“We found Avila’s El Ranchito on-line and decided to give it a try. We had about 45 minute wait so we knew it must be good. A little mix up in the list to be seated. There was another “David party of 2” that arrived AFTER we did but they jumped at the chance to be seated before us. The staff was very friendly. The portions were large enough that we shared a meal and were plenty satisfied. The food was very delicious. The salsa was not what you would call mild so for those with sensitive palates be aware! The atmosphere was loud inside but relatively quiet outside. We would dine at this restaurant again.“

“5 stars for weekday happy hour specials! Popped in before a show at Segerstrom. Made a reservation on Opentable and when we arrived at 5pm there was already a line forming for the happy hour section. We ordered the $16 flatbread and sips: pesto chicken flatbread paired with generous size cosmo martini. Also ordered from the $8 small plates special: goat cheese and 3 piece steak lettuce wraps. Service was fast and friendly, food served hot and generous in portion for happy hour. There used to be live piano entertainment - there wasn’t on the night we went. They were showing baseball playoffs that time. We will definitely return when we go to a show again!“

“Came across this restaurant somehow. So I have decided to give it a try. It’s a small, cozy restaurant. Surprisingly food was good, and the restaurant very generous with the bottomless mimosa on a Sunday brunch. The champagne pour into the glass till it’s almost full. Leave only a little bit room to add the juice of your choice which was pineapple, guava, orange juice I forgot 1 more with just $19.99. It’s so cheap compare to other restaurants that offer bottomless mimosa starting at least $22 and up. Our server Gustavo was very nice, very attentive. There’s some parking in front and there are some in the back. I was there at 12pm so I found it ok. Not difficult at all. Not sure about dinner time. They do offer dinner menu as well on a Sunday brunch if you are interested you can ask for both menu to decide. For us, we ordered everything on dinner menu. lol.“

“Came in yesterday around 1:30 after doing our taxes a couple blocks away. Ordered the bacon breakfast burrito - no Pico de gallo. Burrito was excellent and portion size was also very good. Salsa that came on the side was really good. We will stop here again when in the area 👍🤙“

Blame covid for the price increases and there are sign posted to make you aware of the increase. it's the best food and most reasonable prices in town. if you cant afford a 11 dish then don't buy or complain about it. “Couldn't find an all-vegan restaurant in Laguna on a Monday evening (so disappointing), so drove out of our way to SeaBirds in Costa Mesa, and lemme tell you, it was worth the extra time and gas money!! Yossi greeted us with a smile and recommended the homemade pesto rigatoni with almond cheese and toasted gremolata (I chose to eliminate the seitan sausage crumble) -- absolute perfection, and my new favorite meal! Since I live 40 miles away, I rarely get to enjoy this place, and I normally order the purple potato taquitos, but stepped out of my comfort zone and so glad I did!!! Then came the homemade vanilla soda (don't forget to stir it) -- a sweet, nostalgic sensory delight! I rarely have room for dessert, but we tried the famous churro waffle with vanilla ice cream and chocolate drizzle (called a chaffle), and the chocolate avocado mousse with homemade oreo crumble -- ohmygoodness!!!! Both disappeared faster than we'd like to admit. I love the food here so much that I would crawl back on my hands and knees for another meal if I had to! Outstanding food and service, and proof that exceptional vegan restaurants still exist -- thank goodness! 20 out of 10 stars!!!“

“I can’t believe what I thought I was eating before was pizza! Such fresh ingredients, I felt I was eating direct from the garden. Even the plentiful cheese tasted super fresh. Make note that this excellent pie takes time to make. You can rush perfection. Be patient and have a beer on tap!“

“KJB Pho & Egg Rolls is a small, unassuming Vietnamese cafe on Newport Boulevard that has quietly become one of our regular lunch spots.

The dinning room is simple, but there’s a warmth to it. The owner and her staff always greet you with a smile, and that same sense of care seems to carry into the food. Ingredients are noticeably fresh, portions are generous, and even familiar dishes feel a little more considered here.

I’ve worked my way through the pho, flat noodles and several of the banh mi. The barbecue pork sandwich is the one I keep coming back to: a substantial French roll, fresh ingredients and consistently good pork.

There’s a steady stream of takeout during lunch and dinner, and depending on the day, sometimes we grab ours to go and sometimes we stay. Either way, this is one of those small neighborhood restaurants where being welcomed genuinely adds something to the experience.

It’s also remarkably easy to get to right off Newport Boulevard, with plenty of parking whenever we’ve been there. If you’re in a rush they are quick to serve you as well. It’s an easy recommendation if you’re looking for Vietnamese food in Costa Mesa or Newport.“

“Amazing Japanese cuisine in Costa Mesa, CA. This place is one of the best Japanese restaurants in all of Orange County. The interior style resembles what all Japanese restaurants should look like, and most importantly, the food and service was top notch. They have an extensive sushi menu and it has always been very fresh and also Japanese imported. Hands down, my top 5 favorite Japanese restaurants in California.“

“I really liked the paccheri al pistacchio my wife ordered, the flavors were very balanced and quite unique. However, being from Italy and spent all my life in Rome I did not enjoy the carbonara at all, it was grainy and had a smokey flavor similar to some other carbonara I’ve tried since moving to America. We’ll probably come back to try different food and the vibe, but I will not order the carbonara again.“

“This place was a vibe. Everything was so delicious. They specialize in all cuisines, but they have a focus on Filipino cuisine. Everything overall is fusion. They have pasta. They have everything that you would need.

We got the shrimp lumpia, the mussels, the wagyu burger, the rigatoni bolognese, and a glass of white and red wine. The service was impeccable, and everything was just flat out delicious. Great service, great atmosphere, and the food is farm-to-table.“

I had the best experience at Tabu Shabu! I sat out on the patio with my dog and it was absolutely perfect—comfortable, welcoming, and such a great vibe. I ordered a glass of wine and started with the cucumber appetizer and edamame, both super fresh and full of flavor. The highlight was the salmon bowl with rice…so delicious, perfectly cooked, and so satisfying. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and they made me (and my pup!) feel totally at home. I think everyone came out at some point to visit with me and my pup. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, a relaxing atmosphere, and a dog-friendly spot for a drink and apps (cant do hotpot outside, but still worth it).“
