“Great customer service! It was my first time there, and they gave me samples of their toppings since I couldn’t decide. I appreciate that they have caffeine-free options with their wintermelon drink! ☺👌🏼“

“Delicious ube boba! I ordered the Purple Yam Fresh Milk with oat milk, 25% sugar, and boba.
Customer service was also good! My husband didn’t know what to order, and the server helped him choose something that hit the spot.“

“My first time here but this is one of my niece's go to when in the area. The place itself was pretty busy but the line moves fast. I ordered the matcha vanilla oat latte. It wasn't too sweet and the matcha was not lost in the vanilla and oat milk. It was a refreshing drink that I can keep drinking all day long. The place was busy but clean. We placed our order on the kiosk and the people who gave us our our was super nice.“
“Good prices got me inside.
Good drink quality.
XL drink size available.
Nice place.
I love the Pokemon theme.
Plenty of parking on this side of the shopping plaza!!!
Okay seating quantity.
Average seating quality.
I will definitely come back.“
“X Tea Cafe is definitely my favorite tea shop lately! The brown sugar boba milk tea is rich in tea flavor with just the right amount of sweetness, and the boba is perfectly chewy and soft — absolutely delicious. The shop is clean and bright with a cozy atmosphere, making it a great place to relax and chat with friends. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Highly recommend to anyone who loves high-quality tea drinks!“

“Jessica was super sweet!
I came in wanting to get a milky boba but was not too familiar with the menu, she let me sample the 4 milk teas from in order of lightest to strongest
Green milk tea
Earl milk tea
Black milk tea
Oolong milk tea
:) definitely a very good vibe
I ended up getting the black milk tea with 30% sugar“
“I've recently purchased a box to try and have been impressed with the quality. I must have purchased a box that had quality control issues because I found an empty bag within the first two bags I pulled from the box. I contacted uncle lees and they went beyond my expectations and sent me two free boxes of tea! Well done!“

“My favorite drink is Coffee Milk Tea with topping Honey Sea Salt Cream 😋“
“Boba and coffee shop with smoothies, matcha, and most of the drink options offered at your standard boba place. The owner was so nice and offered to adjust the flavor on the drink to get it to be perfect. Will definitely be coming back as they develop their menu. Cute, cute ambience and plenty of sunlight. Good place to bring the family or a good book. Thank you for the experience!“
“This review is a long time coming! I came here 3 times between Oct 2022 and April 2023, bringing friends (some new and some repeats) for tea tastings. You can try 5 teas per tasting with 5 steepings per tea (for time's sake and not because of flavor dissipation). There is such a wide and ever-changing selection of teas so there's always more to try than you could possibly ever drink!Tea habitat specializes in Chinese teas, but since that's already a lot of area to cover, you'll find something for everyone's tastes. The owner is hilarious, and we all enjoyed interacting not only with the tea and each other, but also with her. We definitely leave tea drunk :)I usually put some tasting notes for the teas in my reviews, but notes for 15 teas is a bit excessive so I'll just share a couple of my favorites. The 2022 Tai Ping Hou Kui Wild Grown 1st pick is almost matcha-like, velvety soft with a slight nuttiness. The flavor mellows over the steepings into a clean mouthfeel with subtle floral bouquet. The 2022 Xiao Ye Tu Cha Wild Native (white) Varietal Small Leaf was super interesting! It started with a sweet aroma and reminded me inexplicably of soy milk (a mix of slight creaminess and nuttiness, maybe), but with juicy mouth feel. The creamy berry sweetness really predominates in the second steeping, and there is a subtle almost umami tendency in the third steeping.I also bought a Chao Zhou red clay teapot to brew Phoenix Dan Cong teas at home!To buy to bring home, the prices of the tea leaves really range, with (of course) the really high quality teas being pricier (but oh are they good!). This is not my go-to place to stock up tea for every day drinking (can't quite afford that and some personal preferences), but it's a great treat for tea lovers to be able to access and experiment with a variety of Chinese teas. Definitely a fun experience, especially with friends!“

West Lake Longjing Tea (明前)(西湖龍井茶--龍塢茶村) $148.00 for 8 oz.
Bird Pick Glorious Paradise $6.50/0.5 oz. (2 rosettes)
Bird Pick Sprinkle Stars Tin $19.99 for 2 oz.
I stopped by Wing Hop Fung to restock on loose leaf teas; it's generally best to buy around November - December because they offer discounts (usually 10% - 30%) for VIP members; this visit was 20% with a random 30% & 40% on select flavors. I typically purchase a half dozen, but this time I went double digits because my son wanted to try a couple.
I left a couple of bags over the summer while visiting my MIL, so I needed to restock. Judy was handling the counter & brewed samples of High Mountain Tie Guan Yin (aka goddess tea), which had a nice roasted & sweet tang. I also tried the Rose Black Tea, which had a fragrant floral taste.
I picked a few of my usual & tried a couple of new blossoming teas: Dancing Butterfly & Delightful Bouquet (my fav Peach Fairy is no longer stocked), & mostly green teas with an oolong & white tea. Most of my picks are in the mid-range, & usually purchase between 1/4 - 1/2 oz., with the occasional 1 lb. of my favorite of the day. My fav oolong, Phoenix Yellow Stone Oolong (天仙獻福工藝茶) wasn't in stock; I love the mellow & smooth taste with strong honey aroma. These tea trees in Guangdong have been there since the Song Dynasty & were once only reserved for royalty, so this tea is still rare due to its limited production. I'm not sure if this is also discontinued but I haven't seen it on my last 2 visits. \(`0´)/
It was nice chatting Judy, giving me an opportunity to practice my Cantonese (廣州話), but customers kept interrupting my order so it took longer than necessary with just 1 person behind the counter, & the fact that I usually sample 1 - 2 teas & sniff the teas before buying. No tea comps from 阿姨 for this large purchase. If M wasn't with me, I might have asked to sample a couple more teas. ;-) There’s a stack of aged pu-erh teas that are almost a decade old, ranging from $99.99 - $2,399.99/lb. (top to bottom). Wowza!
I also stocked up some snacks & found a cute kitty mug for my niece; she's been newly inducted to drinking loose leaf teas so I'm sharing my load as part of her Christmas gift. I need to find her a clear teapot for the blossoming teas. I wanted to pick-up guilinggao (龟苓膏) & bird's nest (燕窩), but didn't see any & already overstayed because the l'il guy was getting impatient so I skipped it/didn't ask about them.
I'm sad that they're no longer in Chinatown; they currently only have 2 locations: Monterey Park & Arcadia (The Shops at Santa Anita). Still not a frequent patron but a loyal one, I always look forward to restocking my tea supplies here & practicing my Cantonese.
Recommended: Loose teas (listed above), Bird Pick Glorious Paradise, Bird Pick Sprinkle Stars.“
“Their matcha is the best! Today I might get a chawan (matcha bowl), so that’s exciting. Also, since the chawan bowls over there don’t have a spout they are tradition, because ORIGINALLY people in Japan used to and still now, had made matcha without milk, without sweeter, ONLY pure matcha and water, which they drank out of the Chawan.“

“My go-to boba spot! This Lollicup location is hands down my favorite. Their drinks are always consistent, and I never leave without ordering the popcorn chicken, it’s a must. The staff is super friendly and quick, making the whole experience even better. 10/10 recommend the milk tea with boba!“

“I had a Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea with no ice and level 1 (of 5) sweetness. I really enjoy freshly brewed milk tea (freshly brewed after order is placed) compared to milk tea prepared with tea that was brewed well in advance, had been sitting on the shelf for who knows how long, and used only after the order is placed. I definitely recommend to try their boba tea.“

“And they were having a promotion where if I leave a review, I get a free drink so I’m grateful for that. The tea was good. There was only a little bit of miscommunication with customizing a drink and they make you do the review before they give you the drink so other than that I will definitely come back.“

“Tiny little place serving up food well above its weight class! Really good food! The chef even came out to personally ask us how the food was. So nice! Really interesting decor too! I'd come back with my date! But the place is tiny, so if there's no seating inside, and it's too hot or cold to eat outside, take it to go! The food is worth giving a new home in your belly!“
“Their rock oolong tea is really something. Smooth, slightly earthy, and just hits the right note without feeling heavy—it’s got that vibe you want when you’re taking a pause. Tbh, the place felt pretty quiet while I was there, which worked for me. Service was chill, not overly chatty but attentive enough to make you feel sorted. Not much else caught my eye, but that tea? Would defo tell my friends to try it out if they’re into oolong.“

“I have been coming here for multiple times for their drinks and so far I love it!
It is a small place for a boba shop but it is a pretty good place to chill when the place is not crowded. The servers are very nice and patient when you are ordering your drinks. The place in general are clean, even with the restroom.
The drinks are fantastic in my opinion, no matter what sweetness level you are going for. My personal favorite/ to-go are the rose cream foam milk tea or formosa ocean. Trust me, I think you will like them if you are a sweet tooth-er or Rose lover. (Good looking drinks for pictures too!)
Try their origanal flavored Formosa Umeyaki too! They are not only pretty for pictures, but crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside, specifically when they are freshly made. Great desserts matching with your drinks!“

“My family and I frequent here quite often and every single time, the drinks were on point! Thai tea, Thai-chata, strawberry vortex, pineapple escape, milky way taro, polar pomegranate are just a few that I've tried and would recommend but everything including food is so good. Their customer service is also great! Always a pleasant experience for us. We've "cheated" and have gone to other boba places when traveling but it's not the same. Twisteas definitely has our loyalty!“

“I got the Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea and Osmanthus Jelly as the topping and it was soo good. Slightly less fragrant than Chagee, but they make up for it with the topping. Really good and I'd come back. The manager though could be friendlier.“

“Great experience at Tea Maru yesterday. Found out about it through Groupon, and appreciate the fact that they make their own boba in house.
Important note: Mango Boba is only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!
I got the Mango Slush with Strawberry Boba, which featured a nice layer of ice cream, mango slush (at 25% sweet), and delicious homemade boba. The place is small, mostly built for takeout but there are a few decent seats. Song selection immaculate.“

“Checked out this Taiwanese tea spot in San Gabriel and it’s got a really old-school, traditional vibe (in a good way). They’ve got classic snacks like egg waffles (雞蛋糕) and wheel cakes (車輪餅), plus a solid lineup of traditional Taiwanese teas.
You can still add toppings to your drinks, but the flavors lean more classic—not super trendy or overly sweet. If you’re into that OG Taiwan taste, you’ll probably like it. Prices are pretty reasonable too.
The shop is tiny though, so it’s basically a grab-and-go spot. Also, parking can be kind of a pain around there, so just be prepared.
Overall, low-key spot but a good one if you’re craving something more traditional.“

“If I could give 1000 stars!!! Mama wang was the absolute kindest and sweetest! My husband and I came in to buy a matcha bowl and tea! She was making matcha and shared some with us and it was so yummy ! You can just tell how selfless of a person she is. Thank you so much for welcoming us into your shop as if we were family🤍“
