“The place is quiet and not crowded for weekend lunch. The food was okay. We ordered the golden broth beef hotpot with extra blood. The taste was light. The flavor doesn’t get to the beef and beef was pretty plain. They put a lot of vermicelli in this pot so basically very little soup. The other dishes we got are cold dish cucumbers. It was fresh but the portion was small, as expected. Sliced Beef and Beef Offal in Chili Sauce was a lot of hot oil but the beef was very hard. The oil has a very strange taste to it. I had a lot of Sichuan food many places. I can’t describe this flavor, kind of not fresh but stale taste. I am surprised with the dish quality I got as the reviews are really good. The dessert of tofu pudding was good. But not to the extent that it’s super amazing. Overall 3-4 stars.“

“Whenever I get a craving for Thai this is my go to spot. The food is authentic delicious and Just plain beautiful. The prices are reasonable the portions are large. The atmosphere can be busy, but comforting and relaxing, like a coffeehouse. The hustle and bustle of people coming in doesn’t distract from the atmosphere. In fact, it adds to it. I have always judged a Thai restaurant by their Tom kha kai. The first time I had it here I knew I was in for some good Thai. I’ve been making Tom kha gai at home for years now I know how it’s done and the subtleties of the ingredients. I highly recommend this restaurant.“

“I got spicy ramen (the last one in the list) and it was pretty good. The portions are adequate, I didn’t feel like I was gonna explode, but I felt comfortably full. They have a lot of vegetarian options. The prices are on the higher side though, probably due to its location. Otherwise it’s pretty good.
Vegetarian options: Almost all of their ramen have a vegetarian equivalent, and all the broth is vegetarian.
Parking: There are a lot of parking on either side of the mall.
Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on the first floor and there are no steps. Access would be easy for someone on a wheelchair.“

“The place is super small and can get very busy so don't go here if you are not ready to wait. But it is worth the wait!
Not ideal for parties larger than 4. Prob best for parties of 2.
The udon is super consistent with their other location OkiDoki in Tustin. Such amazingly good udon and flavorful broth.
We went on Aug 4th and starting today, and only on Tues and Wed nights for dinner they serve 10 portions of Prime Beef and Garlic Udon. SO GOOD. So worth the price tag and wait. We even took the broth home lol.
Didn't get other apps or udon but I'm sure it is all good because the udon was so amazing.“

“Went for dinner on a Wednesday night and the place was full. The restaurant was bright and not too loud. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table as a group of 3. Staff was courteous and very helpful. I had the coconut shrimp which was crunchy and delicious, followed by the chicken fried rice. I have to say this was one of the most flavorful fried rice I have had. I also tried the scallion pancake which was flaky and crunchy. My friends ordered the chive pork pan fried dumpling, which I tried and was not impressed. It was lacking in flavor in my opinion. I will definitely be back for the fried rice. Key tip...the front parking lot is small, so check the one behind the restaurant.“

“Linh, our server was super friendly and pleasant. She always smile and attentive to her customers. You always feel happy to have her serve you. She's best at her jobs. She has great personality and superb skills with customers. Phở, rice with Salmon, rice with lemon grass chicken are so good. There portions are huge. Your money are well spent here. As for dessert, you also get free chè đậu xanh(mung bean sweet dessert) I highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely come back again and again. Thank you Linh for your kind service ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆“

“I’m guessing this restaurant is a Vietnamese fusion.
Chicken pho - solid.
Prawn vermicelli noodles with fish sauce. The prawns were a bit overcooked so hard to peel but seasoned perfectly and huge! I didn’t enjoy my noodles as much as the prawns because I’m not a fan of this restaurant’s fish sauce. It’s lacking complexity… a bit of sugar and acid in their fish sauce would improve this dish tremendously.
House wontons - solid. Delicious on its own. Well seasoned so it doesn’t even need the sweet chili sauce that in came with In my opinion .
Eggrolls - meh. They smelled strongly of fish sauce. I would skip it if you didn’t grow up eating fish sauce; it stunk! What’s worse is the sauce that came with it is fish sauce too! I grew up eating egg rolls seasoned with salt to taste without a dipping sauce so this recipe is new to me.
Kumquat tea - it’s kumquat syrup so it tasted weird and overpowered the jasmine tea. I mainly tasted lemonade and the kumquat syrup. I should have asked if the tea was made from fresh squeezed kumquat juice, silly me… 🤦🏽♀️ skip this!
Fast service. Fried food arrives HOT so let it cool down first!
I will return to try their Lomo Saltado, pasta or, fried rice dishes.“

“Pretty good soup/noodles. Noodles were bouncy and good amount of chew. The broth was good and very comfy. Portion sizes were on the smaller side, but I left very satisfied. The liangpi was also really good. The chili sauce was the weakest part of the liangpi but still good overall.“

“We didn't take advantage of the BOGO deal, but should have! The food was fresh and fast, yummy! My friend said the pho broth definitely tasted different from other pho places he has had, had more depth of flavor and umami. He said made his top three! Salted coffee was strong and delicious, not for the faint of heart. Will definitely try the BOGO deal next time I'm in town!“

“KJB Pho & Egg Rolls is a small, unassuming Vietnamese cafe on Newport Boulevard that has quietly become one of our regular lunch spots.
The dinning room is simple, but there’s a warmth to it. The owner and her staff always greet you with a smile, and that same sense of care seems to carry into the food. Ingredients are noticeably fresh, portions are generous, and even familiar dishes feel a little more considered here.
I’ve worked my way through the pho, flat noodles and several of the banh mi. The barbecue pork sandwich is the one I keep coming back to: a substantial French roll, fresh ingredients and consistently good pork.
There’s a steady stream of takeout during lunch and dinner, and depending on the day, sometimes we grab ours to go and sometimes we stay. Either way, this is one of those small neighborhood restaurants where being welcomed genuinely adds something to the experience.
It’s also remarkably easy to get to right off Newport Boulevard, with plenty of parking whenever we’ve been there. If you’re in a rush they are quick to serve you as well. It’s an easy recommendation if you’re looking for Vietnamese food in Costa Mesa or Newport.“

“Love the Lao Papaya Salad, Chinese Broccoli with crispy Pork Belly and mango with sticky rice. The young coconut juice in coconut is so refreshing and the meat is still on it and edible! Staff are friendly and bathroom, although one at a time, is clean and well maintained. Will definitely come back and try other things on the menu.“

“This is a hidden gem, let me tell you. I almost turned around because of the unpleasant environment outside, but once you pass that door, you’re transported into a completely different world.
The food was not only fresh but also incredibly delicious. I highly recommend this place. I suggest asking the chef to surprise you with a dish; he knows what’s best. I’ll definitely be coming back when I fly into town.“

“Weekends are usually packed here so parking lot is always busy. Be patience and you can always find parking in the lot. Tonight they had someone filling the water for everyone. Food is always on point. Never had a bad experience. $40 for 2 of us. We got the spicy beef noodles soup with the flat noodles, 8 pieces of potstickers, cucumber salad, pickled mustard green and their marinated egg.“

“Nice quaint place. Cumin lamb is decent, but that dish is usually good, can't go wrong with it. The soup dumplings and hot and sour soup are good, the hot and sour soup feels especially creative with herbs. The main issue is the place doesn't seem to stand out... Especially with so many Chinese restaurants nearby“

“Great Pho, hot and fresh every time. I like this spot because it's a quick in & out. They always have enough staff to make sure you're taken care of right away. Always consistent on quality and service. I wish they were open on Sunday's, and open a little later on Friday and Saturday nights. I'd probably eat here more often if they were.“

“What a perfect hole in the wall Sushi spot. I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of Disney. Narrowed it down to Hana out of 50 sushi restaurants. How this restaurant only has a 4.5 rating is besides me. Absolutely incredible service and food. FREE MISO SOUP!!! Yes, you read that correctly. They also have ACE if you are a big eater. There is a small alcohol serving too. The location has outdoor seating, but I didn't see anyone using it. I ordered a regular Tuna roll as part of dinner, and it came with the rice on the out. It was perfectly fresh and delicious. I asked if the Chef can do Tuna Maki as off the menu, and he pulled through! I cant say enough good things. 5 Stars all the way. I hope I can return.
Tip: Parking is limited.
PS: Yes, the Miso soup really is free, and its really good.“

“The best Thai cuisine in town, Chef is from Thailand, authentic taste as well. Walked in with my husband in mid-Dec, we both are Green / Red chicken curry lovers, price is right, enjoyable food, strongly recommend. Then, got lunch special take out today, it was fast prepared. Brought it home, food temperature and taste remained Hot/Delicious as we expected. Definitely would visit or take out again.“

“Wow, the taste was amazing - both the pho and the cucumber lemonade. The pho was richly and deeply flavored and was satisfying while still being bright and fresh feeling. The service was very prompt, friendly and helpful - the server understood my not liking overly sweet drinks and recommended the cucumber lemonade as refreshing while still having sweetness. It was, indeed, refreshing and sweet - perfectly balanced flavors. The server also wisely suggested we package the noodles and broth of our leftovers seperately. I almost never eat out, but I would if I lived near Soup Shop.“

“Great hidden gem for rice‑noodle lovers in Irvine! The Xinjiang spicy noodles are rich and flavorful, and the Sichuan pepper fish rice‑noodle soup has a wonderfully fresh broth. Appetizers and the new milk tea drinks are surprisingly good. Staff are friendly and service is quick. The dining area is clean with a relaxed vibe. Fantastic value for money, perfect for casual meals or group visits. Will definitely come back.“

“I can't recommend this Ramen spot enough. Everything is so fresh and delicious. The service is very friendly and fast. “Another good thai place in the locality. The drunken fried rice was pretty good, had great flavor, wonderful taste and delicious. The khao soi which we ordered was good too, but the consistency of it was way too thick than expected, and it was more towards on the sweeter side of the taste, even thought we ordered it as spicy . The quantity looked a small too for the price. However there are other menu items which look interesting and can't wait to explore other items.“

“Hidden gem for Thai food. The quiet and nondescript building doesn't bear witness to the quality of food served.
Very genuine food and polite servers who aim to please.
We shared the Pad See-Ew with Pork and Yellow Curry with Chicken and rice. We also ordered the rare Mango Sticky Rice.
This is highly recommended but save room for dessert. The meals are hearty and the mango and sticky rice are plentious.
Service is excellent and helpful.
The atmosphere is very authentic with the ongoing elephant theme throughout.“

“Mian at South Coast Plaza is one of the best places I've tried for Chinese noodles and comfort food. We ordered a variety of dishes, and overall everything was well prepared with generous portions and fresh ingredients.
My favorite was definitely the Pork & Shrimp Pan-Fried Dumplings. The filling was packed with juicy pork and shrimp, and the crispy golden bottom gave it the perfect texture. This is a must-order.
The Beef Roll Pancake is another dish I highly recommend. The beef was tender, the pancake was soft and flaky instead of chewy, and everything came together really well.
The Chili Oil Dumplings were good, with a balanced flavor and mild level of spice. They weren't particularly memorable, but still enjoyable.
For noodles, the Spicy Spareribs Noodle had a flavorful broth with a satisfying level of heat. If you enjoy spicy noodle dishes, this is a solid choice.
The Clean Broth Beef Noodle was excellent. The broth tasted light, clean, and refreshing, allowing the natural beef flavor to shine. The noodles were cooked perfectly with a nice bite, and the beef slices were large and surprisingly tender.
The Chengdu Fried Rice was another pleasant surprise. The seasoning is on the lighter side, but that's exactly why I liked it—it wasn't overly salty, no meat and the flavors of the egg, vegetables, and rice came through nicely. Recommended if you're looking for a comforting fried rice.
The Beef Ribs were very tender, meaty, and rich in flavor. Definitely worth ordering if you're sharing with a group.
The Green Onion Pancake was fragrant, crispy on the outside, and not hard or overly greasy, making it a great side dish.
The Pork Intestine was well prepared with a good texture and no unpleasant smell, which is always important for this dish.
The Fried Chicken Cutlet was probably the least impressive item we ordered. It was decent and still enjoyable, but compared to everything else, it didn't stand out.
The restaurant itself was clean, service was fast, and all the staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our meal.
Overall, Mian is a great spot if you're craving authentic Chinese noodles, dumplings, and comforting Sichuan-style dishes. I would definitely come back, especially for the Pan-Fried Dumplings, Beef Roll Pancake, Clean Broth Beef Noodle, and Beef Ribs. Highly recommended!“
