“Went for lunch with reservation. Server was attentive, knowledgeable on menu and friendly. Everything came out timely from appetizers, to main course, but desert seemed to take a little longer. Shared PESTO CHICKEN AND FRESH MOZZARELLA FLATBREAD, PHILLY CHEESESTEAK FLATBREAD & CHARCUTERIE BOARD. I didn't try charcuterie which looked good, flat read was good but not to die for. Main course had the BRICK-OVEN ROASTED CHILEAN SEA BASS which was also very good, cooked excellent and left me satisfied but not full. Moved on to desert and couldn't decide on KEY LIME PIE (1 MINI) & BLUEBERRY AND LEMON (1 MINI) so got both - have to say I was surprised the key lime pie was not tart enough for liking and the pie crust crumbles fell as I scooped out of the dish with my spoon, the blueberry and lemon was excellent and highly recommended! I would return to this location for lunch or dinner, would love to have had a drink during happy hour to complement the meal.“

“We found Avila’s El Ranchito on-line and decided to give it a try. We had about 45 minute wait so we knew it must be good. A little mix up in the list to be seated. There was another “David party of 2” that arrived AFTER we did but they jumped at the chance to be seated before us. The staff was very friendly. The portions were large enough that we shared a meal and were plenty satisfied. The food was very delicious. The salsa was not what you would call mild so for those with sensitive palates be aware! The atmosphere was loud inside but relatively quiet outside. We would dine at this restaurant again.“

“Came across this restaurant somehow. So I have decided to give it a try. It’s a small, cozy restaurant. Surprisingly food was good, and the restaurant very generous with the bottomless mimosa on a Sunday brunch. The champagne pour into the glass till it’s almost full. Leave only a little bit room to add the juice of your choice which was pineapple, guava, orange juice I forgot 1 more with just $19.99. It’s so cheap compare to other restaurants that offer bottomless mimosa starting at least $22 and up. Our server Gustavo was very nice, very attentive. There’s some parking in front and there are some in the back. I was there at 12pm so I found it ok. Not difficult at all. Not sure about dinner time. They do offer dinner menu as well on a Sunday brunch if you are interested you can ask for both menu to decide. For us, we ordered everything on dinner menu. lol.“

The Ratatouille may very well be one of the best things you will ever eat. Come back if it is sold out - actually, keep coming back until you have it, and then you will keep coming back on autopilot. Good, if smaller, wine list. Sole drawback is that it is located in a (very high end) mall. Who cares. A true gem, owned and operated by a very nice couple. Solid wait staff, good vibes all around. “Amazing Japanese cuisine in Costa Mesa, CA. This place is one of the best Japanese restaurants in all of Orange County. The interior style resembles what all Japanese restaurants should look like, and most importantly, the food and service was top notch. They have an extensive sushi menu and it has always been very fresh and also Japanese imported. Hands down, my top 5 favorite Japanese restaurants in California.“

“KJB Pho & Egg Rolls is a small, unassuming Vietnamese cafe on Newport Boulevard that has quietly become one of our regular lunch spots.

The dinning room is simple, but there’s a warmth to it. The owner and her staff always greet you with a smile, and that same sense of care seems to carry into the food. Ingredients are noticeably fresh, portions are generous, and even familiar dishes feel a little more considered here.

I’ve worked my way through the pho, flat noodles and several of the banh mi. The barbecue pork sandwich is the one I keep coming back to: a substantial French roll, fresh ingredients and consistently good pork.

There’s a steady stream of takeout during lunch and dinner, and depending on the day, sometimes we grab ours to go and sometimes we stay. Either way, this is one of those small neighborhood restaurants where being welcomed genuinely adds something to the experience.

It’s also remarkably easy to get to right off Newport Boulevard, with plenty of parking whenever we’ve been there. If you’re in a rush they are quick to serve you as well. It’s an easy recommendation if you’re looking for Vietnamese food in Costa Mesa or Newport.“

Blame covid for the price increases and there are sign posted to make you aware of the increase. it's the best food and most reasonable prices in town. if you cant afford a 11 dish then don't buy or complain about it. “i've been a big fan of yardhouse happy hour since i started going to it back in 2021 in Long beach. now that i dont frequent the one in LB, this costa mesa location is the closest. the happy hour here is probably my #1, great selection choices, and overall, great beer selection too. highly recommend the chicken tenders, pizzas, and poke nachos!“

The udon is super consistent with their other location OkiDoki in Tustin. Such amazingly good udon and flavorful broth.

We went on Aug 4th and starting today, and only on Tues and Wed nights for dinner they serve 10 portions of Prime Beef and Garlic Udon. SO GOOD. So worth the price tag and wait. We even took the broth home lol.

Original Review. Hands down best Katsu Curry I have had that wasn’t in Japan or homemade. Portion sizes are perfect, I ordered a large, but was so hungry I finished it easily. We had chicken katsu curry, tonkatsu curry and karrage. So much flavor in everything. If asked if you want your curry spicy, say yes, Japanese curry is not that spicy. It is homemade curry sauce and it is incredible. The staff, Alex and Dave, made the experience 5 Star, just a couple of incredible individuals.“

“Another good thai place in the locality. The drunken fried rice was pretty good, had great flavor, wonderful taste and delicious. The khao soi which we ordered was good too, but the consistency of it was way too thick than expected, and it was more towards on the sweeter side of the taste, even thought we ordered it as spicy . The quantity looked a small too for the price. However there are other menu items which look interesting and can't wait to explore other items.“
