“In San Fernando on business. Decided to have dinner while waiting for traffic to die down a bit. Doing a search Carbon Grill sounded good. When we got there we were the only customers. Nice little place but other reviews suggested something else and parking for some reason was non existent. Had to park two blocks away! Good menu and prices were fair for these times. Food took a bit long even though it was only us. That is a good thing since it means freshly cooked. Ordered a burger, salads and fried Yucca. Good meal overall. Clean place with outdoor patio along with inside tables. Only complaint was too much plastic used for this level of dining.“

“This was unexpectedly phenomenal. I’ve driven past here for years never noticing it tucked away. So glad we went. The woman working the register who I think may be the owner was so nice and the food was the best meal I’ve had in a while. The spicy pork teriyaki was insane. My gf’s chicken was phenomenal. “The food was amazing. Got the crispy shawarma with chicken and I was taken for a ride to flavor city. Idk what wizardry they did in the kitchen but I was hooked at the first bite.

The crispy shawarma with beef was pretty good too. It is cooked with a little lamb fat, so it was slightly gamey. Not really what I like, but if you like lamb then you'll probably really like the beef.

I also got a chicken thigh plate. It's your standard chicken plate that you'd get at Mediterranean places. Char on the chicken tasted great as well as the chicken itself. I'm not usually the biggest fan of hummus but the hummus here tasted better than other places.

Next time I'd probably just get one crispy shawarma chicken. It's pretty filling. Can't wait to come again!“

“We’ve lived in Glendale for many years where kabobs are a dime a dozen, however Hamlet’s kitchen has some of the best Lula around. The plates come with rice, lavash, a pepper, onions and sometimes tomato and the portions are enough to share between two people. They only accept cash and the prices are a little steep, but the food is always excellent. Some note the staff to be rude, but I’m guessing that’s the language barrier vs them purposely being rude, our experiences and interactions have been pleasant.“

“After the 4th restaurant in Tujunga failed to make good Shawarma, I thought I would have to drive all the way to Glendale for the only good Shawarma I know, that I get from a food truck. I didn't know Shawarma House existed until today. The dine in place is nice and spacious, the service was kind, and for the first time in Tujunga that I know of, this a restaurant that didn't serve dry wraps with no garnishes.“

The Pickles are really good, you can just about eat them by themselves as I did on the drive home. This is just about as close to TX BBQ that I've had around these parts and a lot better than the closest Chain. Only thing missing are some Onions, different BBQ sauces (ex. She even gave out peanut butter cookies while we waited. Bring your patience as this is a small-scale (lean) food-service establishment.I spent $30 for 2 half orders of gumbo and jambalaya ($10 each), and 3 sides. I probably could have saved a few dollars if I ordered a veggie plate. It was a little pricey for the portion sizes. I charge it to the gumbo and jambalaya which was $10 each and served in 8oz containers. I usually pay $8 for 12oz or 16oz of soup.On a positive note, I got to sample the menu. I know what I like and don’t like. I don’t expect to like every menu item at any restaurant. Bottomline, I will go again.“
