“I was on a delivery call out to Artesia and after driving for over an hour to get here I got hungry so I looked at my surroundings and as far as restaurants go there were slim pickings, but out of the corner of my eye I saw this Mexican restaurant across the street from the fast food place I was going to settle for.I'm glad I looked around because I discovered gold!I've been to many Mexican restaurants all over LA county and this one is in my top 3 from hundreds of others. The food is original and the flavors really come through onto your palate.I could taste the fresh chicken inside my enchiladas, I could taste the freshness of the green sauce, I could taste the lemon on the onions that topped my enchiladas, I could even taste which chiles they used for the hot sauce they brought with my chips while I waited for my food. Everything had its own flavor but it was a compilation of true freshness that can only be achieved when you truly value your craft and this amazing restaurant is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to honest, fresh, and flavorful Mexican food!If I lived nearby I would eat here 3 to 4 times a month.The variety of dishes gives you so many options it's impossible to repeat the same dishes in 30 days! “BBQ upscale fast food. Cool concept, decor and menu options. Good amount of meat for the price....especially on the plates. Included sides were small portions. Order off to the register on the side once walking in, which was confusing for a first timer. Personally, the meat was much too salty to be a regular.“
“Been going to Penny's since it was on Hacienda & Maplegrove (bout 25 yrs ago) Hadn't been in a while Had steak & eggs with HOUSE POTATOES and it was all so tasty & delicious!! Waitess was nice but seemed new. The only drawback was she seemed to get busy with a couple of other tables and didn't come back to our side for most of our stay. Waited for coffee refill until I was done with my food. Only one more person behind the counter. Overall a good experience based on the food...and that amazing house salsa!“

“This place truly is a gem. Basic fundamentals of a good restaurant: good people and good food. I want to keep this short as possible but so much that needs to be said about this place. This place is literally the representation of the American dream. I grew up in this neighborhood since elementary, left into my twenties all over the place. I was originally looking for a quick bite at Maria's Bakery down the street but they were closed. Decided FINALLY try this place on a whim. Me and my buddy always told each other we would try it out one day but man ... if I had known such great people were running this place, I would have came sooner. Me being Asian American myself and in the restaurant industry... I felt it the moment I stepped foot inside... Best way to sum it up is "Real recognize Real". You can tell that they really love what they do and they do it well. It's something special to keep a place going for 77 years. Most restaurants now outsource products from big companies, everything pretty much tasting the same... but the moment I tried my food, I can tell a lot of it is done the old fashioned way. The beef for the sandwich, the pickles, the peppers ... does NOT taste like anywhere else. I've never been to Philippe's in LA but I would probably safely assume this can go toe to toe with them no question! Beef dip gravy you can tell made from the drippings and not purchased from SYSCO and the coleslaw was well balanced. Simon and Margarette really make the place what it is, a true mom and pop Asian American owned Restaurant with the heart and soul of Los Angeles food culture for what it was, is and should be!“

“I was staying at a friends house and asked if any of his local places did proper wholesome food and he recommended here! He also said it was family run, which a major plus for me, as I like to support such places if I can.We went along and after a fun chat with the waitress, placed our orders. We had soup and salad for starters, with absolutely delicious bread!Then we had Beef Pot Pie, with mashed potato, greens and thick gravy (Just like back in the UK). I have to say, it was delicious and I never thought I'd be able to have a pie and gravy in the states, like back home.This was all finished with ice-cream and I have to say the Mint choc chip reminded me of the equivalent Viennetta from home. The taste and texture, identical, which was good.Overall, the experience was excellent and the food hit the mark perfectly. I wish we had a similar place back in the UK near me.“
“these pupusas are truly AMAZING ? something special. ok, where do we start.... for one most pupusa spots, skimp out on the cheese/fillings, and the pupusa are most likely very small. this is very common for lots of pupusa restaurants. however, this place is the exact opposite. they have HUGE pupusas that are filled with cheese/fillings. these are the best pupusas I have ever had. I truly recommend... trust me. like I would drive an hour or more for these bad boys. keep up the great work, pupuseria el kiosco !!!! “My husband and I wanted to share a meal since we were going to have a big meal later in the day. Burger Town was a great choice. We split the grilled chicken platter. The chicken was juicy, plentiful, and flavorful. The fries were fresh, and the salad was huge with lots of veggies. I recommend allowing fries AND onion rings on the platters, not just one or the other. Most similar burger places allow you to do both on the platters/ dinners. I'd love to try a burger here eventually. The service wasn't too friendly, but overall, we had a nice breakfast/lunch. Ambiance was quiet.“
