“First time visiting and staff is very friendly. Samantha helped me out as I was undecided with all the delicious options. I ordered the 2 Quesabirria taco plate. It came with rice, beans and consume. So delicious I order another to go. lol (Don’t judge me #foodlover). The restaurant is clean but was a bit warm. Had an AC on but in this heat, it was still a bit warm. Gave atmosphere 4 stars for that reason. Otherwise, very nice and chill spot. Samantha was great and very tentative.“

“It's been said in their reviews over and over again but I have to say it again. This is a hidden gem. Atmosphere: Family dining room with Grandma cooking in the kitchen. Happy regulars with family or friends or just singles enjoying a homemade meal. Service: Outstanding, you can't get more attentive, kind service. Cleanliness: Absolutely spotless. Food: It's wouldn't matter with all of the above but it is delicious. Prices are reasonable and to me, affordable. My only regret is I didn't find this gem sooner.“

“I was told about this place from an out of town coworker that has relatives near by. The owner/cook was very hospitable and everything was surprisingly low priced. Tacos were very tasty and well balanced. I would go back definitely. The only thing I didn’t really like was the parking lot cause its entrance is very close to a busy blvd with fast traffic. You have to exit very carefully. I recommend either parking in the back, side street or back in.“

“Came here for $1 tacos on Tuesday and Thursday. The tacos are your typical street taco and they have a taco bar to add all the cilantro and onions and so forth that you can add yourself. They also have esquite for $4. Two people can eat here for less than $10, I have no complaints about that.“

“Came in while we wait for an oil change and was greeted with such hospitality. While it is a restaurant it feels like a home here. There was only one man here working but he did acknowledge us right away. I ordered the Pupusas and when he was preparing my order I can hear him preparing them in the back BY HAND, not pre made. I think it's laziness so that they don't have to wash the dishes which is gross. The conversation that the cooks we're having was inappropriate specially in such an open kitchen. Where everybody sees and hears what you're doing. Especially children. No one was busting tables. Customers were coming in cleaning their own tables picking up the trash around the table. The cashier was very unfriendly. She didn't smile. Every question was an annoyance and the interaction felt rushed. They didn't even say thank you for coming when we left. We had tacos de asada and loaded potato with carne asada. The loaded potato came with a generous amount of tortillas. The combination didn't mix.“

“Amazing Sope Tacos Desvelados is basically a thick tortilla with lots of tasty things on top of it. The base is made from masa dough, which is cooked until the outside gets crispy and the inside stays soft and chewy. Each bite tastes great because of the different textures that are mixed together.“

Ordered 3 quesabirria tacos with a bit of a special request, and Mike came through no problem. That kind of flexibility already sets the tone, but the food backed it up completely. The meat was perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. You can tell it’s well-seasoned and handled with care, not rushed or thrown together.

Everything tasted fresh, and the tacos hit exactly how quesabirria should—rich, satisfying, and done right.

“Food was great. I loved the chips and salsa. I had huevos con chorizo and my husband had machaca. He is pickier than me and stated he wanted to return. That machaca must have been good. The breakfast potatoes were nice and crispy. Who can say no to hand made corn tortillas. The cafe de olla was free since we were early for breakfast. Nice detail. I did not give them five stars because I noticed that the chorizo was heavier on the garlic than I like and the tortillas were a little on the thick side. I would have given them a 4.8 if I could! But I will definitely be returning. Got to try their chilaquiles.“

“Chiefs taco truck is cool. He parks his cart in front of his business which is called chiefs roadside antiques. So you can have some tacos and check out his antique store which is open.The burritos are very good, I also ordered the quesadilla frita which is so tasty. The salsa is good and they make their own Agua Frescas“

“I've been coming to El Buen Gusto ever since it was in Pico Rivera on Slauson. I moved down to Laguna Beach when I was 18 and had not been back since. I was up on the Whittier side of town and saw this place. A lot of memories resurfaced and decided to stop for old time sake.
Our hostess was very welcoming, warming, attentive and funny. However she didn't know what non-fat water and gluten free ice was. Nonetheless, I ordered the Chilaquiles. The presentation and taste of my meal was something similar to what my grandma or my mom would plate. I'm glad I stopped by, I don't make it up here to this side of town that often yet my next trip up here will definitely warrant stopping by for a quick meal.
For those who live close by you're extremely fortunate to have El Buen Gusto in your neighborhood.
As for location they are located at the southeast corner of Beverly and Norwalk Blvd's. It's not that far off the 605 frwy. If you're heading east on Beverly Blvd it's on the right just as you cross Norwalk. If you're directionally challenged, it's right next door to weeny-dog.
You can't go wrong with the comfort food of El Buen Gusto.

“Mariscos Sol Y Mar is so good. You will love it. It is a small chain, but each place is a little different. We really like this one. It is not huge and I think a lot of their food is to go and they also deliver. It is super clean and the people that work there seem happy.

The service is great and they are pretty fast. I don't know if they take reservations, we just walk in and have never had a wait more than 5 minutes.

It is really cute inside and it is comfortable. Some of them also have outdoor seating.

We love all of their fish dishes. They have the best shrimp cocktails and the ones we get have avocado on them. The sauce is great and the shrimp is fresh.

Any fish taco you want will be super. If you get a plate of food it comes with beans and the best rice, it is not the orange rice, it is white and ever so tasty. It does not matter what you order, it is all good.
