The restaurant has the ambiance of Japanese hometown tastes. Customers praise the handmade udon noodles and delicious soup broth. The menu includes popular dishes like beef Shabu Shabu Udon, Shrimp Tempura Udon, Fried Squid Legs, and Fried Chicken, all of which are reported to be very tasty. The zarus, tempura, and karaage chicken are highlighted as standout items.
Meiji Seimen is an excellent choice for those seeking a taste of Japan in a cozy and welcoming setting. Customers praise the house-made and chewy noodles, with the chicken carriage being surprisingly good, very juicy and crispy. The kimchi udon has a flavorful and complex broth, and the udon noodles are perfection, with every ingredient going together so well. As a popular food place, there may be a wait-list, but the authentic Japanese food at reasonable prices makes it a definite highlight for visitors to Costa Mesa.
