I ordered the strawberry slush but removed the ice cream. It comes with boba and u can choose which one using the substitution. Adding a topping is $0.85 per topping if its boba and more for other toppings. I had mango boba, which is only available on weekends and fridays. The boba is pretty good and freshly made, although the quality can sometimes vary. A stable with the SGV is Tea Maru. Tea Maru has been around for decades and I often find myself visiting again from time to time. Over the years, they've been consistent with their drinks and added plenty of menu options. Happy to say that they're still going strong as of today.

I bought a $5.99 Too Good To Go blind box. The Taiwanese tea spot store is a fairly simple interior. The tgtg order came with two surprise drinks: a jasmine green tea and a milk green tea. The green tea was a bit bitter, while the milk tea seemed like it might be better.
As for the topping boba pearls in the milk tea, they were on the harder side compared to other shops, but I couldn’t really tell any other difference in taste or texture.

Tea Maru is a boba spot in the SGV known for its house made boba made fresh daily. The owner makes the boba herself from the front, and flavors include regular brown sugar, strawberry, mango and sweet potato boba. The place is small, mostly built for takeout but with a few decent seats. Popular drinks include the Mango Slush with Strawberry Boba or Brown Sugar Boba, which features a nice layer of ice cream and delicious homemade boba. The Grapefruit fantasy has really strong tea flavor, and the oolong milk tea with brown sugar boba is delicious and slightly sweet. Milk teas are tasty, and there are refreshing non caffeinated options too. Note that Mango Boba is only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Some customers found the boba too hard or the serving size a little less than other shops, but the staff are gracious and will redo a drink if needed. The front staff are good at modifying drinks and taking care of boba business.
