“HI, I have to be honest. I was trying to find a way to contact Flappy Jacks as I have a proposition I think would be perfect for Flappy Jacks I have what is probably a bit of an unusual idea. Or maybe just a good idea. I know it is an unusual way to contact you but there was no email address. So I hope this works. I am from Columbia Missouri and I am visiting my Son, Grand Kids, and family there, just a few blocks to the East of Tustin. I am a musician, part time, and I like to street busk (play music on the streets) for grins. I noticed your nostalgic decor and your Elvis statues and the mural featuring the St Louis Arch, which is in Missouri on the Mississippi, of course, where I am from, and the 1930s, 40s and 50s nostalgia, and I wondered if you ever considered, or entertained the notion of having a little nostalgic live music, every now and then, perhaps even if only just once as an experiment. I just happen to play that old classic blues from that era, mostly, at least in this capacity, as Mr. Fletcher's One Man Blues Band. And I thought we might make a pretty good match up. As I said, at least, as an experiment. You can check me out at Facebook "Keith Fletcher, musician." Though most of that music is from my original music shows, and not my one man blues sets. I noticed you had a nice patio area where I could play outside and it might be a nice treat for your customers to have a bit of entertainment, just for a change of pace. They might really appreciate it since they obviously like your atmosphere. I don't play loud music. Unless folks want that, but I prefer to play soft. Or at least in situations like this. I've been the house band for BBQ joints and restaurants on several occasions. So I am familiar with the proper decorum. Mostly I was just looking for a little music adventure in CA within a walking distance of my Son's house, where I could carry a very tiny amp about the size of a cracker box, and my guitar to a gig. I thought maybe about just doing a street gig but saw your venue and something seemed to click. I hope you think so too. I estimate you are about a mile walking distance from his house and I only need an electrical plug. And probably some cool beverages. Like I said, I'm mostly in it for a small musical adventure, and so will play for tips, though, maybe you can pay me with free cold beverages, especially if it is hot, and maybe a sandwich or meal depending on how long I am there. It all looks delicious to me. If you find you'd like to host me again, and want me back, that might be possible over the week, and I may be back for the Christmas holiday. I might even be able to talk my Son into bringing the kids and family. Could be a total bust, or could be a very nice thing, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Who knows? If it worked out well enough for both of us, you might even want to do it again sometime, Maybe even offer some kind of fee next time, if there is a next time. Life is an adventure. You / we, might stumble onto something good. If you would like to give it a whirl, what day and time would you think is good to catch a crowd? The pulled pork and pork ribs were delicious too, all cooked to perfection. I'd definitely go back for the meats alone. The sides were good but nothing special. The location was convenient, and service was excellent with a smile—the owner, a friendly man who's won barbecue tournaments, even came by to greet guests, and the bus boy checked on us several times. Southwest Quinoa Bowl: bursting with flavor served warm with juicy chunks of chicken.

Thai Bowl: packed with flavor reminiscent of Indonesian gado-gado. If you like peanut dressing you’ll love this! The warm quinoa goes really well with all the ingredients such as warm tofu, bean sprouts and mushrooms.

Killer Chili is so addicting you just can’t stop eating it.

“Went for dinner on a Wednesday night and the place was full. The restaurant was bright and not too loud. We had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table as a group of 3. Staff was courteous and very helpful. I had the coconut shrimp which was crunchy and delicious, followed by the chicken fried rice. I have to say this was one of the most flavorful fried rice I have had. I also tried the scallion pancake which was flaky and crunchy. My friends ordered the chive pork pan fried dumpling, which I tried and was not impressed. It was lacking in flavor in my opinion. I will definitely be back for the fried rice. Key tip...the front parking lot is small, so check the one behind the restaurant.“

“My 1st time at Wazabi, despite living in Orange for 25 years. Holy cow, was the food delicious and service friendly and prompt. We were a party of 5 and waited less than 10 minutes. I didn't catch our server's name, but she was wonderful. My son & I ordered the chicken katsu combos & the chicken was so crispy, moist and tasty. As a group, we also ordered specialty rolls and salads. We will most definitely return.“

Last Thursday, our ULI CFL Foodies gathered for a truly memorable evening at Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen in Orange -- with an exclusive private dining experience for 10 in The Cellar (Ki Hanal + Lounge). Such great 5 star service by our server, Jess!!! Thank you Mr. Don Domingue (Restaurant Manager).

- The Yucatan inspired dishes were life alteringly good
- The salsa was seriously addictive (carmelized onions in the salsa??? who knew it would be so mind blowing!)
- OMG the skirt steak was cooked to perfection sitting on a corn medley served with hot fresh house made flour/corn tortillas
- Their cocktails were vibrant, fresh and packed a punch!

A converted wine cellar featuring an intimate bar and lounge and a dramatic private dining table reminiscent of King Arthur's Court, the space was unlike anything we had experienced before. The furnishings were rich with history, character and unique design. For a few hours, we literally felt transported.

But as special as the setting was, the people made the evening.

We celebrated a birthday , career milestones , and had the opportunity to get to know members of ULI CFL Cohort 2 on a more personal level.

A special CHEERS to Judson B, whose thoughtfulness and efforts truly made this evening special. Thank you, Judson, for taking us on such a wonderful Mexican culinary adventure!

Great company + great conversation + great food & beverages = the trifecta of a great night out exploring what Orange County has to offer!
