“In San Fernando on business. Decided to have dinner while waiting for traffic to die down a bit. Doing a search Carbon Grill sounded good. When we got there we were the only customers. Nice little place but other reviews suggested something else and parking for some reason was non existent. Had to park two blocks away! Good menu and prices were fair for these times. Food took a bit long even though it was only us. That is a good thing since it means freshly cooked. Ordered a burger, salads and fried Yucca. Good meal overall. Clean place with outdoor patio along with inside tables. Only complaint was too much plastic used for this level of dining.“

“We’ve lived in Glendale for many years where kabobs are a dime a dozen, however Hamlet’s kitchen has some of the best Lula around. The plates come with rice, lavash, a pepper, onions and sometimes tomato and the portions are enough to share between two people. They only accept cash and the prices are a little steep, but the food is always excellent. Some note the staff to be rude, but I’m guessing that’s the language barrier vs them purposely being rude, our experiences and interactions have been pleasant.“

“Unfortunately, not quite what it used to be. My wife and I stopped in for lunch. I hadn't been the Bear Pit in probably 6 to 7 years....new booths, new menus. Same atmosphere. I ordered the BBQqed beef sandwich. Not the same smoked flavor, and the meat was tough. No longer give you the dill spears or the pickled carrots,and peppers. Their sauce is very runny. Service was excellent ...not sure I'll be back anytime soon. My first visit was in the early 1960's. I guess all good things must come to an end 😒“

“After the 4th restaurant in Tujunga failed to make good Shawarma, I thought I would have to drive all the way to Glendale for the only good Shawarma I know, that I get from a food truck. I didn't know Shawarma House existed until today. The dine in place is nice and spacious, the service was kind, and for the first time in Tujunga that I know of, this a restaurant that didn't serve dry wraps with no garnishes.“

The Pickles are really good, you can just about eat them by themselves as I did on the drive home. This is just about as close to TX BBQ that I've had around these parts and a lot better than the closest Chain. Only thing missing are some Onions, different BBQ sauces (ex. “This place is under New Management for about three months and the new owners are super friendly. The atmosphere is great. The food is delicious. My favorite is the chicken Lula kebab wrap. If you get the plate, you can ask for hummus on the side or extra tomato sauce. In the plate, you get some Mediterranean style rice with your choice of meat on top.“

“honestly i loved this place. we got the kalbi and it was super tender with that perfect char on the outside. the side dishes kept coming and i couldnt stop eating the kimchi, it was so good. my wife got the galbi jjim and she didnt say a word until her plate was clean. im already thinking about when we can come back next.“
