He don’t really eat fish, but when he tasted the hamachi kama , he said it’s the best tasting grilled fish. We’re from Arizona, but my sister in law and her husband is just 5 miles away from this sushi restaurant. We’re the one who introduced this place to them . She was super nice. Saw that I had my two kids with me and without asking gave me water cups. After we sat down she came and brought an extra bowl for my toddler and even took the little decorative plant with her so we could have more room. Like I said, the food is great but great food and customer service like this makes me very happy. Thank you!“

Taberu Sushi was absolutely incredible. This is a family-run restaurant where you can immediately tell how much pride and care goes into the food.

We ordered the 16-piece Sashimi Box, which included bluefin tuna, cherry salmon, kanpachi, kuro dai, shima aji, toro, snapper, clam, mackerel and amberfish. Everything was unbelievably fresh and beautifully presented. The quality of the fish really stood out.

We learned that the chef is extremely particular about his fish. If something comes in from a vendor and isn't up to his standards, he sends it back. He also doesn't cut the fish until you actually order it. After eating here, you understand why. The texture, temperature and freshness were on another level.

We also had the scallops topped with uni and caviar 🤤, which were amazing, and the tuna toast was so simple but SO good. Honestly, there wasn't one thing we wouldn't order again.

Lynn, the owner, was gracious and wonderful, she made us feel so welcome. Derek was our server and was equally wonderful and attentive. You really feel the warmth of a family-run restaurant here.

“Came in with zero expectations, just wanted to destroy a mountain of food. Surprisingly solid meat quality and selection. Most of the sides were good too, just not the corn & cheese and the golden oyster roll. Those missed.

Service was fine at first, then a wave of people hit and everything slowed down hard. Only two people running the host stand and dining area, so that tracks.

Also found out you can get scoops of ice cream even though it’s not on the menu. Only knew because we saw the table next to us get some. Hidden little win.

The menu is pretty much the same and the thick cut of sushi’s are identical to how I remember it being for years and why I come back. “Amazing experience. At first I was wary when I realized the restaurant was in an older hotel next door to Disneyland but I admit I was absolutely wrong. The restaurant was good enough to be one you could find in any five star resort or Michelin guide. The service was absolutely amazing. The entire staff was welcoming and extra nice to us. The chef was from Japan and had fifty years experience as a sushi chef in Japan. The food was amazing and I can’t state that enough. It was to die for. “Everyone this place is a hidden gem. Ordered a bento box and the portions are very large, has so many different sides, all tastes good and the price is reasonable. Food is super fresh not premade, and the pork katsu w cheese is delicious. Recommend to dine in cuz it tastes the best when it’s hot. I’ll definitely try other dishes next time!“

“Oh man where to begin! This place is a hidden gem that I was recently taken to. Ever since going my first time about a month ago, I’ve been back 5 times! The bluefin nigiri is probably the best nigiri I’ve had in Orange County (The bluefin keeps us coming back week after week). If I were to recommend anything, it would have to be the bluefin. The yellowtail and salmon nigiri are just as amazing. You can’t go wrong with anything here—the fish is incredibly fresh and flavorful, and each roll and nigiri is so unique in its own way and flavor profile. They are also incredibly generous with portion size and price! We love sitting at the bar because it makes the experience so much better!

Apart from the food, what also keeps me keeping back is the amazing hospitality and service! Whenever we walk in, we are greeted by the entire staff—the sushi chefs, hosts, and servers. The staff take great pride in ensuring that guests are taken care of, and they genuinely enjoy getting to know their guests on a personal and grounded level. A special mention to Torrance, Jay, and Robbin (The sushi chefs) who consistently put out amazing nigiri and rolls for us! “Total hidden gem honestly kinda glad it hasn't blown up yet but I want them to stick around so I'm leaving an honest review.
Their sushi is amazing clean enough that I trust feeding my wife her salmon and scallop sushi cravings from this spot.
By far though the must try item is their jumbo Scallop it is soooooo gooood.
They have an all you can eat menu but I lay extra to order more of that scallop.
I also just found out they started a new promotion, free roll with x amount spent for example $20 gets you a California roll and $30 gets you a crunchy roll and 2 more tiers.

The sushi chef was so nice he snuck in an extra salmon sushi in my togo order today I hear he was the original shop owner, sold it went to japan to work more in the industry and came back and bought it back, or something along those lines from other people's reviews. May or may not be true but doesn't an amazing hole in the wall deserve that kind of romantic story?

“It's pricey but that's because the quality is that good. The food was amazing and the chef was a real good host(they cook in front of you). He was very friendly and entertaining even cracking jokes. And on top of that he had an animatronic ratatouille in his hat! So the kids were entertained too. Went for a birthday and the service and overall experience was above and beyond“

“This is such an amazing restaurant! I first came here in 2024, but I left LA for a while and hadn’t been back in a long time. When I decided to come again today, I was honestly a little worried. Two years had passed, and I wondered if the food would still be as good as I remembered, or if the fish would still be as fresh. Thankfully, my worries were completely unnecessary!

I ordered a similar combo to what I had two years ago. The price has gone up a little, but honestly, I think that’s completely reasonable given how much the cost of everything has increased. My friend initially thought it was a little expensive, but once the food started coming out, he completely changed his mind and said the meal was absolutely worth it.

We ordered the $90-per-person combo, and it was SO much food. Every time we thought the meal was finished, the owner would come out with another dish! The lobster was unbelievably fresh—you could actually see its antennae still moving when it arrived at our table. At the end, they took the lobster head and claws to make soup for us, and the soup was delicious.

The uni rice was just as amazing as I remembered it, and the grilled salmon head was another highlight. It was incredibly fatty, rich, and flavorful. You can really tell they use high-quality salmon. My friend even joked that the salmon must never have exercised in the ocean because it was THAT fatty 😂

The staff are Korean, and they were incredibly kind and attentive. I asked the owner if I could take some of their barley tea home because I really liked it. They didn’t have any disposable cups available at the time, but the owner actually went out of his way to give me a cup and poured some barley tea for me to take home. I really appreciated that small gesture!

We also had some sashimi left over, and when they packed it for us, they even included an ice pack to keep it fresh.

Overall, this is absolutely a restaurant that gives you way more than what you pay for. The food was incredibly fresh, the portions were generous, and the service was wonderful. Most importantly, this restaurant genuinely made my night. I will definitely be coming back again! ❤

Of the other local poke places, we’ve never had yellowtail be offered. The fish and toppings all tasted so fresh…It was also so nice that on one of the bowls he mixed it all together vs, trying to mix it in the car and risk losing some very important pieces. “Shabu Shabu good prices with great quality meat. My kids and I loved the ribeye, beef belly, and pork belly the most. All of the meat were good but these three were the table fav. Their appetizers were amazing as well. The fried squid legs, shrimp eggrolls, the blue crab, and the potato wrapped shrimp were sooo sosososososo good. you can tell a restaurant knows what they're doing when the fried appetizers are on point. I got one regular house soup and I got the mala for myself. They were bot so delicous. Also, the prices were very 2016 even in this infaltion.
