“Akasaka is amazing bang for buck if you like hamachi kama (yellowtail collar), it’s perfectly broiled - crispy on the outside and tender and fatty on the inside. Their chirashi bowl is huge with 6 cuts per fish and can serve 2. The fish is good quality and fresh and the tempura bits in the rice adds another layer of texture. I always come here when I’m craving lots of hamachi for a good price“
“Clean, nice little traditional Japanese restaurant with the popular and inexpensive options like the big bowl champon, the 18pc dumplings, the fried chicken(the first and only restaurant I didn't find salty), and several other choices. This place has the feel of those local restaurants shown by YouTubers traveling to little Japanese towns, and prices are very firm to earth honest...I had to smile when I saw the prices had different values after the decimal, you'll understand when you see it.“
“Cute unassuming sushi spot that isn't too busy! The server was kind and open to answering all my questions about what was and wasn't gluten free. I got the sashimi mix with steamed rice and didn't have any issues. The fish itself was fresh and for the price, I was satisfied with the portions. The chefs were also receptive about cleaning the cutting board and knives for my meal. This is definitely going to be my go-to neighborhood spot for sushi now.Gluten Free: Miso soupTamari-provided upon request Hot sakeEdamameNot gluten free:Salad DressingImitation Crab MeatPonzu“
“January 16, 2024 Party of 10 Birthday lunch Review late I was in Haciendas Heights hanging out with a friend. We ended up being a part of an office birthday party. It's the new year trying new businesses exploring new foods was my resolution for 2024 Yelping ! Staff quickly pulled 3 tables for us all to dine together. We were quickly served drinks we all passed on Sake ! This was a working office celebration. Okay, I walked in blind folks, not knowing what to order here. As I reviewed the menu, I began to wonder if I was holding my composure, not looking clueless. I do love noodles and broth, so I quickly searched for a bowl of something simila. I asked my friend for guidance. Let me tell you, I'll be honest I may not know the names of everything we ate that day. However, we all indulged in every bite. My bowl of noodles with ginger and miso broth was the best ! The flavor and spices were happening in my bowl. Everyone devoured every choice they chose, and photos were exceptionally hard to get as we waited a while for our food to arrive.“
“I'm always on the search for good sashimi restaurants in the 626. This time, I discovered this spot, which is located in a small plaza in Hacienda Heights. The chef here creates sashimi platters using the freshest seafood that day, and I also love their wide variety of sushi rolls they offer. Definitely recommend this hidden gem!!“
“Simple food n fun unique flavors you cant find anywhere else like Albacore Ecstasy and etc.**Update: Post-COVID has made the restaurant more take-out oriented, with the sushi bar seating gone. Reservations and seating is available, but reduced by 20-30% now that part of Dine-In area has been modified for Take-Out.“
“This was my first time trying foo foo tei. It's located on an off beat road and the parking lot is small and not very level as there were big big puddles from the rain. The restaurant was busy and while we were eating there was a consistent line at the door. They have a large menu offering ramen and rice bowls and side dishes. I ordered tonkotsu ramen which was nice on a cold day. They said it's made of chicken broth and not pork. It was good but honestly not my favorite. Still, they offer many varieties of ramen so their selection is huge. Next time I will try another type of ramen. The noodles were cooked just right and they give you half of a boiled egg cooked perfectly along with a couple slices of pork.“
“All the meats are so fresh, I love beef tongue the most. As some comments suggested, don't cook too long so I cooked majority of those as medium rare, which tastes really good. Service is also good, they always gave big smile. Not like some other bbq restaurants, there is no smoke, it's like high level Japanese bbq restaurants. For sure I'll come back!“
“Came here for my birthday in late 2022 and just now getting to the review. Still, one year later this place is still one of my favorite omakases iv ever had. Every dish flowed perfectly into each other. The ambience was small but upscale and comforting. It was fun being able to see all the chefs preparing the dishes in front of us as well. Make sure to keep the noise level to a medium or lower though as the people next to us were being told to politely quiet down for being too loud. If that's the vibe you're looking for though probably pick somewhere else. Food: 10/10Service: 10/10Ambience: 9/10“
“I'm a local here in La Habra and wanted to try a new sushi place and this spot was amazing. The owners and workers are so friendly. Not to mention the quality is amazing. Everything about this place is a 10 out of 10. I would definitely recommend checking this place out because it just became my new sushi spot..“
“First visit here. Absolutely loved it. The albacore sashimi should really be renamed a carpaccio. Thinly sliced premium seared albacore with a tangy delicious ponzu sauce. With more than 10 slices, it's the perfect delicacy to share with someone special. Everything else here was super fresh and tasty. The ambience is dark & comfy and the customer service was friendly, quick & efficient. I found my new favorite spot for sushi.“
“The best service I've seen at a Shabu place!I'm allergic to peanuts and eggs, which most Shabu places I've found have not been very accommodating. But Miss Shabu has the most friendly staff as they wrote on the menu notes on what foods I'm allergic to and which ones are good. They were very efficient with setting up our table of 16 and were flexible when we had less people than expected. The food was really good for a decent price. For dinner and drinks and tea, we spent about $50 and got 2 different soup bases, had many different types of sides, and plates on top of plates of meat. Definitely recommend this Shabu place if you were looking for one in Buena Park.“
“All I'm going to say is this place is authentic. You'll know when you arrive. Even the menu had cultural etiquette list might be useful to know for some who are new to sushi or to Japanese cuisine. Anyway, food was great. Their Edomae dinner set came with a different miso soup than regular ones, the variety of sushi on the plate was atypical. I know most sushi places try to cheap you out on these set menus - this place did not. Highly recommended.“
“Came here on Valentine’s because my date wanted sushi. The service was mediocre and food took so long to come. They only have one chef at the time that strictly makes the sushi. I love the anime style themed and you can play free arcade here. They give FREE dessert after the meal. The sushi was okay not so great but okay and tab came almost the same price as ayce. It’s still a good place to eat once in a while. I’d go back to try the ramen.“
“First timer here and as soon as I walked in was greeted very kindly. Great environment and customer service.Food is amazing, my family and I really enjoyed our beef and chicken plate with a tiger and golden Philadelphia roll will definitely be going back!“
“A neighborhood favorite for over 25 years!! King's is truly one of a kind, beginning with their delicious in house homemade Teriyaki sauce that owner Kirk makes himself! What we love most is the consistency, whether it's now or 20 years ago we always received the same high quality meats, same delicious flavors, and the very best ingredients. Our go to orders are the chicken teriyaki bowls (smothered with grilled onions of course), Teriyaki burger or a combination chicken and beef plate with a yummy salad. If you are wanting something a little extra you must try their crispy fries or handmade onion rings... they are incredible. Be prepared to be greeted with a smile and enjoy this wonderful family owned business, we sure do!“
“Highly recommend this place! It’s so good for a great price. You get a great amount of food too and it’s always fresh.I have gotten my friends and co workers into this place and they weren’t disappointed. The service is great too! It makes me keep coming back. If you’re in the Buena Park area, check them out. You won’t be disappointed.“
“After success with the jajiang noodles, I had to try the stall right next door. Inside the fantastic Hmart market, is Kazu Mori. I’d say Katsu is there specialty with pork and chicken. I had the pork tonkatsu with curry. Huge portions and so good. I actually thought I was a bit pricey bit after I saw the quality and portions, I reconsider. Also, not a Bricks and mortar saves a bit.I think the key is to get a bunch of people and order two or three items from each stall. The choice are fantastic.“
“Ordered 4 chicken tempura dinners usually shrimp and chicken are included however I may have said it wrong so ate more vegetarian dinner that day, good thing is payed approx 1/2 what it usually cost which is still very reasonable for all the good food one gets, their soup is the bomb!“
“Ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was so delicious. Stopped by after some shopping and this place was packed. They sat me down once I walked in and their service was excellent. I received my meal quickly and it was delicious. I will definitely come back again.“
“Mazesoba Hero's signature Lemon chicken karage is absolutely amazing?! It's crispy and tender and juicy! Every spoonful was a satisfying experience! karage maintained its crispiness even when immersed in the sauce.I recommend trying their Chicken Karage Mazesoba Ramen to anyone seeking a unique and delicious ramen experience.Yum! Yum!“
“My friend and I had a great time and our waitress Christine was amazing! She gave us great advice on food options. We tried the Fuji roll, lobster roll and geisha roll, these were the best! Thank you! It's a great place to relax and enjoy some time with great people!“
“Decided to try a new place as I’ve been on a hunt for a good local sushi place and wow…….taste, presentation and service get 5 stars from me. Everything we need tried impressed me so much that I can’t wait to go back. The owner is also a seasoned sushi chef and he is there making the sushi which makes a world of difference.Like I said, I found my favorite spot ?“
“Always love going here during my lunch break! They have the BEST spicy tuna bowl! The spicy tuna is legit fresh and isn't salty like other poke places! Half brown rice with half spring mix spicy tuna bowl always hits the spot . The Hawaiian classic bowl is super good too - love the pineapple & mango bits Will always come here for my poke fix when I'm in Anaheim“
“Great location literally down the street so makes for a convenient walk for lunch. Tried the spicy ramen and went with the fav chicken teriyaki plate. Overall the spicy ramen had enough kick but not an excessively hot burn. Scallions and sprouts and half a hard boiled egg. Over all mid of the road. But cannot beat the cost to value. Teriyaki chicken is always good. The staff is super nice and service s quick. The location is busy and although small not crowded. You will enjoy !“
“This dish is the embodiment of freshness! The juicy, flavorful seafood pairs exquisitely with the rich wagyu beef. The vegetables are equally impressive, offering a crisp, lively, and flavorful experience. Clearly, only the best ingredients make the cut for this meal.“
“We came randomly on a weekday night for karaoke. It was about $48/hr for just karaoke. The walls are not soundproof...like at all, so you can definitely be heard when people walk by. But hey, be loud and proud here. Overall it was pretty fun and does the job.“
“The people at this restaurant are amazing. They treat everyone like family. They are friendly and very attentive. The food is also amazing. I have been coming here for around 20 years. We love to come for special events, like birthdays, but also... we try to come at least once a week. We love it here.“
“Seems simple. Looks like maybe "i could make this at home" but it is not. It is 10/10 actually and unironically the best thing ive had all year. And i get sushi ALOT. This is great. And i think other ppl have noticed too cuz ive been here twice an hour before closing and they've run out.“
“Small cozy place definitely a hidden gem, hand rolls are delicious. Don't forget to pair it with a cold beer. Great fun atmosphere, Margaret & Richie are absolutely the best people around.Kid-friendliness: Margaret & Richie are very helpful and will accommodate to your needs.“
“First-timer at Chubby Cattle BBQ Rosemead, and it won't be my last! The all-you-can-eat experience, the friendly staff, the lively atmosphere, and the Wagyu yakiniku BBQ – this place ticks all the boxes. I'll be coming back for more!“
“Popular ramen spot with interesting ramen options. Their tonkotsu seems popular, and they have cool options like a pesto broth ramen (tasted very Italian) if youre feeling experimental. I got their veggie ramen; the toppings were strange (spinach/shiitake/hasbrowns) but the broth and noodles were great. Loved the ability to customize (spice, salt, garlic levels and noodle firmness). Id suggest asking for the hashbrowns on the side if you get the veggie option. Great service, and nice location.“
“The sandwiches and loaded fries are really tasty and are of a good size for the prices. The flavors can be amped up just a little bit as by the time you are almost done with the sandwich it gets a little too bland. Next time I l will order a bit more spicy flavored sandwich. Overall a great new food experience that if I am ever back in the area, I will definitely check it out again!“
“Located in Buena Park, on Beach Blvd., just north of I-5, Kobe Gyukatsu is also known as Kobe Kyukatsu. Being a Japanese/Korean restaurant, they use those languages' different pronunciations of that same word. Word that means "beef cutlet," which is this place's specialty. They offer several levels of meat quality, all the way up to Wagyu A5, which will set you back $100 per person. Besides the expensive meat, they also offer much more affordable Japanese and Korean everyday foods, from Ramen to Udon, Bulgogi, all sorts of Donburi (rice bowl with beef, pork, chicken etc.) We had Katsu Curry (fried pork cutlet in curry sauce) and beef donburi (beef bowl with rice). The food was truly excellent. The meat was tender, and the portions were abundant. The cutlet was lightly fried and nanaged to be at the same time crispy and tender. Definitely one of the best Katsu Curry I've had in Orange County. Service was prompt and corteous. Highly recommended.“
“I had the chicken Teriyaki plate and it was very good!! I asked the guy taking my order if it was good and he said it was popular. Everything Rice, chicken AND the veggies were so good. This will be my new go to place. Customer service was friendly and I didnt have to wait long. I'm now looking forward to trying their Ramen and chicken and California Rolls which I heard are good.“
“Came here for the first time and really enjoyed it. I didn't try any of the Peruvian dishes, but we tried the octopus sushi, grilled octopus, tiradito sampler, one of the specialty rolls and everything was nice. The dining area is clean and roomy, and the staff was nice.Definitely coming back again.“
“I definitely loved it. The second time going, I will definitely be going more often. The food is always so good, I had the takoyaki, the crispy tuna rice cakes, the baked crawfish roll, and the scallop roll. I had their green jasmine hot tea, I can't wait to try some other dishes.“
“Had to stop for a quick charge and the sushi came right on time, quick service and delicious sushi. Fair prices as well.Wasn't too packed but i came on a Tuesday at 12~ so I didn't expect a lot of people in there anyway but im sure service would've been quick and on point even with extra traffic.“
“So so glad I got around to trying this place out, the pastas are SO GOOD!! We tried the mentaiko and the squid ink pasta - the flavor profile for both was perfect and the noodles were cooked al dente! The portion size was just right too. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu“
“There are two reasons I would go back to this place. I saw it on Instagram, and I like to judge places for myself, so we went. The first reason I'd go back is they have an employee by the name of America, I told her it was our first time she introduced both beef and chicken teriyaki so we could taste both flavors and it was by far a great recommendation. Both had great flavor, so this place, I would say, is a good five-star. It's always wonderful when you find good tasting food but it's even better when you have staff that backs up the restaurant and gives you great customer service“
“Excellent food! A wonderful family run restaurant. My whole family goes crazy for their crab Rangoon and shrimp and veggie tempura. The golden shrimp dumpling curry is also amazing. They just expanded the menu, very excited to try more dishes. Have never been disappointed, and very friendly staff and owners!Vegetarian options: Lots of dishes can be made with tofu“
“Went here for the first time today. Was a late lunch and we were the only customers there. My wife ordered the Chnpon ramen I had the fried chicken ramen. We were served promptly by the efficient server. Both our dishes were flavorful and generous portions. Hard to understand the few reviewers who felt the food was bland. My wife has visited Japan and felt this was an authentic Japanese Raman . This is our go to ramen place. Highly recommended!“
“Best ramen around!! Even the vegan is great! And don't forget the Icy cold draft Asahi and hot sake!Vegetarian options: Their vegan ramen is soooo delicious! I usually add some mushrooms and the egg cuz I'm not vegan but eat it a lot.“
“I came to Blufish sushi restaurant to have lunch with my friends. employees are always friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant is always good. I'm not sure if the owner has changed, but it seemed like some new menu items were added. Surprisingly, there were two types of Japanese ramen. One was Tonkotsu Ramen and the other was Spicy Seafood Ramen. I ordered Seafood Ramen and my friend ordered some new rolls. The ramen was spicy and delicious, and the sushi roll was refreshing and sweet. I'll have to try the tonkotsu ramen next time. I recommend trying two new types of ramen.“
“This place is crowed every time I’ve been there but the atmosphere is great everyone enjoying the good food they serve there. If you’re hungry when you get there you definitely won’t be when you leave super large salad bar and the sauces are super tasty. You need a little patience in the evening to get inParking: Large shopping center plenty of parking but because of numerous restaurants park and walk a bit to the restaurant“
“Damn! Wish I still lived here lol I think this use to be fried chicken well when I went it was fries fried chicken mash potatoes bread and some chicken dip like some Asian zing!! Im wondering if he changed it to this after covid but damn this looks bomb too! ?“
“The staff is super friendly especially David. The interior was very nice and neat. The food was super tasty, I got the combo plate of chicken and steak. The chicken was juicy and tender as well as the steak! The rice was nice and soft! And the sushi rolls were BIG! Great value for the food as well. Definitely an after workout meal as an affordable option.“
“Very local to home. Walking distance close. Not sure why we don't frequent more often. The staff is super friendly. Place is always clean and inviting. Had the chicken teriyaki and the Beef Bulgogi. Both we super tasty. Give this local biz a visit and your tummy will be happy.“
“First time here it was really good I will definitely be back!I had the Benito Box Teriyaki BeefIt took a little bit to get my order, but they were busy at lunch ? The Benito Box was enough for my lunch and dinnerParking: Lots of parking in lot“
“It's been a while since I visited Yakiya, but the memories of that fantastic dining experience still linger. From the moment we arrived, we were promptly seated, a testament to their efficiency. I was particularly impressed with how quickly the staff ensured tables were cleaned between plates. The kitchen team deserves special mention too, as they kept the scrumptious dishes coming without any unnecessary delay. The star of the evening was, of course, the meat. Each cut was not only delicious but also richly flavored, a testament to their meticulous preparation. The presentation was nothing short of artistic, a feast for the eyes as much as for the palate. While the essence of the dishes was deeply rooted in Japanese culinary traditions, I was pleasantly surprised by the subtle touches of Korean fusion in some. It added an unexpected, yet delightful twist.“
