“I stopped in on a rainy afternoon and placed my order at 1:15 PM. Unfortunately, I wasn’t informed when my food was ready, and it ended up sitting there without me realizing. It would have been nice if someone had let me know. Clear communication would have made the experience much better.“

“I took a friend to the AYCE dinner. It was a busy Friday night. I had to park after dropping off my companion so I don't know how bad the wait was for our table but there were lots of people waiting. Once I sat down to the menu, I noticed that prices rose in the last year. The staff were attentive and helpful.

We ordered a large amount of sushi, mostly rolls with some sashimi. Food started arriving quickly and continued for a while. The variety of sauces on the different rolls surprised my taste buds. Dinner was great! We finished off with a matcha macaron.“

“My family and I stopped here after a movie and really enjoyed it. It was late on a Monday, so it was empty and got seated immediately. The atmosphere is open, with high ceilings and an outside patio. There isn't loads of seating, but a decent amount. I could imagine there being a wait if it's a busy day.
Service was friendly and checked on us a regular amount. We didn't even feel pushed out, even though we stayed close to closing.
I've never been to another SilverLake Ramen, but I really enjoyed it. I liked how the chicken was in grilled strips, that was probably my favorite part. I got the Classic one, but next time I'd try something spicier. My mom got the veggie one and really enjoyed the variety, and my dad got the chicken broth one which he found tasty but unique, because it's not common for Ramen to be made with a clear chicken broth.
Overall we really enjoyed our meal and would go again to try more items!“

“I went to the Tonchin location in New York late last year, so I came into the Los Angeles location excited and with high expectations. The food was good overall. My wife did not quite understand the hype around it, but I personally thought it was solid, even though it did not stand out as much as the New York location.

Where the difference between the two locations stood out the most was in customer service. We had to wait nearly twenty minutes just to receive the check, and throughout the meal the server rarely came by to check on us. Because of this, the overall experience at the Los Angeles location fell short of what I experienced in New York.

I do recommend the regular tonkotsu ramen and the buns“

“Visiting from out of town, and happened to have dinner here. I liked that the place was easy to find, and had lots of parking. The service was top notch! Very attentive, quick, and friendly! Hubby had the lime and chili ramen and really enjoyed it. It was very flavorful. I had the yakisoba noodles with pork. The pork was lovely and well cooked. Very tender! But, for me, the sauce on the noodles was really heavy on vinegar. I was expecting/wanting a more savory/umami flavor. They were way too sour for my taste. I’m certain that there would have been a lot of other menu items I would have enjoyed! I wish I’d tried their miso ramen instead of the yakisoba.“

“Easily the best vegan ramen I’ve ever had. It has a really rich, savory broth, which is a nice change of pace since vegan broth is usually a watered down afterthought at most places. It comes fully loaded with mushrooms and hashbrowns (??!?) but you can add additional veggies or an egg if youre feeling it. Very simple menu but they execution is 1000/10!“

“Ambiance: a bright, clean, nicely adorned establishment, with a striking painting as a feature wall...the wait and serving staff definitely contributed to the overall ambiance... Service: as with the many other reviewers, our experience was very similar with respect to the service, as our server was knowledgeable, friendly, competent, helpful, and attentive...did I say friendly...definitely one of the elements we will take away from the evening... Food: on the recommendation of our server, who was very helpful, knowledgable, friendly, and attentive, we ordered the Takoyaki and our server's favourite Spicy Garlic Pork Shoyu Ramen x 2. The latter was described as a "spicy soy sauce tonkatsu broth with garlic is served with two slices of chashu pork, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, egg, fried onions, seaweed, green onions, and buttered corn". I absolutely love ramen, and, to me, what defines any bowl is the soup base, described by a very learned chef as "an intensely porky, opaque pale broth with a sticky-lipped intensity, with the rich, buttery texture of light cream; the best sports tiny nubbins of fat swimming around on their surface, a slick of mayu (black garlic oil) or chile-sesame paste, a handful of thin-sliced green onions, a soft-yolked soy-sauce tinged egg, and a few slices of meltingly tender chashu pork belly". The broth definitely reflected the events described, and the many hours spent in preparation, with a rich texture and flavour, complemented, but not over-powered by either the chili nor the garlic. It was a wonderful recommendation that we would order again! All in all, the evening that left us very satisfied in terms of having our hunger sated, and taste buds quite happy... the true test is whether we return, and, should we find ourselves back in the city, we would most definitely make a return trip to try other dishes!!“

“Incredible Spicy Inferno Ramen and karaage. Flavours were powerful and the spicy mayo sauce of the karaage was a wonderful pairing. Topped off with a Yuzu Mojito which was soothing and refreshing for the palette.

Also the staff (Stella and Min) made us feel welcome right from the start.“

“I was a JA kid in the 80s and 90s. After CYC basketball games and Tamiya Mini 4WD races, my family would head to the third floor of Yaohan and enjoy the great flavors of Hana-Ichimonme. “So , I decided to rate four stars. Solely based on the fact that the food was great . The staff were freindly and greet you upon arrival. The place was great . We even received a little gift after we left. The only concern my freinds and I had was the quality of the bathroom for the women. My freind had told me that the bathroom smelled of mildew , the soap dispenser was broken , the Dyson hand dryer was also broken and, the sink requires almost two people to have the water running. You need to hold down a button in order for the water to run and if you didnt keep your hands on the button the water would shut off. Its like those that you push and the water stays running for a few seconds . Other than that I would visit again .“

“I recently tried Kyoto Paitan Ramen last week and Curry Ramen this week at this spot. The Kyoto Paitan Ramen was good, but I was really impressed by the Curry Ramen. It wasn’t very spicy, but it was packed with flavor. I prefer thicker noodles, so I’d love to see that option next time. Overall, a great experience!“

“Been wanting to try this place for a couple years now. Glad we finally did. Excellent food, much better than any Jinya Ramen. We had a bunch of appetizers. Indeed, their Takoyaki was amazing, Howard Yang! 😍 We had 2 seasonal specials, the Spicy Crispy Shrimp Roll and the cold Tan Tan ramen. Both were fantastic, albeit a bit too spicy for me. Ramen Izakaya is great from take out or dine with a plethora of beverage options as well as eats. Available through doordashz grubhub and ubereats this small chain biz has an incredible creamy vegan ramen, spicy lemon grass ramen, veggie spring rolls, tofu nuggets, shishito peppers, edamame, rice bowls, salads, soups and lots of traditional Japanese and ramen dishes that will please your taste buds times two. They have some decent outdoor seating, but incredibly indoor and a huge parking lot in back. The service is always good and usually very personable. A unique Japanese cuisine eatery with some LA Valley flavor and modern plant-based flare.“

“Yummy Onigiri! Great for a light meal. The eel was tasty and there was the right balance of rice. I thought the spicy tuna was like that found in a poke place but it was more like the tuna you would use in a tuna fish sandwich. Still good though.“
