Her fingers moved like liquid gold on the keyboard and her compositions were witty and mesmerizing. The word that kept coming to mind as they performed was "subtle." The music was powerful, but so discrete as to be gentle and gentile. Woodwinds, Bass, and Drums - all played with the kind of delight that makes everyone love the performers as well as the music. As for food, one dish stood out particularly: the creamed spinach with blue cheese. Please tell Chef I would love that recipe! I'm back home in Tennessee now and plan to attempt to copy it, but having the authentic recipe to serve to friends when we entertain would be over the top! “I’ve been to Bacari a bunch of times, but brought a friend yesterday for her first visit and it was easily our best experience yet. Our server Sara was awesome—super attentive, a great listener, and just made the whole night special.
The food was totally on point. The crispy schnitzel and the shawarma tacos (perfect meat-to-slaw ratio) were highlights, and the Asian pear pizza 😋 was amazing. The only tiny thing was the pistachio sfoglia was a little bit overdressed with the sweet cream, but still good.
My friend loved her cocktails, and as a mocktail drinker, kudos to the bartender. The mocktail dirty martini (Salt n Solace) was PERFECT. The Botanica was good too, just a bit too sweet for me (next time I'll just ask to swap the tonic for club soda).
Bacari is always a great spot to hang out, but yesterday was exceptional. Thank you Sara for taking such good care of us!“

“First thing first, the sushi is really fresh. We got the toro, salmon belly, and the yellowtail belly. Saba is a little fishy. The rice is a bit mushy but good enough.

The cooked food is not as great. The agedashi tofu has too much breading and taste average. Kaiju tar tar is okayyy.

The service however took forever, and they never come to check up on us. Servers reach over to get dishes for other tables. Maybe they are short staffed but they should still handle us probably.“

“I had an excellent lunch at Sushi Yuzu. The restaurant has a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere, and everything I ordered tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

I started with the tuna sampler, which was beautifully presented and offered several different cuts and preparations of tuna. Each one had its own distinct flavor and texture, and the quality of the fish really stood out. It was a great way to sample the restaurant’s sushi and a perfect start to lunch.

The highlight, though, was the spicy tuna crispy rice. The rice was crisp and golden on the outside without being overly hard or greasy, while the spicy tuna was fresh, flavorful, and nicely balanced. It had just enough heat without overpowering the fish. I’d even dare to say Sushi Yuzu’s spicy tuna crispy rice was better than Katsuya’s, which is a very high bar.

The food felt refined without being fussy, and the quality made a casual lunch feel special. Sushi Yuzu is definitely worth visiting if you enjoy fresh sushi, especially tuna. I’ll absolutely be returning to try more of the menu.“
