I had some questions and the chef was very helpful, he answered all my questions and I asked for some suggestions, he was spot on. I also ordered a cooked salmon dish. “Just grabbed some food from Spin Teriyaki & Sushi in La Habra and I gotta say Josh set the tone from the jump. Dude answered the phone like a seasoned telethon closer I half expected him to ask for a donation at the end 😂

Order was dialed in ready right when we walked in and he had everything packed up clean utensils sauces the whole deal. That kind of attention to detail doesn’t happen by accident.

Food was solid no doubt but let’s be real employees like Josh are what actually keep people coming back. You can get food anywhere. Service like that that’s rare.

Between that and their service, it's why we keep coming back. We live nearby and like to come in when I have a craving for their eel rice plate. I don't know what it is about their eel. It's better than some excellent sushi I've had and I would consider buying it if they put it in the menu a la carte.

My partner gets the Build Your Own plate. Sometimes we get a macaron ice cream. Sometimes we get a drink. It depends on our mood, but either way, it's always solid.“

“Sushi was incredibly fresh. The rich, fatty flavor of the salmon belly filled my mouth with every bite. The nori had the perfect texture which was neither soggy nor too tough to chew and still carried a great flavor. Even the ginger tasted fresh. Got a 2 protein poke bowl with 2 scoops of salmon. I asked for half rice and half salad, but wow there's a LOT of rice. My brother didn't mind since he likes rice, but I was a bit peeved. (EDIT: Oh, also the poke bowl is drowned in sauce. My brother loves eel sauce so he was glad, but just letting other customers know!)

The staff behind the counter was nice and was patient with me while I was asking my brother for the toppings and sauces that he wanted in his poke bowl. Sorry I took so long, at least there was no one in the store!

“I loved this place when it was Tokyo teriyaki. Even when they changed their name to Poke Yaki, they still sold their original teriyaki menu in addition to the poke. Well, the days of that teriyaki chicken bowl with fried shrimp are over, and its too bad because they had the best teriyaki in town. Their poke, however, is quite excellent, but ill never go back because they gave up on a good thing for something else I dont want as much.

“Quality ingredients and homemade sauces. We went for girls breakfast and loved it. My friends got a chicken sandwich and tacos and I got a veggie sandwich on squaw bread with cheese and avocado. “I come here often since it's near my work. I really wanted to post this review so I can show everyone how great my bowl looked. I got a small bowl but the worker packed it so well. Chef's kiss! The service here is fast. Even if they are working on online orders, they make sure to tend to the customers in person first. Everyone is sweet too and they give you extra sauce in the side if you ask.

“Always mine and my family's favorite poke place! Although Jimmy's Poke across from the Walmart is a lot closer to us, Mr. Poke is just top notch, may I say the GOAT. Jimmy's doesn't compete with Mr. Poke's freshness, portions, and atmosphere; Jimmy's is way too expensive for just 2 bowls of poke, and has gone downhill ever since they opened. Jimmy's menu was inconsistent and had quite a few stuff out of stock last time I was there in 2025. However, Mr. Poke has really stepped up with newer decor, quality consistency, and even adding on a stamping system for rewards that'll make us loyal customers come back for more.

Although not fully packed, their patrons sure have increased compared to the first time I tried them in 2020, where there was practically no line and only 1 employee. Not a long wait, but it can get a small line even on the weekdays, so it'll depend. But it's always clean and quiet with a few tables and seats. In addition, they added another employee to the line when I visited today 6 years later, demonstrating how they've grown in reputation.

Ultimately, I'm glad to see a small business growing and getting the recognition it deserves, so I highly recommend them to keep it up! 👏“

This place offers essentially the same options but at 3-4 dollars less, which is a lot for a simple lunch food! The Poke I got was tasty with sizable portions. The young lady that served me (I wish I would've asked for her name, but she had a few tattoos, maybe latina, with honey blonde hair and spoke in a sweet soft voice) was super helpful about picking my options. I've been wanting to come here for awhile because I love poke and supporting small businesses, and I can astutely say I'll come back here over other options. More people should come here, it deserves the love!“
