“So excited and proud Sugarbird finally has a storefront. My family and I have followed Chef & Owner Kei since it first started and only had regular priority mail delivery and pickup from a co-op location in Downtown LA. I stopped by after the Montrose Farmers Market, where Sugarbird was before and I believe still is for other Farmers Markets, and Kei herself was managing the store. She was nice and really excited to finally have her own storefront. I got a free tea, free clotted cream, the tea sandwich set, six scones (ube, lemon blueberry, matcha, fig & rosemary, passionfruit & earl grey) and shortbread cookies.“

I love one from a highly caffeinated one to a calming one! She has lots of great sweet treats too! Love how it’s unique and small business owned! I call her and she has my tea already made for me! “I haven’t been here for decades. I use to come here with my mom and sister to get some boba or tea to drink, yet now I come alone for the Honey Chrysanthemum tea and it’s pretty good. The staff was friendly and if there is anything you need help with, they’d be more than welcome to assist you. I love the atmosphere as well😊“

“Happily stumbled across this cozy boba shop on accident. The staff will treat you very friendly and you’ll receive a high quality drink. I’m just not sure if it’s always that cold in there or what the purpose of that would be, but it was definitely noticeable during my brief visit“

“Booked a tea tasting with Imen through her online website with a friend. We both did the Chao zhou style which is so unique! As an avid tea drinker, I don't come across the chao zhou brewing method often so it was such a unique experience. My friend flew in from Philadelphia for this! Imen is highly reputable as a tea master in the Los Angeles area and popular for her Phoenix Oolong Tea. I originally found her through the Reddit and was so excited to get an appointment with her. We bought so many teas after. Highly recommend for an authentic gong fu tea tasting and experience!! I will be back to try her other tea classes and workshops.“

“We were a bit stuffed on boba so didn't end up having this drink until 1.5 days later, but it was still so delicious! We got the calamansi shiso drink, which had a lovely fruity citrus flavor paired with light tea and silk tea boba. The silky jelly was so delicious and paired so well with the drink. We added a final pit stop at the nearest Odd One Out immediately after trying this drink.“

“I've been coming to the Pasadena Chado Tea Room every few months for the past two years. It is in a nice location in Old Town. The service is attentive and the ambiance is very nice. I think it's a good value for the money and one of the lesser expensive afternoon tea venues around. You get a full tea service including scones, finger sandwiches and little desserts. I do have to say that the food is “ok” - the chicken sandwich has been dry on my last two visits. I haven't been blown away by the taste of the food. But if you want to do tea on a budget, this is a good choice and a pleasant experience.“

“I've been to many cafes along the California coast. If you judge by vibe, peacefulness, and coffee quality, this place is an absolute 10 out of 10. Hands down, it's the best cafe in LA. It’s perfect for studying, catching up with friends, or even hosting events. The interior uses a lot of warm textures to create a calm and serene atmosphere. Great spots just make great coffee.“

“I have been coming here for multiple times for their drinks and so far I love it!
It is a small place for a boba shop but it is a pretty good place to chill when the place is not crowded. The servers are very nice and patient when you are ordering your drinks. The place in general are clean, even with the restroom.
The drinks are fantastic in my opinion, no matter what sweetness level you are going for. My personal favorite/ to-go are the rose cream foam milk tea or formosa ocean. Trust me, I think you will like them if you are a sweet tooth-er or Rose lover. (Good looking drinks for pictures too!)
Try their origanal flavored Formosa Umeyaki too! They are not only pretty for pictures, but crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside, specifically when they are freshly made. Great desserts matching with your drinks!“

“Solid matcha spot. I got the matcha late unsweetened and it was the perfect balance between milk and matcha— I was able to enjoy the matcha without it being overpowered by the milk. The texture was also thicker which I enjoy in my matcha lattes. Depending on when you go there may be a long wait. The place is small and very busy.“

“It used to sell more supermarket type goods, whereas now, it’s more expensive teas and tea ware, electronics, wine and dried goods. It’s majority tea related stuff, so, it’s a good place to look for most kinds of Chinese teas, especially loose leaf and tea cakes.“

“This is one the best boba I’ve ever had, beating a lot of the bobas in Taiwan, including Xing Fu Tung in San Gabriel.

None of that plastic boba you’d get from other bobas in Pasadena or most socal boba places.
