Matsu Matcha Koreatown Reviews
Came here with a friend because she saw one of the drinks going kind of viral online. That said, we got a regular Matcha Latte, and of course, the Little Sheep Matcha. The Matcha Latte tasted pretty average, but something about it didn't quite sit just right. It had a faint, bitter taste. Matsu Matcha Koreatown is a cute spot to stop by when exploring DTLA. The dark chocolate ice cream is rich and delicious, while the guava matcha latte has a unique fruity twist. One reviewer loved matcha but gave up on it in the US since it wasn’t authentic and too sweet, but Matsu Matcha didn’t let them down. They went 4 times in a month, trying the ultra matcha latte, parfait, and gelato—all good. Another visit brought a customer right back to Japan, with the matcha latte with #1 ice-cream downed within minutes, and the hojicha latte and ice cream also up there. The #3 uji matcha is not too bitter, not too sweet (if you choose 50% sweetness), a perfect balance, and the gelato with matcha latte is recommended. The banana pudding Matcha hooked a first-time matcha drinker. The taste didn’t compare to Starbucks (12 scoops) or matcha back in Vietnam for one true tea lover, who found it a bit disappointing since it’s pre-made in batches. The plaza has all valet parking.
