“I've passed this location several times in the past, but it was always closed and out of business. I recently saw a neon "Open" sign so I decided to stop by. Imagine my surprise to discover that it's a Duke's Bakery location! Nothing indicated that it was Duke's except for a little logo sign on the bottom corner of their window. The sign above their shop is a generic "Bakery" sign in yellow. The paper sign on the door says they are closed on Sundays.I went in around 10:00 am and was hoping for a bunch of fresh bread smells wafting at me, but there was none. It actually looked quite sad upon entry. There were mostly empty shelves surrounding the shop, there were a few breads in the center, with only about 2 - 3 loafs per flavor. Not sure what they would do if they get more customers like me who buy a bunch of breads at once...do they close once they run out of inventory? The prices are higher than other Asian bakeries, but the size of the breads are really generous and I really love how creative they get with their flavors. I did pick up a few items, and it was hit or miss with the freshness. While most were soft and yummy, a couple were stale. I don't think they bake in house, since I went early in the morning and none of their items were warm or had condensation, and I don't know how long they keep their breads out, or maybe they drive it over from another Duke's location?I tried to ask the lady working there when the shop opened but she didn't speak English so we just kept our communication to smiles. Overall, this is an awesome bakery for yummy breads - every one I've tried is really good! Just cross your fingers that you get fresh ones.“

I wasn't too big a fan of sweets, so I struck up conversation with the worker and ordered her favorite, the chicken pesto panini. I wasn't expecting too much, but there were a few tastes I noticed The chicken pesto panni was a fair size for a sandwich. I don't think it is a commonly ordered item, since the panini press had to be plugged in and heard the microwave going shortly after. I have to admit, I was pretty impressed with how good the pesto chicken tastes. The rotisserie chicken was moist and tasty, unlike the Costco ones that are overly salted. The pesto and ingredients inside were great too. My only disappointment was the bread, which didn't taste stale but didn't taste too fresh either. It was fairly dry and crumbly. Overall, great experience at Puffect. I was greeted once I entered, conversation to order was easy, and it was a quiet, chill afternoon.“

We got there at 10am and it was raining so we lucked out. They had several staff drying the floor and directing traffic to enserie everyone’s safety avoiding slips. They have an amazing system in place to get customers to the right counter. Everything we tried was fresh and super tasty. We tried the Potato Balls, Cheese Rolls, Refugiado, Chicken Empanada, Torrejas, breakfast croissants, Pork Tamales and a few other pastries along with lattes, guava lemonade & hot chocolate. We went all out! There was not one item that we bought that was bad or that we wouldn’t buy again. I was able to buy several items to bring back home. So we had a wonderful breakfast there and had several pastries and goodies to bring home.“

“This is not the place to come if you're on any sort of diet, or refraining from gluten dairy or whatever else or trying to prevent cavities. This is where you come for a dang good sinfully sweet cookie that will satisfy any sweet tooth craving. I found pricing to be on point. Five dollars for one cookie isn't worth it. But they have packages of 4 or 6 which are totally worth it- so come if you have many mouths to split with. Plus it's more fun to try a little of each flavor. I cannot finish a whole cookie by myself - I think they're about 1000 calories each, at least that's how they taste. So I see why they're five dollars. They have a very convenient app so you can see what the flavors of the week are and you can also collect rewards. Tip: it's easy to collect dozens of crumbs by just doing a few small tasks on the app in the beginning so I highly recommend doing this if you're a crumbl fan at all. Every week the flavors change which makes it fun and not boring. Any given week they're probably offering some sort of cookie you've never tried. It's small inside but clean and service is prompt and easy. Parking is plentiful because there's a parking lot right outside. Seriously, what's not to like about it?“

“Started going to La Central Bakery/Panaderia about a year ago when I heard their tamales were the best around. I must say that I agree. So, when I want to eat a tamale or order for family get togethers, I go to La Central Bakery on La Habra Blvd. in La Habra. Once I went there for the first time, I was amazed at all the other food in their small store. Recently I tried the beef and potato empanada and now I'm hooked. The ladies who work in the little store are so nice and they work very hard. They take the time to make their customers feel valued. The food is all prepared fresh daily and the quality is excellent. I wish they had a restaurant but the food is all to-go. If you want the taste of homemade Mexican cuisine and a reasonable price, La Central Bakery is the place! I recommend going there early because the place is very popular and they sell out fast. Also, pre-order for large orders especially during the holidays :-)“

When walking in you have to wait for the worker to come with the tray and tell them what you want so they can grab it for you instead of the typical self serve. They can help you if you tell them what kind of bread you want or if you don't know what kind of filling is in any of them. I got a custard cone, Orejas and a cortadillo which came out to be about $3.75They were all very fresh and tasted great!!! They close at 3pm!!“
