“This is my 2nd time visiting Meiji. The food was so good and I totally forgot to take some pictures and write the review on my 1st visit. Today I took some pictures and wrote this review. This place has best udon in town. I ordered 4 most popular dishes, beef Shabu Shabu Udon, Shrimp Tempura Udon, Fried Squid Legs, and Fried Chicken. They are all very tasty. Their udon noodles are handmade and the soup broth is so delicious. The restaurant has ambience of Japanese tastes of hometown. This restaurant is not very big but they do offer online waiting list. I would recommend joining their waiting list before you visit the restaurant. Definitely will come back again!“

“Nice addition to the mall! ?
Pricing and menu options were exactly the same which is great. The food tasted similar, but the portion was quite small compared to what I remembered. Our order came out quickly, though.
* Tái Chín Gân: 8/10 - good but more broth than noodles
Located in the depths of Bloomingdale’s, they offer a nice dining area with other restaurants to choose from. This location has a unique counter seating area that would be perfect for solo diners. The workers were very efficient, but not super friendly. The place is very convenient for when you’ve been shopping all day and craving some pho.
One of the only restaurants at South Coast Plaza where you don’t have to wait for a table!
Parking: Located in South Coast Plaza“

“I came early around 5:15pm for a weekend dinner. There is more parking than i expected behind the building. The waiters were attentive in refilling my water and checked in to see if i was doing ok. Otherwise, the food (vegan mazemen) was filling and they provide some rice to top off with the sauce. I would definitely come here again.“

“Santouka is one of the better ramen options in the OC area. Most of the good ramen are options are closer to downtown LA, so it's nice to have something closer for folks in the OC and surrounding areas.
I always order the large spicy miso ramen with extra char siu ($15.95) with a side char-siu rice bowl ($6). Its enough to split between two people if you aren't super hungry. I enjoy the noodle quality and broth of the ramen. There are many different options and deals that they offer.
This location is always a little chaotic to get into and out of. I recommend going during off-hours because the food court always has hordes of people in it.“

“Freshly made udon at a good price! I just wish the noodles were more Al dente. The one I had was too soft. The fish miso soup, however, was great. The bk sauce could be a bit less sweet but I get that it is that way since it’s Hawaiian. Good choice of tempura items. Gonna try the curry and other items another time.“

“I came here for dinner. This place is busy with a lot of people which I think is a good sign. Expect the long wait time especially at night. They are open late which is a good thing. This is my first time trying this ramen place. I ordered a regular tonkatsu with pork chasu, a rice bowl the fatty pork and fried baby octopus. The service was good and the food came out fast. Everything turned out really good. The broth from the ramen is rich and really good. I definitely want to come back to try their other dishes.“

“Like all the reviews say, score the pad see ew! Also went for the green beans appetizer and soup as well.
Their food is so flavorful! Initially I was taking it to go but quickly changed to dining in to enjoy the atmosphere. I kid you not they had the food ready within 5 minutes.
Super clean, super fresh, very fast. Plenty of parking and the overall perfect dinner spot. Good portion size for the price.“

“I've been on a mission to try omurice with demiglace sauce and not the lazy ketchup drizzle. While Aoki No Chuuka didn't have Omurice, they did have Curry Omumeshi. It looked interesting and from the pictures, it looked like demiglace sauce. So I ordered it to try. This was very tasty. The curry fried rice is delicious. While the sauce doesn't seem like it is demiglace sauce but something similar to Bulldog Brand Sauce. It still worked. Definitely recommended.“

“Really enjoyed the noodles and dumplings here. The right balance of noodle to meat to broth. All distinct flavorful. Not mushy at all.
The portions were good. Not too little, not too much that food was wasted.
We got medium spice for everything and it was fine. I saw a woman next to me sweating while eating— it made me very curious about the jump to “extra” spicy.
It’s also for expert level chopstick-age. Between the red sauces, the oil, the slipperiness of the dumplings, and the noodles, the danger of spraying everywhere, or worse yet, dropping something back into the sauce is very real. I’m pretty good but my shirt looked like a scene from Dexter. Luckily it was dark grey, but still.
You’ve. Been. Warned.
Would recommend strongly.“
