Homemade food. I go there on Sundays for mendoza and their beans and rice. Mendoza is not greasy very clean. The Chile the arbol is very spicy just the way mexicans like it.

Calimex Restaurant is a popular spot that serves delicious Menudo, which is best enjoyed early in the day as it often sells out by 10am. The restaurant's handmade tortillas are also a highlight, along with amazing chile rellenos made fresh daily. For those with a different taste, carnitas and tacos with various stews are available, including fabulous chile verde. The margaritas are the best, perfect for beating the summer heat, and the bar has great music. The dining area is barebones but has a relaxing vibe, making it a great place to enjoy a beer. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing excellent service. While the tostadas may be a bit stale, the overall food quality is satisfying. The restaurant's exterior may appear a bit run down, but it's a charming spot located at the corner of a small plaza near other local businesses. Note: cash only.
