“I went to Aloha Stacks for breakfast on July 3rd. When I got there the line was out the door, but it moved pretty quickly. We ordered and got a table very easily. The food came very quickly and the wait staff was very attentive, checking to see if we needed anything several times. I had the chicken katsu and waffles and my companion had strawberry crepes and a side of kalua pork. All were delicious. It was very busy but they didn't rush us out. Parking is difficult...I parked on the street nearby.”

“I've been coming to El Buen Gusto ever since it was in Pico Rivera on Slauson. I moved down to Laguna Beach when I was 18 and had not been back since. I was up on the Whittier side of town and saw this place. A lot of memories resurfaced and decided to stop for old time sake.
Our hostess was very welcoming, warming, attentive and funny. However she didn't know what non-fat water and gluten free ice was. Nonetheless, I ordered the Chilaquiles. The presentation and taste of my meal was something similar to what my grandma or my mom would plate. I'm glad I stopped by, I don't make it up here to this side of town that often yet my next trip up here will definitely warrant stopping by for a quick meal.
For those who live close by you're extremely fortunate to have El Buen Gusto in your neighborhood.
As for location they are located at the southeast corner of Beverly and Norwalk Blvd's. It's not that far off the 605 frwy. If you're heading east on Beverly Blvd it's on the right just as you cross Norwalk. If you're directionally challenged, it's right next door to weeny-dog.
You can't go wrong with the comfort food of El Buen Gusto.

“We tried this little bar while we were visiting friends in the Uptown Whittier area. It's an eclectic little cocktail lounge with speakeasy vibes. We loved the decor and the ambience was great with dimmed soft red lights that made the place very relaxing. They had happy hour going on and we tried the queso con chorizo dip. It came really hot so it was watery and when we tried it, it was oily and mushy. However, once it cooled, the dish was solidified and the flavors really merged and popped- the oaxaca cheese, poblano peppers, and chorizo really blended together into a delicious dish. I highly recommend you try it! They have specialty drinks but carry a full bar and can make many other drinks. I really enjoyed their specialty drinks although they were very small. We spent about an hour there, then headed to dinner with friends. The staff was great and attentive. They were very nice and really explained their menu. It was a cute little place that were definitely visiting again when we're in town.”

Where everybody sees and hears what you're doing. Especially children. No one was busting tables. Customers were coming in cleaning their own tables picking up the trash around the table. The cashier was very unfriendly. She didn't smile. Every question was an annoyance and the interaction felt rushed. They didn't even say thank you for coming when we left. We had tacos de asada and loaded potato with carne asada. The loaded potato came with a generous amount of tortillas. The combination didn't mix.”

“Just came by for a leisurely Labor Day early lunch and Manny did not disappoint. We ordered two #3 combos, so 6 meats and 8 sides for 4 people. We had the brisket, tri-tip, beef ribs, baby back ribs, pulled pork, and the chicken. For the sides, we had 3 smoked beans, potato salad, 2 cole slaw, and 2 mac salads. It was nothing short of a feast! The meats were well-smoked, flavorful, juicy, and Manny was as kind as he was generous and attentive. He threw in 4 free sodas, free bread, a free side (we went with an extra cole slaw), and threw on a free kielbasa as well! We couldn't finish everything and the food we took home would easily make for an extra meal for all of us. We drove all most an hour, in the rain, from Torrance; this was not our first dining experience here, and it was just this kind of generosity and service that we experienced the first time that brought us back and will continue bringing us back as long as he stays in business.

“First time ordering and I was thoroughly impressed. My pizza was ready and waiting for me before schedule, the service was prompt and polite, and the food was delicious. Got a medium Margherita pizza and it was one of the best I've had. The crust is thin and crispy, and I can tell they're using quality ingredients. Additionally, they're pretty reasonably priced considering the cost of food these days. This will be my go-to pizza spot going forward.”
