“Legit Chuncheon-style Dakgalbi.
When I go to Korea, I love eating dakgalbi. Specifically, Chuncheon-style, where the meat is cooked in a spicy sauce with vegetables and other items that you can often choose (e.g. rice cakes, ramen, udon noodles, cheese, etc). I've tried to find the best dakgalbi in Seoul, and I feel like I've only scratched the surface.
In the US, I've only had dakgalbi a few times, and before Mhat, I'd been consistently underwhelmed. But Mhat has changed what I think dakgalbi can be in the US. Mhat serves up a version that is excellent, much like the better spots that I've found in Seoul. I didn't get a cheese version, but then again, I'm not really into the Korean trend of putting cheese on everything, so things like dakgalbi and galbi jjim usually go without cheese.
In short, my favorite dakgalbi in the US so far.”

“This is a truly authentic Korean restaurant. I knew this is not a typical K-restaurant in the area after I tasted banchan on my first visit. Went again a week later for pork ribs and jungol, and surprised more. Glad I found my new fav.”

“Voted North OC’s favorite neighborhood Korean spot for decades, we are at Soy Tofu in La Palma. Yes, that one Korean restaurant next to Han Nam Chain aka Super1 in La Palma, CA. It feels like a secret because it’s as cozy and comforting as grandma’s house. This is a spot where everyone goes to for Sundubu (Korean Spicy Tofu Soup served boiling hot), or if they want Naengmyeon (Korean Buckwheat Noodles in a icy tangy broth) on hot summer day, or Bibimbap (Stone-pot Korean mixed rice filled with vegetables and meat with a spicy gochujang sauce and sesame oil)—just something comforting, and what they’re used to. This place has been there forever, and it’s under the same owner who wants to spoil us with her Korean recipes. Beyond the great service, delicious made in house banchan aka Korean sides , fresh ingredients and all the menu favorites, you can scoop your own free ice cream in a cone! I recommend Soy Tofu as a solid spot for anyone who is new or super critical about Korean food. It’s a guaranteed delicious spot.”

“Wife and I enjoyed our first Korean style shave ice, or Bing Soo. We ordered small size, one each of black sesame and mango cream flavors. Both were delucious, but at $13 each, it is a pricey dessert. It might be better to share, if you can agree on one flavor. Bing Soo house is actually located within the Korean supermarket of the strip mall. There are several restaurants in the strip mall, not shown on Google maps, including shops serving: Korean bbq, K broth, K noodles, & Pho.”

“I love this place! One of the servers is great, she always fills my plate. However, today at about 12:30pm I went to pick up lunch and the server, short lady, not the one who is normally there. Was literally talking on the phone the whole time I’m ordering my food. What bothered me is that I asked for sauce on the side but being she’s on the phone she apparently didn’t hear me and poured the sauce on the food. I lacked to check and once I get back to my destination my sweet and sour chicken is all soggy. Get off your phone be professional so you can pay attention to what is being asked from the customer.”

“Great food and wonderful service. The couple who owns this place is very sweet and always friendly. My favorite is their spicy pork bowl. It includes cabbage and pineapple, super delicious!”
“I’ve been making my way through all four locations, and I love that each one has its own vibe while keeping the same quality and menu across the board. This one is the larger one I’ve been to so far. During lunch hour on a week day… boy does it get busy!
The drinks are consistently good, especially if you’re into matcha, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciate. You can tell there’s intention behind the menu. My friend got the espresso tonic both times and loved it.
What stood out to me is that many of the baristas rotate between locations and are students from local colleges, which gives the whole place a really genuine, community feel.
It’s one of those spots that’s easy to come back to, whether you’re meeting a friend, getting work done, or just stopping by for a quick drink.”

“Nice lunch/takeout spot in the area. It is one of the reliable go-to place in the area.
Hainan chicken is nice and definitely lighter meals to go for. Fried is solid but better chances when the owner makes them himself. The price point is very approachable and nice. However, I find this place inconsistent with portion and service time-to-time.
I know big chains can be reliable but we need more restaurants like this that could provide you something different and wider options. I hope this place does well.”

“Great food and great service. This my go to spot for catering sushi. The owner usually just needs an hour notice to get your order going. I’ve gotten this catered on thanksgiving and today for Christmas. The food is fresh and presented with care.
It is open on holidays just call in advance to be sure. Thank you Sakai!
You get a discount for cash”
“Ribs are fatty, succulent and well seasoned. Cucumbers are refreshing and crunchy with a little spice! Wish they would give rice included in the ribs and not separate. Would recommend!!!”

“This was such a great experience at Boba Time La Palma! I ordered the X-Large Brown Sugar Milk with Boba and egg pudding—absolutely delicious. Perfectly sweet, creamy, with soft chewy boba and smooth egg pudding that made it even better. Definitely a 5-star drink, I’ll be coming back for more!”

“I've been a fan of Carl's Jr. for a long time, though I haven't been a regular in many years. I recently found myself returning to an old love. I was craving a Famous Star, and it was still juicy, delicious, and satisfying. The charbroiled taste and quality are still there.
Another favorite burger is the Western Bacon Cheeseburger, which I also got recently, and it still hits the spot. No one else has been able to do this type of burger better. I've enjoyed many of the other burgers as well and hope to try the new items on the menu.
This location is one of the few still nearest to me, while many have closed. The drive-thru service has been kind to me during late-night cravings as well. I've also ordered through the mobile app, and my meal was ready on time when I arrived to pick up.
I was surprised by the current prices, but, as with most fast-food spots, they offer mobile app ordering with rewards and deals. I still get coupons in the mail with tempting discounts. The service has been good whenever I've visited here. The dining area is also clean and spacious enough to enjoy a meal.”
