“Tried Happy Valley Village/Shanlitun recently and had a really pleasant experience. The iron-stew pot dishes were warm, comforting, and well-balanced in flavor, with fresh ingredients throughout. Portions are generous, making it easy to share without feeling overwhelming. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, and the service was friendly and consistent. Overall, a solid spot for a low-key meal with good, authentic Northeastern Chinese food at a reasonable price.”

“Great food, portions are bonkers good. Food quality is top notch and well worth the price. Staff are super friendly as well. I got a combo plate and unlike other Japanese restaurants I actually got beef that was properly cooked. After seeing the portions of the sushi rolls I will try those out next time because they were giant. Will definitely return.”

“This place was referred to me by a co-worker, since I don’t know the area very well. What a great referral the pizza is like you build it how you want, but with an old skool pizzeria. It isn’t like Pieology. They have canned soda drinks, or two liter bottle soda, no alcohol. Vito the guy who made my pizza to perfection was telling me they have a really good Sunday BBQ from ribs, Tri-tip, 1/2 chicken, etc. They are only open in the evening hours, and the pizza is good size portion. Their small is the size of most mediums at other places. I highly recommend this place. A little more in price, but well worth the fresh ingredients and they won’t take tips.”

“Honestly, so glad we came across this spot. Everything tasted super fresh and you can tell it’s made with care. The hot dishes came out crispy on the outside and just really well cooked overall. The flavor was on point, didn’t even need to add anything.

What really stood out though was the people. The ladies working there were so friendly, and when we were paying we met the daughter at the register. You can just feel that it’s a family-owned place and they really take pride in what they do.

It’s one of those simple, down-to-earth spots with good food and good people. Definitely coming back.”

The quality was definitely better before, maybe a different cook? Not sure. They're still good but not as they used to be. Service is always good, the staff are friendly and attentive. “They have all kinds of authentic Japanese style ramen. Also a Menudo variation if your curious, tastes good by the way. Several appetizers like Coconut Srimp. And lots of Japanese dishes. I had the Omarice with Pork Cutlet on this visit. Although I usually have the Ramen. One of my favorites.”

“Local Hit! Authentic flavors and a huge menu with pictures. It makes it really difficult to make a selection since it all looks so good. We usually visit once a week but this week we have been here twice. My husband loves the Tacos Dorados. They are filled with tender and flavorful shredded beef. The menudo and pozole on weekends is good and the chorizo con huevo is my favorite. The little dining area is kept clean and the salsa bar is kept cold.”

Taiwanese fried chicken is very famous for its crispiness. We loved the J&G ones!!! Special mention for the “King Oyster Mushroom” ??????”

“We are lucky that if you dine during the lunch time, the rice is free. Or else you need to order the rice separately. The rice portion is big, however, one of the rice bowl contains the VERY BOTTOM of the rice pot. (See my picture). I don't think that is the right and professional way to serve a customer with that portion of the rice. Therefore, that deducts a star for this restaurant.

The service is good and the atmosphere is standard.

In conclusion, the prices for this restaurant are a bit high in my opinion. I will ONLY come back if the 20% off discount continues.”

“Was in the area so came in for a early Sunday morning breakfast and was pleasently surprised. Ordered the congee w/fried noodles and a western style chicken steak plate w/pineapple bun along with their signature HK style milk tea which came out in a flash. The portion were generous and the taste reminded me of the neighborhood HK cafes in Hong Kong! Overall it hit the spot on all the right places and will definitely return for their lunch menu in the future!”

“Sganghailander Palace (上海灘), 1695 S Azusa Ave, Hacienda Heights, CA 91745 was our first visit. This Chinese restaaurant was quite upcale and the environ was attractive, clean and pleasing. The waitng staff was very friendly and accommodating. This was one of the few times in a Chinese restaurant, we were served by changing plates and giving us new and clean plates at least 5 times.
Good and excellent customer service.
Fo9d was excellent, tasty, fresh, great flavors.
The grand chef can always serve different food with a unique and tastemy flavors.
That is the attractive and distinctive draws for picky and choosy customers.
The seafood was very good: lobster, shrimps, fish, oysters and claims. Excellent flavors.
The dessert was also very tasty.
