I am from Maine and will be sure to stop by this establishment every chance I get once I am in town.“

“I tried the Spicy Black Ramen and really enjoyed it. The noodles were on the thinner side but still nicely cooked, and the chashu was cooked perfectly with a great crispy texture. Overall, the ramen was very flavorful and satisfying.

One big plus is that for an extra $7.95, you can add a California roll, which was also surprisingly good and paired well with the ramen.

“Got Sushi is an amazing little spot to go to if you’re looking for high quality filling sushi rolls that get the job done. Not as high priced as other places which is great, but the quality still stands tall. I’m loving the vibes here, nothing but good energy so far from what we experienced. The place is small but the staff is very tentative. The food taste amazing. Me and my wife got ramen and both of our eggs came with that perfect jammy center. “My teenagers and I had the Motto Black, the Motto Red, and the Motto Special. All bowls were tasty and delicious. Noodles were fresh and the chaschu melted in your mouth. They have the choice between traditional pork slices or slices of the most tender chicken breast. You place orders on a ticket so each person orders exactly as they want. “Great food when in the mood for udon noodles or Ramen. Every dish tasted amazing and there was a variety of choices to include appetizers. Plenty of seating after pouring in your order at the kiosk. Once you're number is called you pick up your order and add spices, oils, ginger,etc as you want to your dish. When done you bring your trays to a stacked area (kind of full). Plenty of parking up front and the restrooms were clean.“

“What is surprisingly fun place. First time, we've been to a make your own ramen place. The worker was so friendly in helping us pick out the noodles we wanted, how to heat it and the toppings and everything. They had a great variety of different types of ramen.

Even after moving away from Southern California, every time I come back to visit, this is one of the first places I crave for pure nostalgia and comfort.

What makes Santouka so special is how incredibly consistent they are. The broth tastes exactly the same every single time you order it — rich, balanced, deeply flavorful, and clearly made with care and precision. That level of consistency over so many years is something truly rare and deserves respect. You can tell they take pride in preserving the authenticity and standards of traditional Japanese ramen.

“I’m really pleased with Le Shrimp Irvine. Their Hainanese chicken rice is the best I’ve had locally so far—the rice was flavorful, the ginger sauce was excellent, and the broth was rich, though slightly on the salty side.
My only disappointment was the chicken. I’m not really a fan of plain breast meat; I prefer the bone-in breast and drumstick pieces with skin, which I was told was an option. I was also informed they were out of the skinless breast meat, so I expected to receive the bone-in option I had ordered, but I still ended up with breast meat.
Overall, I’d rate the Hainanese chicken rice a 4.0. It tastes very authentic, with that Malaysian/Singaporean style I really enjoy.

I also tried the Shrimp Broth Trio Noodles with veggies, prawns, prawn balls, and wontons, and I loved the shrimp flavor. The broth reminded me of the Har Mee soup base I’ve had before, but with a richer, creamier, ramen-style twist. The fusion works well, and the flavor was delicious, but with a bowl packed with noodles, shrimp, wontons, and toppings, it became a bit too rich by the end. I would personally prefer it a little lighter and more brothy, but overall it was still very satisfying.

The employees are great. They are so patient and explain the menu really well. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen that came with pork chashu, spinach, green onion, seaweed, bean sprouts, and half an egg. They also give you a side of garlic and house spicy sauce. The broth was amazing. I can drink for days!!! I love the flavor when I add the garlic. It was like a garlic paste. Would definitely get it again. The Chrispy Rice with Spicy Tuna came with spicy tuna, avocado, jalapeno, and eel sauce. It was so fresh. They used good quality tuna. I'd go back. I recommend it.“

This is our favorite local spot, they even have a decent happy hour menu if you can get there before 5:30p. And a good deal with 99 cent Saporo (first one, after that it's still only $2.99).
Our favorites are the sashimi roll - no rice with the best sauce, and the truffle salmon carpaccio - with another delicious truffle oil sauce. We love the baked lobster roll, their ramen and udon are both good, and in the end it's not too pricey.“

They have a lot of vegetarian options. The prices are on the higher side though, probably due to its location. Otherwise it’s pretty good.

Vegetarian options: Almost all of their ramen have a vegetarian equivalent, and all the broth is vegetarian.

Parking: There are a lot of parking on either side of the mall.

Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is on the first floor and there are no steps. Access would be easy for someone on a wheelchair.“
