our hunger sated, and taste buds quite happy... the true test is whether we return, and, should we find ourselves back in the city, we would most definitely make a return trip to try other dishes!!“

“Incredible Spicy Inferno Ramen and karaage. Flavours were powerful and the spicy mayo sauce of the karaage was a wonderful pairing. Topped off with a Yuzu Mojito which was soothing and refreshing for the palette.

Torisoba Tonsho fulfilled all three of those metrics with flying

“My friend and I came to DTLA Ramen late Monday afternoon in order to wait out the traffic and have an early dinner, and lucky for us, we got in on the last hour of Happy Hour (weekdays 3pm-6pm), so we got $2 off our Ramen and $1 off our salted Edamame.

The Edamame was pretty good, although not too out of the ordinary even with the salt.

Our Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, however, was savory, albeit not that spicy even though my friend got the Spicy (she rated it 4/10 in spiciness) ) and I got the Extra Spicy (6/10 in spiciness). So if you love it even hotter, don't be afraid to ask for even more heat.

The Chashu pork slices were nicely thick and charred, soaking up the broth while maintaining just enough crispiness. Both the broth and the noodle were also thick and delicious, giving you plenty of flavor with every slurp.

If there was something I felt lacking, it would be to have a bit more flair to the taste, since everything is a little one note and not a lot of depth and texture in the flavor. But that's OK, it was tasty as it was so we still ended up satisfied!“

“So , I decided to rate four stars. Solely based on the fact that the food was great . The staff were freindly and greet you upon arrival. The place was great . We even received a little gift after we left. The only concern my freinds and I had was the quality of the bathroom for the women. My freind had told me that the bathroom smelled of mildew , the soap dispenser was broken , the Dyson hand dryer was also broken and, the sink requires almost two people to have the water running. You need to hold down a button in order for the water to run and if you didnt keep your hands on the button the water would shut off. Its like those that you push and the water stays running for a few seconds . Other than that I would visit again .“

“Been wanting to try this place for a couple years now. Glad we finally did. Excellent food, much better than any Jinya Ramen. We had a bunch of appetizers. Indeed, their Takoyaki was amazing, Howard Yang! 😍 We had 2 seasonal specials, the Spicy Crispy Shrimp Roll and the cold Tan Tan ramen. Both were fantastic, albeit a bit too spicy for me. Service is super friendly. We will definitely be back. Want to try a bunch of other things, including the hot ramens.“

We first discovered this restaurant through online ordering during the start of the Covid pandemic. Every time we ordered here since then, the food and service have always been consistent. Ramen Izakaya is great from take out or dine with a plethora of beverage options as well as eats. Available through doordashz grubhub and ubereats this small chain biz has an incredible creamy vegan ramen, spicy lemon grass ramen, veggie spring rolls, tofu nuggets, shishito peppers, edamame, rice bowls, salads, soups and lots of traditional Japanese and ramen dishes that will please your taste buds times two. They have some decent outdoor seating, but incredibly indoor and a huge parking lot in back. The service is always good and usually very personable. “Daikokuya Annex is a convenient little stop in Little Tokyo, especially when the main Daikokuya next door has a long wait. The Annex is more casual and quick-service focused, with ramen, rice bowls, and Onigiri Sun operating inside. The official listing describes it as Daikokuya’s takeout-oriented location, while Onigiri Sun serves handmade rice balls using Japanese rice and seaweed.

The setup almost feels like it could also function as a prep or production space for the larger operation, although I could not confirm whether it is officially their central kitchen. If they are able to prepare some of Daikokuya’s soup or other items here while also running a separate quick-service business, that would honestly be a very smart use of the space.

The onigiri itself was good, but unfortunately I forgot to take a picture before eating it. There are quite a few filling options, and it works well as either a snack or a quick, simple meal. The service was fast and straightforward, which is exactly what I wanted at the time.

This is probably not the place I would choose for the full Daikokuya ramen experience, but it is a very practical option when you do not want to wait in the line next door. Four stars for convenience, quick service, and a smart concept.“

The extra portion of noodles was so generous that we easily shared it between three people.
