“What a joy to have breakfast here!! There are so many brioches to taste! ? I loved the cheese brioche.
As for drinks, there is a huge choice, I chose the Vietnamese Savory Coffee ☕️. The taste is surprising.

They got cookies, bread, pastries, danishes, sandwiches, cooked food, cakes, drinks, everything!It’s like Sunmery and 85 degrees bakery in one but with way more options.We got a few of the sponge cake flavors, curry empanadas, Portuguese egg tarts. The bread seems to be the most popular.“

“Oooh weeee Uncle Tetsu can set you back some, Ordered 4 tarts and a cheesecake for about $30 ish. Honestly, the tarts are good but nothing out of the ordinary, just like regular cheesecake but smaller so I would just get the special Japanese style cheese cake.
The cake jiggles LOL and is super fluffy, I’ve never tried anything like this before. The taste is very mild with a small hint of sweetness. The cheesecake is so light and airy just like a sponge cake.
Customer service was ok, the ladies in front of me ordered the same thing, paid then realized they wanted to take advantage of a promotion of some sort, maybe a gift card but they weren’t able to use the same credit card? They only had one, so they walked out without getting what they wanted, I thought that was a bit odd. Customer wants to buy more things but your system doesn’t allow you to use the credit card more than once??“

“Missing one star because the lady in the afternoon is not patient or nice. She rushes you out. And seems upset that you don’t know The “names” of the pan dulce you want. Pan dulce is called different names so chill and help us out trying to guess. A dash of nice would help but the bread here is always delicious!“

“I'm a Porto's groupie. I have been to several locations over the years (Downey, Glendale, Buena Park, Northridge, and now West Covina). I appreciate Porto's consistency and quality of their food, drinks, and pastries, without compromisng customer service or cleanliness in their environments. Let's jump right into this review.

This location is in West Covina, backside of a mall. Nearby the 10 freeway for reference.

Everything is good in my opinion. I'm just saying. Somethings will be a palette preference but it's all good. Look good. Taste good. Smells good. Here are my favorites:

1. Meat pies - Puff pastry filled with Rosa's original picadillo (Cuban-style ground beef with onion, bell pepper, olive, and Spanish seasonings.

2. Empanada - A hand pie filled with Cuban-style chicken fricassee (slow-cooked chicken breast, carrot, raisins, peas, onion, tomato sauce, and Spanish seasonings). * other options available *

3. Potato balls - A classic and signature treat that consist of potato puree filled with Rosa's original picadillo (Cuban style ground beef with onion, bell pepper, olive, and Spanish seasonings) with a crispy panko crust. * other options available *

4. Fruit tart - A buttery tart topped with a layer of Rosa's original sponge cake, vanilla custard, and an assortment of fresh fruit including locally grown, California strawberries and blueberries, imported mangoes, and other seasonal fruit.

5. Smoothies - Guava and Mango are my top choices.

Given the quality of ingredients and portion size; I find prices reasonable.

Pros
1. Food is delicious

2. Presentation of items is superb. Glass displays are kept clean and given the volume of traffic - I don't know how it is done.

3. Reasonable prices.

4. Clean establishment from inside to the outside surroundings. Tables are clean quickly and put back into rotation given the foot traffic.

5. Has vegetarian/vegan options.

Cons
1. Busy. Busy. Busy. Always a line. Note: The lines are moving, but, sometimes you want to walk into a place and not have to get into a line wrapped around the building. True testament to the quality of food...people willing to wait.

2. Parking is a challenge.

I recommend Porto's to anyone. Go ahead, satisfy your taste buds.

“Patty's was very communicative and responded quickly to our emails about our wedding cake. They made a cake exactly to our specifications and it tasted divine! We got the banana cake with guava filling and cream cheese frosting, and we got so many compliments on the taste. I applaud Patty's and can't wait to eat more of the leftovers :)“

“Found this store on Eater LA and came on a Saturday. It was cheerful to get the limited special cake — chestnut tiramisu! The chestnut cream is so yummy! A bit pricey ($29 total for four desserts) but truly worth it. The genmaicha tofu cake is my favorite. It has a rich soy flavor and the texture is so soft! I also like the blueberry and lavender cake with jelly on top. Excellent combination! Staff were very careful about packaging so even I drove for roughly an hour with the cakes, they remained intact all the time!“

Their dac biet is the perfect sandwich and their daikon and carrots are light and bouncy with fresh jalapeno with the right amount of pate and butter. They have it down to perfection, nothing less. Had an open house and served it for homebuyers and they were blown away! Highly recommend! Cafe sua da is gold too, loved the shaved ice in the coffee and not too sweet. The ladies in the back are super sweet and you can buy the baguettes and freeze them, then 350 f for 6 mins in toaster or airfryer. Get the egg rolls, and pa te so is good too. My clients loved their vegetarian banh mi too!

Ish's signature pies, breads, expresso buns, cookies, cakes, are always in small batches, and has something new and in season everytime I stop by! “We needed a birthday cake on short notice, and thankfully, Patisserie Too had a 5” mango cake available. They also had a wide variety of personal size cakes in adorable animal themes (rabbit, dog, pig, penguin, and Hello Kitty). Our party really enjoyed the mango cake - it was the perfect sweetness level and full of flavor. Sweet enough to taste like a dessert but not overwhelmingly sugary. I was pleasantly surprised to find a slice of mango inside the cake. The mango texture was a fun contrast to its soft cake-y surroundings. The entire cake sat on top of a cookie base (shortbread cookie?), and the crunchiness of the cookie also enhanced the range of textures in this dessert!

The cakes were also well packaged. They taped down the personal size cakes we bought so that they wouldn’t slide around inside the box. This attention to detail and their friendly and helpful service overall made this a really pleasant shopping experience!“

“I needed a catering job for the entire LA County/USC ER Room medical staff and all support personnel. 150 complete box lunches and I needed them delivered to East Los Angeles by 11.30 am. This amazing staff got up at 3 am to make sure the order was there and on time. Rave reviews were emailed to me about the quality and care of the delicious care packages given to each of those important caregivers at the hospital. First rate care and preparation. Breakfast Experience

I visited in the morning for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Their Croissant Sandwich was a great choice—crispy on the outside and filled with ham, cheese, egg, and lettuce, making for a satisfying and protein-rich meal.

For my drink, I tried the Black Sesame Latte, but it was a bit disappointing. The sesame powder didn’t dissolve well into the hot milk, and no one informed me that it needed stirring, which affected the overall taste.

Environment & Amenities

There are plenty of seats, but a few downsides for those looking to work or study here:

No power sockets, which makes it inconvenient for long stays.

No WiFi, so it’s not the best place for remote work or studying.

Not dog-friendly—only service dogs are allowed, so pet owners should take note.

Final Thoughts

Sobok Sobok has potential, and with a few small improvements, it could be a fantastic go-to spot for both breakfast and dessert lovers.
