“We book this restaurant through Resy because I wanted to use Amex rewards. I love the name of the restaurant! I didn’t know that they ONLY SERVE CEVICHE!! Seafood was great (little too salty) but I was hungry to the end because they don’t have main dishes. I would say this place is good for grabbing drinks with ceviche, not for dinner. Only one guy was serving everything. Making ceviche, drinks and cleaning. So it takes time to get food. Parking is in the back but it’s hard to find it.“

“The food is absolutely delicious! We could eat here everyday. Best empanadas we’ve ever had. The service is amazing. Catherine and her family are super friendly and they clearly put so much love into their dishes.
A must have if you’re in the area looking for flavourful Mexican / Ecuadorean cuisine.
We will definitely come back here!“

“When you walk into Guisados, the first thing that hits you isn't the menu; it's the smell of corn. Because right there behind the counter, they are patting out masa and throwing it onto a hot comal. These tortillas aren't just a vehicle for the meat—they are thick, pillowy, handmade, architectural marvels. They smell like grandma's kitchen, and they are sturdy enough to hold back a flood of heavy, rich stew without breaking a sweat.
If you’re smart, you don’t just order one or two. You get the Taco Sampler—a magnificent, six-mini-taco flight that lets you taste the full spectrum of what this kitchen can do.
The Heavy Hitters:
Cochinita Pibil: Shredded pork leg braised in sweet, earthy achiote, topped with fiery pickled red onions. It’s sweet, it’s sour, it’s deeply savory, and it is absolutely flawless.
Tinga de Pollo: Shredded chicken breast simmered with tomatoes, cabbage, and chipotle. It’s got a smoky, creeping heat that builds beautifully with every bite.
Chicharron: Pork rinds simmered in a spicy green tomatillo sauce until they achieve this incredible, gelatinous, melt-in-your-mouth texture. It’s texture-forward, unapologetic, and fiercely traditional.
The Pescado: For a break from the heavy meats, their grilled white fish served atop black beans with a vibrant cream sauce is an absolute masterclass in freshness.“

“I was having such a grand old time at La Fe that I wanted to take a picture of my experience. I set my phone on a ledge, but my phone fell through a crack. La Fe’s STAR employee, Caleb, had to dismantle the freakin’ couch using power tools in order to retrieve my phone. It took so much work and time and I’m so grateful. Aside from the superb service, La Fe is such a perfect spot for a date or for chilling with friends because of the stylish and hip decor. I would def recommend!“

“I'd like to share my experience at Encanto restaurant. The warm, welcoming atmosphere with soft lighting and pleasant music makes you want to stay, relax, and enjoy a good conversation. I came with my wife and child - we were greeted politely and seated exactly where we felt most comfortable. I started with the signature Margarita: perfect in presentation and flavor balance - it immediately set a great mood. Next, I ordered the ceviche set. The first two (Cona Konpachi and Aguachile) were truly outstanding - a symphony of flavors with perfectly balanced ingredients that complemented each other beautifully. The other two ceviches in the set, however, felt unbalanced - the dominant note was excessive acidity. For mains, I had the grilled fish - served on a sizzling hot pan, with a deep charred aroma and a well-judged marinade. Excellent. The steak, unfortunately, disappointed: first it was overcooked, then undercooked. But a special thank you to our server, Kristi - she was attentive and professional, and she turned my overall experience back into a very positive one. I highly recommend Encanto for its ambiance and service. As for the food - some dishes are fantastic, others still need fine-tuning. But with a team like this, I believe this restaurant can definitely bring you great pleasure.“

“Taqueria y Restaurant Los Amigos is a great local spot that offers authentic, homemade-style Mexican and Latin American food. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with a comfortable neighborhood feel that makes you want to come back. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care, with generous portions and satisfying taste in every dish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient, creating a smooth and pleasant dining experience. I especially enjoyed the variety on the menu and the overall value for the price. It’s the kind of place that feels genuine and reliable for a good, hearty meal. I would definitely recommend Taqueria y Restaurant Los Amigos and will gladly return again.“

“I was in search of a good Chile Relleno Burrito and Google Maps suggested Calimex. I'm so glad it did! Easily one of the best I've ever had. The poblano chile was the star of the show. It was fresh and green, didn't taste heavily fried or buried underneath a ton of cheese. And the rice and beans packed a ton of flavor. Great flour tortilla too. It didn't look like the flour tortillas were homemade, but they were so fresh and delicious they could pass for homemade. Definitely a labor of love, the whole family is back there in the kitchen having a good time together and making incredible food. Will be back! Looked like a popular gathering spot for families and groups.“

“Had a great meal here before a show at the Paramount. My husband had fajitas and I had the potato dish with added rosemary potatoes 🤩. I couldn’t finish mine - very filling but absolutely delicious. The proprietor is welcoming and helpful. We will definitely return and I will make more sensible choices!“

“Best savory empanadas in town!
They’re big but not cheap. Most are more than $5 each. They’re packed full of food though! They are aesthetically pleasing - especially the spinach and cheese one.
The spinach and cheese empanada is their best. It’s a masterpiece! It’s really flavorful. Great spinach taste! The ham and cheese empanada is also very good but a bit greasy. I’ve tried some of the other empanadas and they’re good too.
The deli part of the restaurant has all kinds of Chilean goodies! Like wines!
They have a deli and a restaurant. I haven’t been to the restaurant in a while but the food is good there too.
Parking is a problem but they have a lot in the rear.“

“Great hospitality and exceptional live music..
Outstanding hospitality from start to finish.
I wanted to recognize Evelyn at the front desk and Alonzo at Corteza Bar for delivering truly exceptional service. Evelyn is gracious, polished, welcoming, and made every interaction feel personal and effortless. She represents hospitality at its finest.
Alonzo was equally memorable — charismatic, professional, and outstanding at what he does. His recommendations were spot on, his attention to detail was impressive, and he created an experience that felt special.
Exceptional properties are built by exceptional people, and Evelyn and Alonzo are shining examples of that. Marriott International is fortunate to have them.“

“Quick and easy small place to get takeout. I'm not sure if the ham and cheese empanadas I got were suppose to have a small amount of filling. I will give them a second chance at some point and hopefully that amount I got was just abnormal.“

“This place is very hole in the wall. It's located in the alley way between Wall Street and Maple Ave. The entrance is only located in the middle of the alley driveway. I can best describe the food as a mix of Mexican, Salvadorean. I'm biased, I always order their asada burrito and it has never been bad. Meat was flavorful, just the right amount of rice and beans, cilantro and onions. Their red sauce is spicy and goes well with the burrito. I've always ordered takeout, and never ate inside the restaurant. Service has always been quick for me, as you walk up to the counter inside, place your order and pay when it comes out. They are usually busy during the day as they serve all the locals around here. The delivery person is usually busy, coming in and out taking orders. The caldos seem to be popular here as well as the pupusas. The establishment seems to be a family owned and operated joint.
The prices are more than fair for the food you are getting. If I remember correctly, the burrito that I ordered is $13 and you get a LARGE burrito that is packed. You will get full off this burrito. I've been there a few times, and I definitely want to go back so I can try their other dishes and see if they are just as good. Give them a shot if you're in the area for a quick bite. I believe they're worth it.“

“A hidden gem in the heart of Koreatown, Xecul offers a warm, authentic taste of Guatemala! My sister and I have visited twice, and as non-Latina/os, we were blown away by the kindness and hospitality—especially from the sweet and welcoming waitstaff (Anna is a highlight!). Knowing some Spanish helps (high school level + Google Translate worked fine for me), since the staff seems to speak primarily Spanish. Nonetheless, if you're willing to make the effort with rudimentary Spanish, the patient and friendly waiting staff should treat you fine.
The cozy, colorful space feels like a true local favorite, buzzing with regulars (including even charming musicians on the weekend). Standouts include the rich and savory pepián chicken, tender and delicious carne asada, and incredibly refreshing iced juices. Prices are slightly high, but completely fair for the high quality. If you're craving something off the beaten path and full of heart and decliciousness, Xecul is absolutely worth the detour.“

“Nativo is a small Spanish tapas joint off a side street in Highland Park. The paella sampler was well done—seafood was fresh, saffron flavor was balanced, and the socarrat crust was crisp. I also tried a jamón croqueta and grilled octopus, both of which were flavorful. The wine list is modest but thoughtfully selected. The ambiance is dim and cozy, with candles and exposed brick. The only thing is noise — during peak hours it gets loud, but that’s part of the energy.“

“A lot of people ask about the tamales, chuchitos, pupusas and the like and this is a very good place. They also have champurrado and atole drinks. There are natural flavored waters made of real fruit. Here is where the famous bacon wrapped hot dogs are sold with onions, jalapenos peppers, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise and the option to make it spicy. The place has natural homemade beef and chicken soups, grilled fish, fried cauliflower, shrimp cocktails and other foods and meals.“
“Love this place, makes me feel like I went back in time...Definitely a hidden gem! The food: chicken wings, pizza, pasta, etc... any foodie would appreciate. I highly recommend stopping there before any type of LA event.“

“I loved this place when I went to the truck and love it more, now that they have opened a brick and mortar near my house. First it is spotless, especially compared to what was there before. I have had most of the items on the menu and have enjoyed them all. It's not super pricey and the people are nice, as well as being locals. It is one of my go to places.“

“$3 fish tacos on wednesdays are pretty good. From the overall size not some mini version taco and the tortilla the fish tacos are served on they dont get soggy by the time you get home. Also they serve it with a sour cream/crema not mayonnaise like some places do. The fish itself battered with a light tasty crispiness overall a valued deal.“
