“My boyfriend and I stopped here to get a bag of Philly pretzels. I’ve been to west coast pretzels, about the time they opened years ago. The owner was so welcoming and funny! He helped me decide what to get and recommended a restaurant to us for breakfast. (The restaurant was a good idea!) I wish I lived closer to west coast pretzels!“

I've been to and ordered from El Cocinero more times than I can count.

Supporting them from the month they open until infinity and beyond! Papas a la bestia/loaded beast fries and their Super Burrito being among my go-to favorites.

Al Pastor, Jackfruit Asada, Chicharron, and Birria are my top recommends for protein, especially in a taco, torta or burrito.

From nachos to nacho fries, mulitas, quesadillas, flan, elote, pozole, bowls, tacos y mas... They have quite a bit to fall in love with.

Seating inside is limited and stays busy, but you can luck into a spot with some patience.

Order on the right side and pickup on the right. They do offer third-party delivery via UberEats, DoorDash, etc.

There is plenty of parking in a shared strip mall plaza just next to the CVS at Sepulveda Blvd / Edwin Street.

“I went late at night and there was ample parking in their lot. It has some of the best ambiance with a cozy fire pit outside and comfortable seating inside. The service was friendly and quick. We got a lentil loaf, nachos and cookie dough cheesecake. Despite that I've always loved their nachos, I actually liked the lentil loaf the best! It has a sweet sauce on top and a hearty texture. I love the creaminess and decadence of the dessert and how it still feels healthy!

The MOTHERLOAD a nice combo plate to try other items in one; the tofu scramble, za’atar potatoes and biscuits were awesome.

The HOT SHROOMS were awesome wish we got the house made bread but we didn’t ?

The REALLY GOOD SALAD was nice only wish was it was a bit colder to give it a refreshing kick

Definitely down to try the pasta and pizza. It seems like majority of people dining. We’re getting the pizza.

Ambience was nice and clean from the bathrooms to the overall restaurant dishes are picked up pretty quickly and tables are cleaned

Onion rings ($9.95) - huge portions, large onion rings, batter is flakey, baked, crispy rather than the usual deep fried onion ring texture

Green curry fried rice ($12 happy hour price) - you pick from your choice of protein (we got tofu which was seasoned really well). I'd say it's more of the sticky rice variety rather than the dryer fried rice that you may expect.

Chicken and pancakes ($15.95) - vegan girlfriend said this was the best vegan pancake she's ever had! The fruits shown in the picture come at an additional cost.“

“We visited Cara restaurant for my birthday, and it was such a lovely, cozy spot! The ambiance was perfect, and the staff were all very polite and attentive, which made our experience enjoyable. We started with the caramelized Brussels sprouts, oysters, and truffle fries. The oysters were incredibly fresh and definitely stood out, while the Brussels sprouts and truffle fries were decent, though nothing extraordinary. For drinks, we tried the Cactus and the Cali, and both were fantastic! We really enjoyed them. Our main course was the chicken shawarma. The flavor was okay, but we felt the presentation could have been better. Overall, Cara is a nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. We're looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes!“
