“Waited approximately one hour to be seated. Spoiker: it was well worth that wait. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and pork buns. I can't decide which part was better, the noodles or the broth! The pork buns were priced just right at $8 for 2. Some of the best I've had. You are all so lucky to have such a wonderful ramen bar in your community. I am from Maine and will be sure to stop by this establishment every chance I get once I am in town.“

“We ordered Tokutsu ramen, both the spicy and normal ones. They have a good deal on sushi if you order ramen, so we got the California roll and salmon roll.
The rolls tasted good, but the meat in the ramen was just so-so and didn’t taste very fresh“

“I recently visited WADAYA - Fullerton and had a fantastic dining experience. The restaurant had a modern, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere that made it a great place to enjoy Japanese cuisine. The staff were friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout my visit.
The menu offered a unique selection of Japanese noodle dishes, especially their specialty mazemen, a flavorful brothless ramen-style dish. The noodles were fresh, chewy, and packed with rich flavors from the carefully prepared toppings and sauces. I enjoyed the creativity of the dishes and the attention to detail in every bowl.
The food was delicious, well prepared, and full of authentic Japanese flavors. I especially appreciated the balance of textures and the quality of the ingredients. The restaurant also offered other options such as ramen, rice bowls, and appetizers, making it easy for everyone to find something they enjoy.
The restaurant was clean, organized, and had a comfortable setting for a casual meal with friends or family. The service was efficient, and the staff made sure everything was prepared perfectly. I liked the unique dining experience and the care put into each dish.
I would definitely return to WADAYA - Fullerton to try more menu items and enjoy another bowl of mazemen. I have already recommended this restaurant to friends and family who enjoy Japanese noodles and flavorful, creative dishes. Overall, it is a great restaurant with excellent food, friendly service, and a memorable atmosphere. I look forward to visiting again soon.“

“My child and I moved into the area in late 2022. We've been coming here since the place opened. It's a very nice environment and feel with the music playing. The deals offered are as they say, a deal. I always get the tonkatsu ramen with the chicken karaage. The karaage is very tender and the ramen amazing. I've always had the best service here and food is spectacular. Make sure to always try the deep fried ice cream. I could live off that stuff if I could.“

“Their mazemen is always my favorite. No matter is the chashu, the mince pork, runny eggs, ramen egg and their secret umami vinegar, everything is super tasty and even the green onions are amazing in the dish. I love how chewy their noddles are. It’s my favorite local noodle restaurant. Highly recommended.“

“As one of the 1.5 billion people in the world who can't eat pork, the world of real ramen has been closed to me. This paitan ramen had perfect noodles and a rich chicken broth. They have the choice between traditional pork slices or slices of the most tender chicken breast. You place orders on a ticket so each person orders exactly as they want. I recommend the spicy chicken paitan.“

“Great food when in the mood for udon noodles or Ramen. Every dish tasted amazing and there was a variety of choices to include appetizers. Plenty of seating after pouring in your order at the kiosk. Once you're number is called you pick up your order and add spices, oils, ginger, etc as you want to your dish. When done you bring your trays to a stacked area (kind of full). Plenty of parking up front and the restrooms were clean.“

“What is surprisingly fun place. First time, we've been to a make your own ramen place. The worker was so friendly in helping us pick out the noodles we wanted, how to heat it and the toppings and everything. They had a great variety of different types of ramen.
What a very novel idea and all around fun, place to go.“

“We have been to this wonderful place several times and every time we come it is great! It can get very busy because it is great and because it is small. They have used their space strategically to get as many tables as possible. The staff is always friendly, welcoming and helpful. Tonight our server was Tang (not sure of the correct spelling) and he was exceptional!! Fantastic energy, super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! They have a separate vegan menu which is really awesome! Now the food…absolutely delicious and quite filling! We always leave with leftovers for the next day. Today we got (all vegan) Veggie Tempura Plate, Vegan Crispy Rice, Caterpillar roll, and CA Crunch roll. Our server also brought us the Salmon roll. All were SO good! We were also given a scoop of green tea ice cream which was also really tasty! This is a fabulous restaurant that we will continue to frequent and highly recommend!“

“Hokkaido Ramen Santouka has been one of my favorite ramen spots for over a decade, and after all these years, they still never fail when it comes to taste, consistency, and quality. Even after moving away from Southern California, every time I come back to visit, this is one of the first places I crave for pure nostalgia and comfort.
What makes Santouka so special is how incredibly consistent they are. The broth tastes exactly the same every single time you order it — rich, balanced, deeply flavorful, and clearly made with care and precision. That level of consistency over so many years is something truly rare and deserves respect. You can tell they take pride in preserving the authenticity and standards of traditional Japanese ramen.
The noodles always have the perfect texture, the chashu is tender and flavorful, and every bowl feels thoughtfully prepared. Nothing feels rushed or careless. Even when busy, the wait is usually reasonable and the quality never drops.
There is a reason Santouka has built such a loyal following. It is not just ramen — it is reliability, craftsmanship, and comfort in a bowl. The chefs and staff deserve so much credit for maintaining such a high standard for so many years. Places like this are hard to find nowadays.
If you want authentic ramen done right with consistency that keeps people coming back for decades, Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is absolutely worth it every single time.“

“Menya Hanabi is a Japanese restaurant specializing in Nagoya-style mazesoba, a dry ramen-style noodle dish that focuses on bold flavors and mixing everything together rather than relying on broth. The restaurant keeps the setup casual and modern, with a simple ordering process and a menu centered around different variations of mazesoba. It has the kind of atmosphere that works well for a quick but satisfying meal, especially if you are looking for something different from traditional ramen.
The main reason to visit is the Nagoya mazesoba, and it delivers on what makes the dish popular. The noodles have a thick, chewy texture that holds up well once mixed with the toppings and sauce. The deluxe version is especially worth trying, loaded with ingredients like minced pork, chashu, egg, seaweed, green onions, fish powder, and garlic. The key is to mix everything together before eating, since each ingredient adds another layer of flavor and creates a much more balanced bite. The richness of the sauce and toppings can feel heavy at first, but adding vinegar toward the end helps cut through the richness and keeps the bowl enjoyable all the way through.
Beyond the mazesoba, the side dishes are also worth adding to the order. The takoyaki and potato croquettes are good choices if you want something extra alongside the noodles, with a crispy exterior and freshly made texture. The matcha drinks are also a nice addition, especially since they provide a lighter option to balance out the heavier flavors of the meal.
The ordering process is straightforward, though the restaurant can get busy during peak hours. Since it is a popular spot, arriving earlier can help avoid a wait. Portions are filling and the flavors are strong, so it is a good option when you are craving something hearty rather than a lighter noodle dish.
Overall, Menya Hanabi stands out because it does one thing really well: mazesoba. The combination of chewy noodles, bold seasoning, and customizable toppings makes it a memorable alternative to typical ramen spots. If you enjoy rich, flavorful noodle dishes and want to try a style that is less common, this is definitely worth adding to your list.“

“Filling portions, accommodating staff, and most importantly delicious food. Izakaya style allows for small eats if needed (especially during happy hour, see posted). “An Evening at Kin Izakaya: Where Tradition Meets Ambiance In the culinary haven that our city embodies, Kin Izakaya emerges as a sanctuary of authentic Japanese flavors combined with the convivial spirit typical of Japan’s iconic gastropubs. It’s here that tradition and modernity collide to create not just a meal, but an experience worth savoring. The moment you step through the doors of Kin Izakaya, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that’s both lively and intimately comforting. The ambient lighting, coupled with rustic décor and understated oriental motifs, offers a welcoming reprieve from the city’s hustle and bustle. “Incredible food, service and atmosphere. We'll be back next week for the sea urchin udon.
Made it back for the sea urchin udon and the pork and radish soba. Both fantastic. Only 10nportions of the sea urchin so get there early. We got order number 9 of 10. Going to try our luck again next week before they stop serving it Tuesdays and Wednesdays, dinner only, in July.“

“The service is friendly and attentive, and I've had good experiences here with the sushi. Today came to try the ramen, had a not so good experience ordering it here before and thought maybe it was just an off day, unfortunately it wasn't. I'm sort of a ramen snob, and we ordered the Tonkotsu and the Black ramen. Both were disappointing.the black ramen has a pork broth like the tonkotsu, but it seemed overly salty, as if the base was primarily soy sauce, and the regular tonkotsu although was a bit smoother still was lacking in flavor. The noodles were chewy and seemed almost as if they used noodles from a Top Ramen package. I'll continue to visit them for sushi on occasion, but that will be my last ramen attempt here.“

“My favorite pick-me-up on days when I don’t want to cook. Some of the best ramen I’ve had I. My life, and best ramen in OC, certainly! Staff are friendly. Not nearly as long of a wait as other locations and plenty of outdoor seating. I appreciate that they add the service fee into the bill for dine-in to save you the hassle of guessing tip amounts. They seem to have very solid employee benefits, too. I love their pork sliders and tonkotsu ramen!“

“I've been coming to this restaurant pretty frequently when I have a craving for ramen. Every visit regardless to how long time time has passed, the quality of the food has not changed, and it's really consistent and umai.
My only complaint is the chicken karaage is not crispy enough, but other than the quality of the ramen makes up for all of it. I recommend the blaze ramen for anyone that likes a bit spicy.“

“Usually I save TikTok videos of restaurants I wanna try when I travel to LA but we were starving when we got out of the source oc plaza and just randomly searched a ramen place nearby. This was the place nearest to us that the ramen pics looked appealing. I have to say the ramen here was amazing. It tasted almost the same to the ramen we tried in our trip to Tokyo. And our server was so nice and attentive. He was so sweet that he gave our mom her drink for free since she wasn’t going to consume food due to not liking ramen but she was accompanying us. Found this place by accident but i have now marked it as a favorite and will definitely go back!“
