In these tough times, a little normalcy is nice. Dean and staff provided a wonderful dinner for us tonight. We are grateful to all of them for being there for your patrons.

This little gem has been on Santa Monica Blvd for many years. I usually go there for the lunch specials. They do have Sushi and Sashimi. I had some Sashimi (Tuna) with my Teriyaki Chicken meal. It included a small shredded salad with Thousand Island dressing, Rice, the Sashimi and the pickled cabbage bites served pre-meal. The Sashimi proved to be the star of the meal. The food is authentic and delicious, with standout dishes like the Miso Cod, a special of the house, and the Tonkatsu, served with a tasty sauce. The miso soup is piping hot and the best ever, while the vegetable cut rolls are outstanding for vegetarians. Traditional and local without any nonsense, this family-friendly spot has been a longtime favorite. The sushi and tempura are incredible, and the toro is good, though the uni may disappoint. With large portions, reasonable prices, and plenty of metered street parking, Aki Restaurant is a great choice for those seeking authentic Japanese cuisine.
