“Food/Taste/ - good food overall. We ordered beef belly, lamb, pork intestines, king oyster mushrooms, and chicken wings. The chicken wings are amazing! Nicely seasoned and very moist; probably the best item we ate. The mushrooms are good but the earthiness is completely covered by the seasoning so not our favorite. Beef belly was a bit bland, the lamb was mostly seasoning but delicious, and the pork intestine was great. - very quiet during lunch hour in the spacious restaurant. The two chairs are the exact size of the table so it's fairly difficult to push in and out of your seat if you're shifted either direction. - server definitely felt like she didn't want to be there. The table next to us asked for their candles to be lit so the food stayed warmer and she gave a heavy sigh before walking away to get the lighter. When she delivered the skewers, she threw it on the plate without a word then walked away immediately.Value for - yummy food in general, service was quick but cold, and reasonable pricing.“
“I recently visited Boiling Point and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. Unlike other similar establishments, this Boiling Point location stood out to me in several ways. Firstly, I found the taste of the food to be superior, which made my dining experience even more enjoyable.Additionally, I appreciated that the waiting time was relatively short compared to what I've experienced at other places. This made the entire dining process more convenient and efficient. Most notably, I was satisfied to discover that I could order unlimited rice and receive double the amount of meat. This added value to my meal and left me feeling very satisfied with my dining experience.Overall, I highly recommend Boiling Point for its delicious food, short waiting times, and generous serving options. I will definitely be returning for more!“
“Omg!! The food was soooooo delicious I couldn't stop eating it!! Long was so attentive and sweet taking care of us the entire time!! Anything I needed he was there to bring it and help us!! Please come here and if you get Long you'll have not only the best server but best easy time !! :)“
“Place is always wonderful. Spacious, fast, and clean. This branch is particularly great. Individual pots, lots of variety and fast servicePeople are very nice here and are very attentive. Cannot as for better service.Food here is always great. They come out very fast and they always have fresh food.“
“I want to go there every day if I could. There are ample parking places, and the place is packed on weekends.Their lunch menu A is only $16.99, which is insanely low today with all the inflation, I honestly don't know how they can make money. You have to order the soup base and meat from the servers, rest are all self-serving. There is a snack bar with sesame balls, fries and spring rolls for the kids, and there are a line of freezers with literally everything, from veggies to seafood to tripe.Food is fresh given they move through everything pretty fast, for the price there is really nothing to complain.“
“The golden chicken soup base is very rich and delicious, especially the Japanese A5 Wagyu beef, which is sweet, smooth and tender and melts in your mouth! The food is fresh and there is nothing wrong with it. I will definitely come back again. It was a great experience “
“If you haven’t been here before the setup might be confusing. You should head all the way to the back, go to the cashier, tell him the number of people, get a table number from him, and then get a bowl and start putting stuff you want in the bowl. The bowl is weighed and charged by the pound, but you don’t pay until you’re done eating. Then you hand the bowls to the cashier to order what type of soup you want. They hand you order numbers and you go to your table and just wait for them to bring you food. You can also make sauces at the sauce station. When you’re finished, bring your bowls back to the front and pay. Also note that you get one tong for picking up all the foods, so if cross contamination is a concern or you have food allergies, this might not be the best place to go.The lady in the front was not helpful and just shouted Chinese at us and acted like we were in her way for not knowing the rules. Some of the customers tried to help us too, but they should really just post the rules outside the store or in front of the front door to help newcomers. I think if you look East Asian, they will assume you speak Mandarin, so you should mention that you don’t speak it to clear the air. The rest of service was fine and nice, just the initial confusion didn’t feel very good.“
“It’s SUPER delicious!!!!❤️I am originally from Chengdu, away from hometown for 3 years, this hotpot and Chuanchuan really makes me feel home! I heard from the lady boss that the chef is an old hotpot master in his eighties, it’s really authentic!I even brought the soup home for cooking?? There is no one else who packs hot pot base ingredients?Great service!Totally recommend!“
“Good! Very casual place to eat with great service!Waitress was attentive and very helpful. The food was all good and at a very good price. For the 5 of us, we spent $77and that was with meals for each one of us, Would go back for a relaxed lunch or dinner.“
“Definitely my *fave* hotpot spot in LA right now! Their soup broth is so hearty and the meat is beyond fresh!!! High recommend the spicy, tomato and bone broth combo. As for the dishes love love love the fried pork, fresh pork meatballs, beef short rib and pork belly! Totally skip the beef balls and hand cut beef.“
“I love this place. I've been going since I was a little kid (that was 20+ years ago). The staff and service is always so friendly and attentive. I love their Bún Chả Giò Chay. It's my regular order! They have a solid selection of Vegan Vietnamese food and very affordable prices. If you're looking for real Vietnamese Vegan food, this is the spot!“
“Wow! What a wonderful experience! We had an early dinner on a Thursday evening to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. It was busy, but we were sat almost right away. The ambiance of the restaurant is the first thing that hit me. It was very dark, but in comforting way. It is a very small place. The server walked us through their choices and we were immediately served. We chose their silver level. The bone marrow and toast was crazy delicious. It was full of umami flavor. It was the perfect way to start off. We ordered the spicy miso and the house broth. Both were great. The spicy miso wasn't too spicy at the beginning, but rather rich and flavorful. It did build on the spice level when it became a bit more concentrated. The house was mild and light. These soups were refilled at appropriate times as well. The meats that were served with this were melt in your mouth amazing and only took a second to cook. The veggie platter that accompanied it was a nice assortment. They also had a serve your self rice/ condiment bar. It was very clean and had a great assortment of sauces. My favorite was mixing the sesame with a bit of soy sauce and spicy chilies. It also included eggs, rice and minced beef. We had three rounds of the amazing meat and finished up the veggies. We finished our meal with the green tea ice cream at the self serve station. It is a bit pricy, but worth every penny in my opinion. I can't wait to come back.Parking: Parking in the lot right in front of the restaurant was available for an early dinner on a Thursday. They also have parking around the back of the building as well.“
“First time trying this spot and was pleasantly surprised at the portion of the skewers and the price is decent. The beef skewers were tender and I love the beef with pineapple! Only wished there were more seafood options and items at the snack bar but overall loved the spicy house soup base and really liked they did have good selection of veggies. Would definitely come back again!“
“Had a good time hanging out with my friends. Self-service picking ingredients: vegetables, meat, fish balls, shrimps, noodles, tofu, etc. You pay per pound. I feel good with a lot of varieties. After picking ingredients, you can choose soup from four different soup bases. They will cook and serve you in a big bowl. I love marinated chicken gizzards. I tried mild spicy original bone soup. Would love to try the same soup with medium spiciness and also tom yum soup.“
“Little Pan was a delicious stop for some Shanghainese cuisine. The star of the show was definitely the Stone-cooked Tasty Pebble Crispy Grass Carp. The fish was cooked with hot rocks in a sizzling pot. The texture was bouncy it almost felt like thinly sliced pork belly. For the stir-fry, I opted for the Wagyu Beef with Black Pepper. The beef was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the black pepper sauce had a nice kick without being overpowering. The Szechuan Style Chicken in Chili Sauce was another winner. The chicken was juicy and well-coated in a spicy and flavorful sauce. It was the perfect level of heat.Little Pan's mini pan-fried buns are a must-try! I had two varieties: the beef with a refreshing pineapple drink and the pork with a unique specialty orange drink. Both were delicious, with soft and fluffy dough encasing savory fillings. The drinks attached to the bowl of buns was a cool gimmick. To finish off the meal, I had a Tanghulu - Hawthorne. This candied hawthorn berry on a skewer was a sweet and tangy treat, a perfect ending to a satisfying meal.Overall, Little Pan was a great experience. The food was delicious and authentic, and the service was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the mood for some Shanghainese cuisine!“
“The food is amazing, the place is clean, and the staff was nice and polite. They have a 1 and a half hour time limit, so don't be surprised when they try to kick you out. A bit too loud with people talking and the music, but if you enjoy those environments, go ahead. I enjoyed it.Parking: They have a parking lot with room for many cars so enjoy.Kid-friendliness: I saw a few toddlers and they gave them a high seat so I think kids can go there.“
“A quick in and out for sliced meat. Whether it's for our shabu nights, stir fry dishes, or grilling, we like to use the beef slices here instead of getting it inside the GW market. For $10, you can get a pound of sliced meat. We usually get the angus and lamb slices. You can also ask for fattier or leaner slices of the angus, or get half and half. Come prepared with cash, I think they have a minimum for card. They also have other types of meats such as skewers, and they have other ingredients that are commonly used for hotpot.“
“100% recommend this place. Ordered: -Potato Noodle -Fried Chicken Pro: -Potato noodle was really good. Chewy and savory. We got the seafood meatballs but they also have a beef one. The broth was spicy and not too heavy tasting. -The chicken was savory sweet, a bit sticky and a delight to eat! There are a lot of bones and the meat is slightly chewy which makes a pleasant texture. -Interior was clean, bright and cute -Plenty of parking inside the structure -Price is reasonable Con: -No credit card payment under $30“
“The best service I've seen at a Shabu place!I'm allergic to peanuts and eggs, which most Shabu places I've found have not been very accommodating. But Miss Shabu has the most friendly staff as they wrote on the menu notes on what foods I'm allergic to and which ones are good. They were very efficient with setting up our table of 16 and were flexible when we had less people than expected. The food was really good for a decent price. For dinner and drinks and tea, we spent about $50 and got 2 different soup bases, had many different types of sides, and plates on top of plates of meat. Definitely recommend this Shabu place if you were looking for one in Buena Park.“
“Excellent AYCE hot pot place! There’s an attention to detail to the dining experience that I really appreciate. They have a lifting hot pot separator so you see what you put inside. Service is quick and friendly and never seems like they are limiting you in any way. The meats are high quality and thinly cut, the veggies selection is abundant and cleanly maintained, the sauces selection is good, there’s some appetizers and a soda machine. They have some deals sometimes, which usually happen on weekdays. Totally underrated!Spicy brother and mushroom soup base are my preferred duo.“
“One of my favorite Sichuan Pot in the area. They use plenty of food and sauce inside the broth. For the Fish fillet and Frog in Sichuan Mala Broth, it's the size for two people with many fish fillet and frogs inside the large pot. Though it's a little bit spicy, the proteins are pretty good with the fantastic taste. The staff told me that their boss asked them to add enough food to ensure customers' satisfaction. What a great experience of dining here. Attention to adjust the spicy level for any one of the pots.“
“We had the dim sum towards the end of service. The dim sum here was good, and is cheaper than going to an a la carte dim sum place. Adding drinks was only another 1.50, and you get a pretty good selection.Lina was great in helping us with the experience, as she explained the AYCE rules and was accommodating to all of our questions. She had even helped me bring things back to the table when she saw me struggling.Overall I would come back.“
“I was brought to this restaurant by a close family member and it's one of the best ramen places I've been to. I loved their ramen bowl serving and the Naruto ambiance. I can definitely see myself going back to this place again. I ordered the Naruto Chasu “
“I've never really had Ramen before, but I am officially a fan after coming here. The service was on point the same lady was assisting all four tables with complete ease. She was refilling everyone's water asking if we needed anything. She was on top of all of it even answering the phone and just from hearing other people telling her that they enjoy the meals I know it's not just me saying it. I think it's safe to say everyone in there had a great meal tonight. The restaurant itself is not too big. There is about six or seven tables in there with several chairs to each table and comfy couches to sit on. It's not the biggest restaurant but it's perfect the way it is all of the Naruto decor was pretty cool to see too. I love how they had pictures up and drawings up. It just made it feel more homelike and I appreciate that vibe. I ordered the udon noodles in my Ramen because I prefer the thicker noodles and was not disappointed at all super yummy. Super tasty. Lots of flavor packed into the bowl. Nothing was overpowering as a perfect amount of flavor. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my time tonight.“
“Was craving for some quick hotpot on a cold day and this place definitely hit the spot I tried their stinky tofu hotpot and it did not disappoint. There's a decent amount of meat in there and other ingredients as well. I wish the broth was a bit stronger in terms of flavor but it was delicious. They have a sauce station where you get to put together your own sauce. Service was friendly and the food didn't take too long to come out. I actually prefer this over boiling point because of the less wait and the food is just as good, if not better.“
“This place stands out for anyone seeking genuine Chinese hotpot on skewers and a welcoming atmosphere. The spicy pot is really spicy so be prepared! Highly recommended for its good food and great service, especially if you're a fan of a little heat in your meal.“
“Great spot if you like mala (numbing and spicy) hotpot. It's Chongqing style, so spicy means spicy, and there are quite a few Sichuan peppercorns floating around--some don't like that, but I love it and that's exactly what I was looking for. They do have split pots so that you can get half spicy half not if you have a group with mixed preferences. Service was really good, and the sauce bar was legit, complete with all the most important elements in quantity for mixing up a dipping sauce just how you like it. It also had a good selection of other snacks, mostly carbs, but also a really nice pickled radish. Could be improved with a little fruit, like some sliced cantaloupe or something, but I'm not complaining.“
“One of the better hotpot places locally and possibly a new favorite. Ingredients are fresh and the sauce bar has a plethora of snack choices. Although not all you can eat, the prices are very fair and surprisingly low for such quality.Service was pretty fast. The atmosphere is historic in a very cozy way.“
“Shabuya is the largest all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu restaurant I know. It offers unlimited supplies of meat, vegetables, seafood, and various options of ingredients for shabu-shabu. After choosing the soup I want, I simply need to select the type of meat and request it from the server. However, during busy times, it's advisable to order in advance to avoid waiting for the server for too long, as it can be frustrating. They provide various vegetables, seafood, dumplings, tofu, noodles, and more, so I can take as much as I want and make my own sauce. Once I've chosen my soup and added various seafood and vegetables to enhance the flavor, I start my meal. Personally, I enjoy adding seafood to the broth for flavor and dipping it in hot sauce, then adding meat first and enjoying it with vegetables alternately.I recommend finishing about 90% of the meal and then enjoying the remaining 10% with udon, ramen, dumpling soup, or other desired choices. Among them, I highly recommend adding eggs and rice to make egg porridge, which is the best way to conclude the meal. The egg porridge, made by boiling the remaining vegetables and meat, always tastes exquisite. I highly recommend this restaurant where you can enjoy making and eating delicious meals yourself.Parking: The parking lot size is large, but on weekends, it's not easy to find space, so you may need to park a bit further away.“
“My wife loves the Hibiscus Tree Combo #1 loaded with marinated beef, shrimp, beef tripe, crab stick, fish ball, spam, quail egg, bean curd, bean sprouts, enoki mushrooms, black fungus, winter melon. So much great stuff inside. We use DoorDash for food deliveries. But I've came by twice to pick up takeout. The parking lot is always full and hard to find parking so we prefer DoorDash and let them deal with the parking situation.“
“My husband and I come every Sunday to eat a medium dry pot. Food is very good, the portions are huge and the staff is very friendly. We've tried almost every combination and everything is fresh and tasty.Parking: Don't even waste your time with upstairs parking. Park downstairs so you can hurry up and eat.“
“If you are into spicy Chinese food, then you will love this place. This eatery serves Chengdu style food (a sub-part of Szechuan cuisine). It had the same 麻辣 taste for all of their dishes (literal translation: numb & hot pepper spicy) as in a typical Szechuan dish. Numbing effects came from black & white peppercorns, which you can taste quite distinctively. Thhis style of food is known as Maocai 冒菜(translates from local dialect: heat the food); , which derived from the hot spicy soup with all kinds of herbs pour over the ingredients creating steam (as in 冒烟as in “smoking”)just before serving to the patrons. You can choose from the menu or pick your own from the buffet bar and you will pay based on the weight of your selections. Once weighted, the kitchen will cook your concoction for you based on your selection of the sauce. All sauces were spicy and numbing. You can also choose lite spiciness, mid spiciness or extreme spiciness. This is the first time I’d tried this and I actually enjoyed the numbing and hot peppers flavor very much. I pride myself on eating spicy food, but I opted for lite spiciness here and it was plenty spicy for me. The prices were reasonable and the quantity was fulfilling for the items on the menu. You can also choose from glass noodle, rice noodle or instant noodle for your carb. I had the rice noodle and it was very well made. My wife selected the least spiciest sauce, the beef bone soup, with beef and it was just a bit spicy, but plenty of numbness.“
“The food and service have improved significantly since we dined in 2 years ago. Everything we ordered, from combination fried rice, sausage rice to joy pot, were excellent and big portions. Milk tea is consistently good and tastes like authentic tea not some fake powdery stuff. Staff were great and food came out quickly. We will visit there more often.“
“Good personal hotpot place. Good price to permanent ratio. Pretty fast. The soups were all nice and drinkable. Even the spiciest level was not that spicy. Lots of veggies and meats to choose from. All tasted pretty fresh. If I were in the area I would come again if I have a craving for hotpot.“
“I got a tomato based pot and really enjoyed how customizable the hotpot is. Despite the name, my friends and I all didn't feel like our hotpots were particularly spicy (the spice is diy via the sauce station). Fresh veggies, good variety, decent price for value. If you are on an allium free diet, their tomato broth does not have onion / garlic which is a plus!“
“Went there last night with friends on rainy day. It was really good, feel like back home eating hot pot. The service were fantastic, the servers were friendly and cute and nice, very helpful. The only thing was too COLD! Also we hope they can sing longer time. It was entertaining and the song was good. We have to drove an hour there. It's worth it. We definitely go again next time.“
“Came here for shabu shabu recently. The presentation is on point, I like the three-tier serving tray! It's as if you're having afternoon tea; just replace the pastries and scones with protein and seafood! Each table had built-in induction cooktops to keep the pot boiling. If you prefer outdoor dining and you brought your furry companion, there's additional seating in the dog-friendly patio. They don't force everyone to get their own personal hot pot, but if you want a broth refill there is an additional charge if you choose to share. Broths we tried - White is a short rib and oxtail base. Fairly basic and clean tasting by itself. Red is similar but with chili paste added. It had a little more depth to it and the spice level was tolerable. Their namesake dPot broth (kelp, pollack, anchovy, vegetables) is definitely plain, but not a dealbreaker once you add things to the pot since that adds to the flavor. Protein - American Style Wagyu Beef Galbi Eye was thin slices of very high fat, thoroughly marbled meat. Takes just a couple of seconds swishing it in the broth for it to cook, with the far rendering very quickly. For something that's more lean, choose the Prime Chuck Top Blade. Quality for both was great. The Seafood option (combination of scallops, shrimp, crab, mussels, calamari) was fresh. We were also given fish cake balls, dumplings, and cubes of tofu to boil. Vegetables - a very large serving of healthy things. Napa cabbage, kale, bok choy, corn, onions, kabocha, broccoli, and like three types of mushrooms from what I remember. Sauces - Ponzu was a bit sour. Goma was more pleasant. Udon (thick wheat flour noodles), Kalguksu (hand cut noodles) and Potato Sujebi (hand-pulled dough) were all tasty additions, it just comes down to personal preference. If you're not getting hot pot, they have braised short ribs, army stew, steamed buns, dumplings, and seiro-mushi (Japanese method of steaming meat and vegetables in a wooden box). Prices are just okay. A lot of the things that are complementary at shabu shabu places elsewhere are extra charges here, or nonexistent. And I'd rather go somewhere that has more variety and flexibility in choosing specific ingredients. But I liked it and I wouldn't be opposed to another visit.“
“The food was delicious and the service was great! They provided us extra service when asked for the fish cake with cheese (which I highly recommend getting). Overall I would recommend coming here for regular dinner or dinner with friends with a little“
“You don't want to miss this authentic Taiwanese spicy hot pot. Best in California. Hands down. For a truly unforgettable hot pot experience, look no further. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a world of culinary delight. Prepare to be wowed by the taste of food and the exceptional service, both of which deserve rave reviews.“
“Great food in a fun and new atmosphere. They have the standard- yummy Thai dishes. We tried their Pad Thai and it was delicious. What makes this place stand out is the colorful atmosphere. From bright green and orange chairs to the "street fair" decor- it's a fun place to visit.“
“I went there on a weekday, it's only my tablet, and I was like, is this place good? No customer??? But after I got the food, OMFGGGG! I'm glad I stopped by there after skiing. This is the real gem of si chuan hot pot right here!!!! The service was so good the stuff was so nice. Also, the soup and beef are 100% quality! Only one thing u need to be careful of is the portion of beef. They give you a lot, I can tell because some places will give you a slide of 4 pieces of beef. But here!!? Let's check on my pic! So careful when you order beef, you will not make the waste food.If you like hot pot. Here is the answer.I love this place ❤️“
“I like the soup base to be medium spicy, but it's really too salty. The bone soup base is okay. Everything else I ate today was okay, except that the shrimp I got was a bit not fresh. I told the waiter when I paid, but he didn't really respond to me. Yes, the bill was reduced later, and the bowls in the snack area were all used up when I came. I didn't see them replenished until I left. I will come again for the ice powder and red bean porridge.“
“This is always our yoga sisters favorite hang out place: we ordered big fried chicken steak, tofu with sausage, popcorn chicken, fried pork blood & tempura! As for hot pot, we had pumpkin, tomatoes, mushrooms flavors & spicy mala Taiwanese styles! The food are delicious, great atmosphere, excellent service & cute decoration! Strongly recommended good restaurant!“
“Beautiful ambience. Not AYCE so I had trouble trying to decipher the menu due to no pictures. I went with the half spicy (medium) and half bone broth. My favorites were the spicy broth, brisket cuts, hand pulled noodles, bamboo slices and daikon. The spicy broth is well seasoned and will numb your tongue. You will not need a sauce because the spicy broth is just that good. But beware on choosing your spice level. It's very spicy! Spent approx $180 which filled up 4 people.“
“I've been coming here for 30+ years. I used to come so often that they would know me just from my order since I always ordered the same thing. For a brief period I didn't come here because they had changed up their menu and didn't offer Satay Chicken lunch specials anymore. But looks like they recently changed owners and I'm happy to say that the Satay Chicken Lunch and Dinner specials are back. Even better, the satay chicken is even more delicious and juicier than before. Service is great and the new owners are very friendly and welcoming.“
“i used to come here all the time when i used to live in walnut/db and i'm glad that its still around cus it's just as good as i remember iti brought my bf here for his first time and he was so wowed by the concept of a paper pot shabu. he told all his friends and now they wanna come check it out xDwe ordered the house spicy and spicy pork broththe prime rib eye and kobe chuck - both meats were extremely tender and delicious, marbling was great and perfect uniform slicesi love that they give u the option to pick what kind of veggie plate you want, we both opted for the no carbs, more veg plates and it was the perfect amount for usservice was great, our server was fast and attentive. helpful n informative cus we didn't know how to order off their tablet LOLdef wanna try their kobe w cheese next time cus that looks fireeee“
“Open 5 to 10 dailyOutdoor seatings only We got the special and it was pretty good. Upgrade the soup base for $4. Worth it. I tried the tomato soup base and it has some salmon, a shrimp, and mussel added in. Very flavorful. The crab soup base was spicy and added additional 1/2 crab. Service good. Outdoor seatings ok on a cool night. Very decent Shabu for this price. We will come back!“
“Came here to try the liuzhou rice noodles so this review is limited to that, not their hotpot items. The noodle was tasty, especially with the chili oil, although some might not think it's the most authentic version. There are plenty of toppings and the bowl was quite filling.I like my noodle soup steaming hot and thought it could be improved a bit. They do have an induction stove on the table for hotpot and keeping your bowl warm. I just didn't want to wait while the noodle is soaking in the soup already. An an entry level 螺蛳粉 fan, it was still a very decent lunch.“
“This is my favorite shabu place in OC. It's a little out of the way for me, but I am willing to make the trip. The flavor of the broth is on point, the presentation of the proteins and veggies is nice, and the appetizers...the apps! Such a good selection where other shabu places fall short. On top of that, service is really attentive and you can tell they do their best.“
“Decided to visit to this spot-on Thanksgiving Day 2023! Honestly, not sure what to expect, as soon we walked in, we were happily greeted and seated right away! I noticed there were a ton of to go orders. Partner and I were craving our typical Chinese food orderSalt and Pepper Calamari – Crunchy, seasoned well, not too spicySzechwan Eggplant – hint of spice, stayed hot (temperature wise) the whole timeBeef Chow Fun w gravy – Tender beef, flavorful noodsDuck – typical, very good except, it came out room temp.BBQ Pork – Typical and just like the duck – room temp.If you are in or near the area and can’t get to Alhambra or Rosemead, let’s say you live in Whittier, City of Industry, Avocado Heights then this is your spot. =)Missing star – I was quite surprised at the price of 2 Bbq item combo $31? Check out how small the portion was.“
