“Akafuji is a hidden gem located in a strip mall. While you might not expect much, the interior is modern and simplistic with a clean feel. Almost every seat is at the sushi bar, so you get the full experience when ordering omakase. They do also have some outdoor seatings, so noted if I ever want to bring my pup along with me --huge plus.We ordered the Omakase Special ($50), which came with 8 premium nigiri pieces and a blue crab handroll. To start off, we had a miso soup, salad, and chawanmushi. Then the nigiri came starting with the halibut. The following came in a set of two before finishing off with the seared miso black cod and handroll. Each nigiri was beautifully decorated with the right amount of sauce and toppings that you really didn't even need the soy sauce to go with it. Such an underrated spot --come get their omakase, you won't regret it!“

Everything tasted very good, and not burned like some other teriyaki spots. The meat is of decent quality, with the beef being my favorite of the two.Service / Restaurant:I used to come to this location back when it was a taco shop in the 90's, and to be honest not much has changed inside since then. It is quite dated, but that shouldn't deter you. The man behind the counter was nice and courteous.Notes:So why 4 stars? It's the prices. $18 for a plate is steep in my opinion. I went in looking to get 2 bowls, but at the price point it's at I decided that we were gonna share a plate instead.“
“Korean-style raw fish is famous in the OC area. The sashimi seems to be the best in the region. The raw fish is also delicious, sliced thickly and has a great texture.These days, no matter what restaurant you eat or what food you eat, the price is expensive.Even a simple lunch is delicious.“
“First time trying this place and it was delicious. The staff was super nice and let me take my time as I skimmed through their extensive menu. So much to see and taste but for my first time I ordered the Grilled Beef Bowl. Food was made super fast and I was in and out within 10 minutes of ordering. The Grilled Beef was so good I wish I had ordered a plate instead. Definitely give this place a try if you haven't already and make sure you take your time looking at the menu because they have a huge variety of food like Tacos, Sushi, and more. Try it out you won't be disappointed.“
“First visit and Poke experience and I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderfully fresh and satisfying the Poke Bowl at Poki Bomb was. I had no clue, honestly, what I was building as I filled out their order form--but, upon presentation it was beautiful and full of fresh ingredients. Chef was very helpful in helping my dining partner pick out a spicy sauce that would suit his choices, while mine had a normal level of heat and just the right mixture of spicy mayo and dressing for the salad. From the edamame and corn to the fresh mix of salad greens it was all my favorite parts of a delicious sushi meal heaped in a gorgeous dinner salad. Considering the rising costs of fast food, sometimes it's worth a few more dollars to treat yourself to a healthy meal that doesn't leave you feeling ashamed for splurging. In fact, I would have licked the bowl out had there been anything left--but, even with chopsticks I was able to devour every last bit of brown rice. If I were you, I would choose dine-in and enjoy the atmosphere so as to give them time to prepare your personalized meal. There was plenty of seating during our visit, an entertaining message wall and the service was very accommodating. Thank you for the awesome preparation and for the attention to detail.“
“Outstanding service. Even with the rules being a bit confusing at first, the waiter was kind and patient enough to explain and repeat it for me. Good quality sushi for the price (i.e. Uni, Salmon, Tuna, Yellowtail, etc.). Good rice portions without overdoing it (i.e. at chinese buffets) and fish was always well-cut and made, and plated well.“
“The H S Express Delivered, this sushi spot is nothing fancy but is low-key with dynamite fresh flavor and a nice selection of sashimi, sushi, rolls, and a few other goodies to be found at sushi restaurants. The decor is simple, and the service is good ,and the food is very fresh. This is a very small establishment with 5 tables and 2 seats at the bar, still brand new to the neighborhood . I noticed a lot of takeout and a steady flow of patrons to this spot, but I believe that will change when they find out how good this place is. Also, there are only two sushi chefs, so relax and enjoy the time. There is no alcohol served here, so don't let that spoil your experience here. You did come for the Hamachi experience.
