While the ramen is quite good, try their other non-ramen offerings. Katsu curry rice is very good here (katsu pork was prepared perfectly and curry flavorful) as well as their gyudon (beef over rice). Service as fast, friendly and attentive and the dining area was very clean.
Value for the meal is excellent especially for West LA!
Cannot recommend enough!

Shin-Sen-Gumi YAKITORI is a phenomenal restaurant on Sawtelle in West LA. It is the real deal. The yakitori selection is great, with chicken hearts, chicken cartilage, and odd meat cuts or organ meats. They also have great beef, chicken, pork, and seafood cuts. The best unagi in LA is so tender it falls off the skewer. Other highlights include skirt/kobe steak, scallops, yellowtail, chicken soup, salmon carpaccio, and shiitaki mushrooms. For ramen, there are many combinations and customizations, including the size of noodle. The standard menu has favorites like the Green Special dumpling stuffed with edamame, green bean, yellow carrot, carrot, red bell pepper, onion, potato, cabbage, and garlic, plus deep fried oysters and deep fried pork. Vegan and vegetarian food is available. The service is kind, fast, and outstanding. The staff is courteous and helpful. The restaurant is a delight, from table seating to a bar along the kitchen. It is comfortable and adorable inside. For a late night quick bite, it is great. Note that yakitori is only offered at night, not lunch. The chef/cooks in the back fan the yakitori like their life depends on it.
