“Can't really speak to the service or ambience as I have never actually dined in. But I've ordered numerous times and the food never disappoints. Also I'm pretty sure I found the best wings in Covina”
“Arrived at 3:45 on a Saturday during the Christmas Holidays. We were seated right away. This place is awesome. Northwoods Inn's original location opened in 1958 in North Monrovia then relocated to it's current location in Covina due to the construction of the 210 freeway.Christmas atmosphere completes your dining experience.Yes, grab a bowl and serve yourself roasted peanuts. Then enjoy the endless purple cabbage , green salad and cheesy bread.Next your main entree. Something on the menu for everyone. Steaks, Seafood, Chicken....etcOn your way out do not forget to grab a handful of root beer barrel candy or their mints.Kid-friendliness: Fun for kidsWheelchair accessibility: Yes!”
“Great place, reminds me of Japan. Very clean and very friendly staff. The Nigiri Sushi was great and very filling. The Miso was great and the actual tofu chunks were a great sight to see. Definitely a must try and if local I'd be a regular.Arigato Gosaimasu!”
“Finally made it to this new local favorite and my only regret is not having been here sooner. We didn't have dinner reservations but made it there early enough (before 6) where they have plenty of tables on a Friday night. I was in the mood for a cocktail that wasn't sweet, and the server recommended just the right one. I don't remember the exact name of it but it has cucumber and a hint of agave. I think tequila is the primary ingredient but it's not a margarita. It was refreshing and offered just the right hint of sweetness. My husband who is a big fan of Old Fashioned drinks had one and boy, was it good! No, it wasn't good, it was delicious! I don't like Old Fashioneds but this one was absolutely incredible. We will return just for the drinks. The food itself was delicious, even though it has minimal offerings for vegetarians. The Impossible Burger is the only choice, but it was cooked well and the fries were good. Our other party member had a traditional burger and raved about it as well.We found out they have live entertainment every night, starting at around 9 p.m., so we will return for that.Overall, this is a fabulous place with an impressive bar, good food offerings, excellent service and an overall good vibe. Looking forward to returning.Vegetarian options: The Impossible Burger.”
“Went to Giovanni's to celebrate my wife's birthday. Decided to keep it local and came here for the 1st time. We really enjoyed the food and service here, the lobster ravioli was delicious, the clam linguine was good too! Our server was great and the atmosphere was relaxed and quiet. If your in downtown Covina this place is a gem. Definitely recommend Giovanni's for a nice dinner. Btw the cocktails were ??”
“This place is very good to bring your own kids to have fun and also they have Birthdays parties.Parking: Sometimes is hard to find parking because is lot of people that bring their own kids, because they have different kinds of games. But is very good place for families.”
“This place is amazing. The server was on top of it, engaged in conversation, and didn't make us feel rushed. I will definitely be coming back as there is just so much more to try and it all looks so good!”
“We went here for the lunch special. We ordered 4 special rolls and got 2 rolls 50% off. We really enjoyed it, it was good and you get a lot of food. Just don't expect good service. It was difficult to flag someone down.”
“We've been wanting to check this place out for a while now, so we were excited to finally be able to visit for the first time last night. There were several beer options, but when we asked the lady at the bar which she recommended she seemed pretty annoyed. Her attitude pretty much killed the vibe for us. However, there was a man there (maybe the owner?) who was very nice and walking around making sure all the customers were happy and well served. We might come back because the beer was pretty delicious and the pizza place next door is bomb. Hopefully the lady isn't working there if we do.”
“The food was great not a lot but good the bread pudding was awesome. Juan our server was wonderful. I took my friend there for her Birthday lunch first time for both of us after spending $80.00 I noticed a charge on my bill for extra barbecue sauce. First of all the sauce comes in a small small amount and to charge for extra is just wrong, that was our only complaint.”
“A very sophisticated restaurant. All at the highest level. The waiters know the menu very well and the composition of the products in each dish. For us it was important because there are some allergies. The service was fast, everything was very tasty, I recommend to visit”
“Learning about Vita Foods Health Store and meeting Roger was one of the best things that could have happened to me. I came to him when I had vertigo and he said I was suffering from anxiety. He suggested I take the At Peace pills (all plant based) and it worked wonderfully. Since then I go to him with every ailment from arthritis in the knee to diabetes. I have built up my immune system by taking his immune booster, vitamin C, Vitamin D and zinc and overall stay healthy. Roger is a God send.”
“Steaks are cooked to perfection. Blue cheese wedge salad is good. Blooming onion can't go wrong. Waitress was very attentive. Be sure to ask for AARP discount.”
“Ordered soft shell crab and it was good. Wasn't hot nor warm by the time I made it 12 minutes away home. Also ordered baked salmon roll, it was good flavor was mild compared to what I'm use too. I did like that it was not super oily like some I've had. I would come back”
“I went for lunch on a Thursday afternoon, and I loved the grilled fish dish! My mom is super picky about Chiles Rellenos, and she loved theirs! My aunt ordered a chile verde wet burrito with carnitas, and she loved hers! We'll be back for sure!”
“We ordered frog with chili and frog with pickled chili. Both are fresh and great! We wrote in the notes to ask if these dishes could be made as less spicy as possible. They made it, without loss of flavor. The cauliflower dry pot is also tasty. So this is certainly not a restaurant providing pre-made food. I haven’t try too many Szechuan restaurants in LA, but if this was in great Seattle area, this restaurant would be the top.”
“Had not been here in years, so much fun, it was a weekday, still had an ok amount of people, much more relaxed than a game day or weekend. Friendly attentive staff, very clear restrooms, tons of parking in the back, and in the front if it’s not a weekend. Will return and recommend.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly it’s a bar”
“City Grill is the ideal spot for sports fans. Watching the Buffalo Bills game there was an experience in itself, amplified by the exceptionally friendly and attentive service from the bartender. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a game. The warmth and professionalism of the staff, particularly the bartender, added a personal touch to the experience, making City Grill a memorable destination for any sports event.”
“The service was excellent! The girl at the counter was very patient since it was my first time eating there. Great place if you like exploring different spices and flavors!”
“Pretty good pizza place with many different types of pizza. Not the usual pepperoni or different toppings, but special things like Al pastor or Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken Pizza. We called in to ask one of the workers to see if the pizza had certain allergens, and glad they were able to let us know that there wasn’t egg in the two pizzas we ordered, but didn’t know that the Al Pastor would be spicy. I think adding certain symbols on the menu, or asking the customer would definitely help, to make sure, not everyone has the same tolerance. We ordered the Taiwanese , Al Pastor Pizza, the elote tots and the BBQ Chicken Wings. The BBQ sauce was really tasty, but the chicken felt overcooked. It was quite nice to taste different types of specialty pizzas and overall we didn’t enjoy the food. The place is not that big, but it isn’t made for you to dine in. It is quite nice to have some arcade games as you wait, and we learned that this business does also have another location.”
