Service is always good, the place is a little small, but always busy. They have the best muscles, best albacore capaccio and rolls. Nice vibe in there. Took 3 minutes to be seated then we were greeted by the most friendly and attentive waiter I’ve EVER had at any restaurant . I’m a huge lover of the cabbage salad so I gorged on a big bowl before dinner. I ordered a medium rare fillet and potato and it was cooked to perfection. I so wish I lived nearby as I would pay it a regular visit. I’m so glad the Clearmans Northwoods inn has not been changed.”

The patty melt had good flavor, but it came with very few grilled onions, and even though I requested mushrooms, they were completely left off.

Overall, the food was okay and had decent flavor, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The great service was definitely the highlight of my visit.”

“Went on a Thursday for date night with the wife. Live music was great. The restaurant was slow but we had a reservation. The service was very slow although they were not busy. Food was tasty but pricey for what you get. We had the Caesar salad to start, Mongolian beef (good but not a large portion of beef with lots of rice for $32), shrimp tacos were on the smallest street taco tortillas I have seen. Drinks and desert were good. Cool vibe and atmosphere.”

“I stopped by on Saturday with my wife for some lunch. I heard of the fundraiser this restaurant is having with the knights of Columbus. The restaurant will donate 20% of your bill to the knights. I thought that was tremendous and admirable. We shared several dishes like vegetables chow mein, orange peel beef and some beef that I don't remember the actual name. Everything tasted fresh and service was quick even tho it looked like a good lunch rush was the going on at the time. We had some ice cold flavored tea which we both enjoyed very much. We decided to share this place with our daughter so we pick up one of the lunch specials to go. Price was reasonable, the good was delicious, service was quick and friendly. Every experience at a restaurant should go like this experience we had. Will definitely return to try some more dishes on the menu.”

“A bit pricey BUT delicious meal. I had the Chicken Mole- which was made with shredded chicken-however my MIL returned the following week and she said that it was NOT the same and NOT nearly as good. So maybe ask before placing your order🤷🏼. The Mango Margarita was Very Large and equally delicious BUT it was almost $20! Each !
So all in all it was a very nice meal for two and it was $98 for 2 dinners and 2 margaritas. No sides or appetizers. Minus the tip.”

I travel down to Baja dozens of times per year and I’ve never had a fresh fish taco like the one I’ve had here. The way it’s prepared the tortilla the crunch when you bite into the freshly fried Fish is very hard to find. I had To go back and the ceviche tostada was even more impressive and I love seafood. This was really good. I had to come back one more time and I had a shrimp burrito, which was very good as Well. Fairly to really well priced for the amazing food they put out. Small inside, but highly recommend if possible to eat your food inside as Fresh as possible”

“I went today to Covina Burgers which I have not been in a very long time. With all the good things I was hearing my son and I went for lunch. First off my son is picky he ordered a breakfast burrito and didn’t finish it because it was too big. But his take was this is better than Farmer Boys. Because the amount of egg to meat and potatoes is even. He went on to say the fries were tasty with the right amount of salt. I ordered the chefs salad and it is big enough for two meals. I also ordered the zucchini because those are a favorite and was not disappointed. They were light crispy and delicious. We will definitely be back!”

“Alpha Omega is located right at the beginning of downtown Covina. They have excellent burgers, tuna melt sandwiches, and the best gyros sandwiches around. We always get the gyros sandwich and fries and a chili cheeseburger.

“We stopped by Spirit of Texas Craft Barbecue, located near Arrow Highway and Bonnie Cove, for an early Sunday lunch. We arrived around 11:30 a.m. and decided to make a meal of it.

Today, we tried two of their combo platters, featuring tri-tip and pulled pork. Both came with a side, and we each chose the potato salad. We also grabbed a couple of drinks to round out the meal.

The tri-tip and pulled pork were both delicious, and the potato salad was a great complement to the barbecue.

Everything tasted fresh and homemade, which is exactly what you hope for when visiting a family-owned barbecue restaurant.

One thing I really appreciate about Spirit of Texas is its authenticity. This is a small, family-owned establishment that has been serving the community for years. I was actually here 30 years ago, and remarkably, the place hasn't changed much. They still make their food themselves rather than relying on someone else's kitchen. You can taste the care that goes into what they serve.

I also love their sign explaining that they're open until a certain time or until they run out of food. That tells you everything you need to know. When the food is gone, they're done for the day. It's a good reason to get there early!

There's plenty of parking, including designated ADA parking spaces. There are also signs throughout the lot reminding visitors that parking is for customers only, apparently due to past issues.

If you're looking for authentic, freshly made barbecue from a small family-owned business, I highly recommend making the trip to Spirit of Texas Craft Barbecue.

However, the staff, Lenis was so incredibly nice and sweet. She made my dulce de leche latte, but it was much too sweet for my taste, so she immediately adjusted it for me. Not only did she fix it, but she even gave me extra shots and milk just in case, which was so thoughtful. She also handed me a little cut-up dessert as a treat—she's truly amazing!”
