“There remain so few small businesses in today's cities and towns, and it is not only because of the dominance of large brands. The type of personable service and quality sales that our parents were able to expect have declined for a variety of other reasons. This is why locations such as Handy Market, Pinocchio's, and Monte Carlo Deli shine so bright. They offer great products and great service in a great atmosphere. The latter two of these three businesses share a location a little closer to Burbank's city center, though still on the quaint (albeit car-heavy) Magnolia Boulevard. Pinocchio's is an unpretentious Italian eatery, while Monte Carlo offers a variety, both culinary and financial, of locally-made as well as imported food and kitchen products. Great gelato, cannoli (though the ricotta needs to be drained for longer to make a firmer filling), breads, and more.“

“We had to ask for chopsticks twice even though my friend is Asian! If you get curry noodles, wear your napkin as a bib: I had to run home and spot my white shirt. The beef was delectably tender and the fried tofu crispy, but I'd recommend a vegetable dish if you want more than meat, carbohydrates, and sauce it your meal. Great flavor either way!“

“As a vegan for 20 years the Kale Caesar salad is one of best I’ve ever had and highly recommend. Ask for the buffalo sauce which goes great with the vegan chicken cutlets!

This is also a great place to bring your bicycle and has one of the best bike racks in all of Burbank!“

“I was pleasantly surprised with this sushi restaurant. It's a more casual dining concept from the owners of Sushi Roku and Katana. The decor is simple, modern, and located on a corner with a small parking lot.

The sushi was fresh and the rolls had additional toppings like jalapeño and fried shallots that enhances the flavors very well. I also love that the sets include edamame and a salad that helps get my veggie fix in.

The servers were helpful explaining the menu and were quick to get our orders. It would be a great place for a quick sushi lunch when you're in the area!“

Parking: Parking is difficult. There is limited street parking but check the signs as a good portion of the dead end street is permit only. There is a small lot that is usually full with people waiting.“

“This is my favorite Veggie Grill location in LA because the parking is easy. Lately the app has been offering discounts and freebies over the past year that is helpful. My favorite things to order from Veggie Grill are the burgers and nachos. They have gluten free buns which is nice.

“First of all, whole wheat bagels you’re available here. My favorite is the whole wheat sesame toasted and dressed traditionally with lox, cream cheese, tomato, red onion and capers. A Saturday tradition with me. Highly recommended.“

The broth had a lot of flavor. The place is really nice for a date (not first date as ramen is difficult to eat haha). Waiters are really nice.“

“Overall, we liked this place and would go back. Negatives would be the ambiance could be improved. Also, the Minestrone soup on the menu is fair at best and the soup cup as a starter is way to large. The positives are the food was outstanding as was the service. The appetizers were also amazing. They deserve 10 stars. The atmosphere is excellent, but I give them 4 stars because I don't want readers to believe that they are coming to a high-end, expensive restaurant. It is not, it's a mom-and-pop place, and that's even better for me. I feel at home.“

“I have been coming to this restaurant for 10 years. People are so nice. It's family owned atmosphere is nice. The food is great. Clean nice food if you're looking for authentic original food. This is where to come.

Parking: Lunch time is busy, but you can find parking on tge street.“

Prepared on the spot for you with only fresh oil and ingredients, unlike those overpriced reheated ones that we've all made the mistakes of pulling out from the heat lamps while attending numerous events and family outings throughout the years. They proudly post their "A" Public Health & Safety rating. These are quite affordable. A pack of 10 (8-inch) Churros for $18 can't be beat. They also have various dipping cups and mobile pay methods as well.“

“We were having trouble deciding where to eat while we were in this area because there are so many options. We ended up eating here, and I think that ended up being a great choice.
Even though it looked busy, we were still seated very quickly. We expected a two-seater outside in the heat but were instead given a nice booth inside. Already off to a great start!
Our server (I believe her name was Rochelle?) was amazing and attentive and had great energy.
We ordered a couple cocktails which were both great. Tasty but still had some kick to them.
Then we shared a grilled cheese dipper, Santa Barbara chicken sandwich, and a plate of skirt steak. All of it came out quickly and cooked properly. I can't say anything bad about the place, so I'd happily come back again next time we are in the area.“

“First time here and we really enjoyed our experience! The outdoor feel and music reminded me of almost the swim up bar scene at our favorite Mexican resort. The staff is beyond friendly and attentive - felt so well taken care of. We got the mixed fajitas that comes with beans and rice, cubano and fried yuca fries. Make sure for the yuca you ask for the special garlic sauce - it’s a game changer. Great crowd and for summer Friday nights I can’t think of anything better!“

“First time at this bar, I had the pleasure of meeting Charles, he was awesome! From the moment we stepped in to the very end of our meal we had a great time! We came during happy hour and tried the tequila bang and the mango margarita which was refreshing and delicious. We had the opportunity of trying their smash burger on happy hour which is a bummer because it was their last day serving this dish on happy hour. And of course we had the Mac and cheese.
