“This place was quite different from the Mexican restaurants I’m used to. I read that they specialize in traditional Mexican seafood dishes, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Costillo, which came in a sizzling hot stone bowl with different kinds of meat and octopus in sauce. It was definitely interesting and something I’d never tried before, but honestly, it just wasn’t my kind of food. I guess I’m more used to tacos and burritos. Still, it was nice to try something different.“

“From the moment you approach the patio, you can tell the place is well cared for and thought out. Very clean inside with lots of energy put in by the owner to create an experience and place to relax and have a meal. When I complimented her on how the place looks, she said it's her mission to make it feel that way. It was toward the end of the evening so her and her son were taking trip after trip to keep all the patio plants alive during this heat wave. In an unassuming strip mall, with a touch of cute design to make it a cut above any other local Mexican restaurant worthy of any special occasion.“

“My husband and I just tried this place tonight and it’s so good! We ordered the revuelta, been and cheese, and plain cheese. They were all full of flavor. Would definitely come again.“

Server recommended the taquitos, green chile, and onion rings, and I can’t wait to come back and try them. Such a classic spot that does not disappoint on flavor.“

“I was in search of a good Chile Relleno Burrito and Google Maps suggested Calimex. I'm so glad it did! Easily one of the best I've ever had. The poblano chile was the star of the show. It was fresh and green, didn't taste heavily fried or buried underneath a ton of cheese. And the rice and beans packed a ton of flavor. Great flour tortilla too. It didn't look like the flour tortillas were homemade, but they were so fresh and delicious they could pass for homemade. Definitely a labor of love, the whole family is back there in the kitchen having a good time together and making incredible food. Will be back! Looked like a popular gathering spot for families and groups.“

“Leaving LA heading home we pulled off the freeway to get a bite to eat we seen this taco restaurant so glad we stopped by the service was fast we got there just before the lunch crowd. The tacos 🌮 were tasty the had our favorites which is plus as most sit down restaurant don't have cabesa and tripas prices were great we enjoyed and will make a regular stop on the was home to Vegas.“

“This place was great. I don't remember exactly what my coworker got maybe the carne asada but cut up in pieces but I got the Chile relleno double and even my coworker wanted a piece 🧩 lol. Everything was great from the rice to the beans topped with cheese.“

“I love the choice between fried and roasted chicken. Chicken was flavorful and good next day. I like plantains, rice and those beans were oh so good!! The yucca fries unfortunately were not, bland and didn't feel cooked thru. I ordered both a family and individual meal and requested rolls instead of tortillas. When I got home, there was only one roll and no tortillas. So insulting and luckily I had tortillas as home but i was so bummed, because the roll was really good. I'll come back, but next time. I'm making sure those damn rolls are in there!“

“I just came by after my dental appointment to check it out because it looked so cute inside. I ordered the detoxing juice and I wasn’t sure if I would like it but oh my goodness, the first sip was a long one because it was so good! I Wish I would have gotten the bigger size! I’m so glad me and my friend decided to just buy and try it! I definitely will be coming here again and trying out more of their menu. The owner was also very friendly! It’s a little hot inside tho! Wish I could have posted my drink too but it’s all gone now!“

“We appreciated the quietness. There was a digital jukebox available but nobody used it while we were there. I ordered a tostada de carnitas and I asked what they put on it. The waitress said beans, carnitas, (ensalada) or lettuce and cream. But when served, it was covered by salsa. She offered to take it back to remove the salsa, but my husband’s food was already there and how are they going to remove the sauce? I just scrapped it off, but I didn’t enjoy the food I envisioned I was going to have. My husband said his enchiladas de camarón were descent.“

“Been coming here for years. Their tostada servings are always generous. Their rice and beans are great. Tostada mixta is my go to but I also was craving the mojarra as you can see. Everything tasted great. Small place, and the decor is very dated. But the food makes up for it. Good for to-go orders too.“
