“Had two meals here recently: one lunch, and one late night take away (12:30am-ish). Both were well prepared, with the in person stuff being presented nicely for being basket fast food. Egg on the Ojai burger was perfectly cooked and the patty well seasoned. Spicy Miso fries were wicked tasty and huge portion. Katsu Sando takeaway was super crispy which is a must, along with the cut of chicken being substantial. I’ll be going back.“

“Food so good that my man and I went three times within a month, one of those three was our first time. The fish tastes fresh! We highly recommend the Chirashi Rice Bowl and the Seared Salmon Special, the latter has a really good sauce. The calamari has great texture and so does the chicken karaage. I only included some of the pictures I took, because I don't want people thinking we're nuts with all the other foods we ordered. Anywho, the service here is great and the ambiance is nice.“

“The sushi was amazingly ? fresh. The place was clean and the presentation was on point. I loved the quaint atmosphere. We had an appetizer of blue soft shell crab. The breading was a bit thick and the crab was rather moist. The flavors were good but I'm not sure I would order that if I went back. Only because the balance of bread to fish ratio was so so. I think this combination could have been pronounced better with a sauce. We also ordered some egg rolls but again, their sushi was so good, had I to do over again I would have saved all my stomach space for another roll instead of the appetizer. The sushi was 5 stars +, the egg rolls 3.5*, and the soft shell crab 3.5. The mango tango roll had so many flavors going on I did not even want to use the soy sauce as it may overpowered all of the other delicate flavors happening within the roll. Same with the crazy monkey, loved the cashews and sauces and did not want to overpower the delicate flavors with soy sauce. The service was attentive to all of our needs. We also had Yuki Sake and that was delicious with a slightly sweet taste but not overwhelming. “I've been coming here since a friend's suggestion last year and I am never disappointed in the slightest. Every piece of sushi I've had is so fresh and flavorful. They apparently get a lot of their fish straight from Japan.My favorite appetizers are the steamed abalone and monkfish liver. I would be happy only eating those, but you would be crazy to not get the omakase here. I got the garlic buttered clams on the house one time and it was also delicious.My very first visit had a long wait time outside but nowadays I just call in advance to reserve a seat. “So while I was on my way back from Oceanside last night, decided to stop by this spot on the way home! Place was empty when I arrived since it was kind of late and they are open late! All the employees were friendly and I decided to orded the New York Strip a la carte. The food took about 10 minutes to prepare and they also provided me some sauces to try! The New York strip was delicious and tender. I wish the portion size was a little bigger but what can you do? Overall, a solid spot to check out!“

Chicken was tender, and teriyaki sauce had a nice sweetness to it that cuts through the chicken and pork really well. Rice was cooked well. Green onion was crisp. If I'm in the area, I would stop by again.“

The beef bowl was good, but the meat is boiled and you can tell by the taste and texture. It would really be better if they grilled the meat or cooked it in a pan. Sure some may come with frills such as plum sauce, or yuzu salt, but nothing overpowering. Honestly everything from that set is pretty damn good and for $42, it’s a steal. Not much else needs to be said.Pro tip, for the hand roll, it asks for yellowtail or tuna but you can also request for blue crab which we opted for as we’ve had that in the past!“

Giant portions of quality fish, creative rolls, and wonderful friendly staff slinging complementary salad and soup with most meals. Their portions of ginger and wasabi are more than enough; I never have to ask for more where I usually have to at other sushi restaurants.
