I am a foodie reviewer(ig:jwardhooper22)..We were here for my wife’s birthday dinner. The restaurant was very beautiful and clean on the inside and they had a huge patio with a big covering over it and there is basically no door to the restaurant you just walked through the patio. The food was good, but it was missing some. Didn't seem to me like authentic Cuban. I think it was more like a fusion between different Caribbean cuisines. It was good tho. The lechon asado to me needed some more citrus. Had mostly tender and moist meat, with some dry chunks mixed in. Ropa vieja was delicious, no complaints. I have just moved to OC and glad to have a great time at Isla. Food was yummy - the plantain chips, ceviche, sautéed garlic butter shrimps, oxtails, yuca fries, cocktails, etc. Ricardo was very helpful and gave us some great suggestions. Great service and atmosphere, would love to return soon!
