Nothing flashy, no Instagram gimmicks — just steaming bowls of hearty soup, beautifully chewy dumplings (I LOVE their dumplings, they’re my ride-or-die here), piles of fresh kimchi, and honest, satisfying flavors.

The atmosphere is no-frills but exactly what you want when you’re craving soul-warming sul lung tang or a healing haejang guk.

The banchan? Solid, classic, and plentiful. You leave full, happy, and with the kind of quiet joy only a truly good meal can give.

Not trying to impress, just trying to feed you well — and that’s what keeps me coming back.

“Voted North OC’s favorite neighborhood Korean spot for decades, we are at Soy Tofu in La Palma. Yes, that one Korean restaurant next to Han Nam Chain aka Super1 in La Palma, CA. It feels like a secret because it’s as cozy and comforting as grandma’s house. This is a spot where everyone goes to for Sundubu (Korean Spicy Tofu Soup served boiling hot), or if they want Naengmyeon (Korean Buckwheat Noodles in a icy tangy broth) on hot summer day, or Bibimbap (Stone-pot Korean mixed rice filled with vegetables and meat with a spicy gochujang sauce and sesame oil)—just something comforting, and what they’re used to. This place has been there forever, and it’s under the same owner who wants to spoil us with her Korean recipes. Beyond the great service, delicious made in house banchan aka Korean sides , fresh ingredients and all the menu favorites, you can scoop your own free ice cream in a cone! I recommend Soy Tofu as a solid spot for anyone who is new or super critical about Korean food. It’s a guaranteed delicious spot.“

“Tried the strawberry, mango, and injeolmi bingsu. The strawberry and mango were my favorites! The custard fish-shaped pastries were AMAZING, so I ordered some to go. 😍
A perfect spot for desserts with family and friends. Highly recommend.“

“The inside of the cafe is large and decorated very well and nicely. There is a lot of seating in the area for studying or just catching up. It is also located in an area with lots of parking.
Ordered the following:

- Pistachio Matcha Latte Cold foam
- Strawberry Latte

The staff was super nice and was able to adjust my drink for the pistachio matcha latte cold foam. It was very light and not super sweet and you can taste both the matcha and the pistachio in the drink. The strawberry latte didn't feel like puree was used but more infused into the coffee itself.

Overall, I liked the drinks and would like to come back to try other things on their menu!“

“Pretty good Thai food with a good amount of heat from their spicy dishes. The lady at the counter was very helpful and she gave some good recommendations for a first time customer. Their Hainanese chicken was surprisingly good with juicy chicken chucks and chicken broth infused bed of rice.“

“Lovely small restaurant and very affable chef. We have deep appreciation for all things hainan chicken given our family roots in singapore. The chicken had the right balance to the tongue, moist, steamed well and served at room temperature. The three sauces were also well done and balanced. The chicken rice was not overly oily, fragrant, right balance of garlic/pandan leaf. We also got the chashui bento as well and very nice cuts of the pork, well seasoned, not overly sweet with 3 beautiful sides. Would definitely come again. This can compete with the other Hainan chicken establishments in LA/OC (Savoy, Ipoh Kopitiam, Cluck2go), come and give it a try.“

“The best place to try Bosnian food! I can’t pick one favorite, from cevapi to pizza to pita , this food taste like homemade. All employees are nice and friendly, but the owner is an amazing human being, so humble and approachable, honest and relatable, love chatting with him every time we visit Cali, which is usually 2-3 times a year and we make sure we eat lunch and dinner at Sofra Urbana every day. “We had a great dining experience at Urban Plates in Long Beach. Mariana explained the menu choices in a very unrushed manner, and we decided on the steak. I ordered the Chimichurri grass-fed steak with balsamic brussel sprouts and herb-roasted potatoes. All of it was delicious ( and healthy too!). The deserts were absolutely killer too. “I read good reviews so we thought would go and give a try. Well the family and I had fantastic meal. My husband had a goat fish and said was very flavorful and tasty. For the kids (8, 11)we got a mild Lamb Korma and Butter chicken. With these I confirmed that they would be mild enough for the kids. The butter chicken and lamb korma even though was ordered as mild (no spice at all to it) it had an absolutely amazing flavor to it- perfect for kids. Now I have had a lot of butter chicken and hands down this was the best I have ever had. The chicken fried rice we ordered was very tasty as well. Highlight for my husband was the beer from India. He said it was very nice and complimented the food nicely.“

Again, tasty, tasty, tasty. Speak Cheezy sure seems to use high-end products in the creation of their pizzas and salads. Everything was top notch. If you're a fan of tteokbiki then this place elevates that experience.

From the customization and selection, it was a delicious experience .

If I had a choice between fried chicken and tteokbiki ( they sell both) i would normally eat more chicken.

But in this instance, I kept going back for tteokbiki more and more, completely forgetting the chickens existence.

This isn't do downgrade the chicken, the chicken was absolutely delicious, but I kept going back for more rice cakes.

“I stopped by this donut place the other morning and it honestly made my day. The moment I walked in, the smell of fresh donuts filled the whole shop. You could tell everything was made fresh because the trays were constantly being restocked.

I ordered a glazed donut and a cup of coffee, and the donut was warm, soft, and perfectly sweet. The glaze had that light crisp on the outside but melted as soon as I took a bite. It paired perfectly with the coffee.

The staff were really friendly too. They greeted everyone who walked in and made the place feel welcoming. It’s one of those simple spots that reminds you how good a fresh donut and good service can be. I’ll definitely be coming back the next time I’m craving something sweet.“

“My wife, her cousin, and I stopped by here after Sunday mass for breakfast. First of all, it's in an old schoolhouse, which in and of itself, is super cool. The restaurant is will kept, clean, and has very nice decor. The staff are warm, welcoming, and attentive. My wife ordered the turkey sandwich, her cousin, the fish and chips, and I ordered the chili cheese omelette. All three meals were delicious. This place is a gem.
