“The cafe was a real hidden gem—it's actually inside the fish restaurant, which made it super hard to find since there was no separate sign for the cafe.

However, the staff, Lenis was so incredibly nice and sweet. She made my dulce de leche latte, but it was much too sweet for my taste, so she immediately adjusted it for me. Not only did she fix it, but she even gave me extra shots and milk just in case, which was so thoughtful. She also handed me a little cut-up dessert as a treat—she's truly amazing!“

“Stopped by this establishment because my normal breakfast spot was full to the gillz one particular morning. This establishment was pretty darn close to being full and seated us promptly. I was pleasantly surprised by the food which was spot on. I opted for the chicken and waffle which was hearty and sumptuous. While I still consider my go to breakfast spot to be Georgia's bun n burger up the road, I believe I'll keep this diner as a formidable reserve in my back pocket.“

As for drinks, there is a huge choice, I chose the Vietnamese Savory Coffee ☕️. The taste is surprising.

So when he gets there, he is getting Conchas and quernos, and he asks her if there is any more bolillo and guess what she said: "Yes, I have a couple left. These are the last ones and they are the small ones. My son brings them home, and they are the big ones. I am glad she gave them to my son. My son is a handsome boy and courteous, so I think she liked him. And gave him those last pieces. That was a blessing. Their bolillo is so good. Mmm. Warm out of their oven with a little butter, and they got me. Fresh Mexican bread on the daily. Very nice bakers and clerks. Fresh coffee in the morning. On your way to work, stop by for some Mexican sweet bread and hot coffee.“

“Stopped by Sobok Sobok for an afternoon snack and can see why it’s been around for so many years.

The coffee buns were fresh and soft with a light coffee aroma. I tried the assorted box and enjoyed how each flavor had its own character without being overly sweet. The cinnamon and yogurt white chocolate were my favorites.

The croffle was crispy on the outside, buttery inside, and paired really well with the pineapple ice cream.

I also ordered the Hibiscus Peach Tea. The peach tasted homemade rather than syrupy, and the tart hibiscus balanced the sweetness nicely. Refreshing and not too sugary.

The shop has a warm neighborhood feel, and the smell of freshly baked bread hits you as soon as you walk in. Definitely a great spot for a coffee break or to pick up pastries to take home.“

“This is my go-to spot for a fresh bowl — Los Compadres Pan is one of the best bakeries around Pico Rivera! Their bread is always excellent, and the sweet bread is amazing too. Their manjar (filling) is hands down the best in the area. The prices are so good you could count the amount you spend on two hands. Definitely worth checking out if you love quality and flavor!

The food came very quickly and the wait staff was very attentive, checking to see if we needed anything several times. I had the chicken katsu and waffles and my companion had strawberry crepes and a side of kalua pork. All were delicious. It was very busy but they didn't rush us out.
