“Really wonderful place, sushi and everything was very good. Calamari was a nice light fry. TNT roll was very nice. Character buns were fun and tasty, although in hindsight the Nutella bunny wasn’t as tasty as the other options. Overall great place would go again. One thing to note about this very cool location is you can hear the sea lions, and if the wind blows the wrong direction you may smell the sea lions briefly, so if you are sensitive to that eating inside may be preferred. Their outdoor seating in lovely though and they have heaters so it was still a very nice place to sit“

“Fast casual Japanese eatery specializing in ramen and small rice bowls. Go-to place for the family to pick up takeout or eat in the common food court area within the Mitsuwa grocery store.
A family favorite is the char siu rice bowl (side dish #45). It is simple comfort food with warm and plump short grain rice, topped with tender pork and freshly sliced green onions. The shichimi (seven flavor chili powder) offered at the counter is a nice complement.
The Hiyashi ramen is a cold noodle summer special. Two slices of tender pork, green onions, red pickled ginger, thinly sliced cucumber, and other goodies. Santouka offers three types of sauce - tried the spicey sauce, but felt the mala overpowered the dish a bit. Would recommend the shoyu or sesame sauces and then adding shichimi for more heat.“

“Food was amazing. The Hakata Tonkotsu DX was delicious, definitely best ramen I’ve ever ate. Service was extremely polite and they allow dogs! The atmosphere is excellent, it’s not too loud, if you don’t like loud restaurants. Pretty fancy too. Definitely coming back sometime! They also have a large drink selection and a good amount of side options. They also have rice with toppings such as fried chicken! Marufuku Ramen is awesome!“

“Parking Guidelines:
Go into the parking lot inside the plaza. Drive all the way to the end toward the UCSD Health direction. Take the elevator up, and Nagi will be right there.
We’ve tried all the ramen types here. My husband’s favorite is the Red King, and mine is the Veggie King. The Green King is a bit too oily for me. I don’t really remember the other types. The Veggie King is so good — I usually finish all the soup! But the two fried potato cakes are a bit too much for me.“
“First time at Elvira after many dinners at Cesarina. The food is the same level of authenticity and quality. But at Elvira, you can find parking and actually reserve a table (I am not criticizing Cesarina for being popular, just noting how difficult reserving a table can be). Last time I ate at Cesarina was with my wife who was wheelchair bound and two friends. The person who served us that night - Denis, I think - was also our wine server last night and remembered me. I am not famous and not worth looking at. So, I really appreciate that level of interest. I had the Amatriciana sauce last night. It's wonderful - worth a detour. It's simple on the surface, but getting the flavors balanced with the right amount of spiciness and fruitiness takes real skill in the kitchen. They have it. As our waiter last night suggested, it's like a big hug - just makes you feel loved and wanted. We also had the beet salad and the mixed salad both of which are well prepared, balanced and each sufficient for two people (we were three). We appreciate the low corkage fee that brings on a good decanter and appropriate glassware. We may never go back to Cesarina - not because it isn't worthy and surely not to miss the care Iris brings to her customers - but because Elvira is so darn good and easier to access. Also the service in Elvira is truly wonderful - not pushy, not fancy - knowledgeable, great sense of humor and attention at the right moments. And the free dessert is in insufficient bribe to get me to say such nice things about him and the restaurant.“

“The ramen is delicious, but if you're thinking of adding on broccolini skip it. They charge $1 for literally the smallest piece I've ever seen and when I called to voice my concern about feeling ripped off, they didn't care. I feel like if you're paying $20 for a bowl of ramen you should get what you pay for“

“Wonderful food! Staff was super sweet and accommodating. My friend and I got the cream cheese wontons as an appetizer. I had the chicken ramen and she had the tajima black ramen (garlic). Everything was deilicous!
Parking is a bit rough with the small lot but its definitely worth it if you can go! :)“

“Amazing ramen in San Diego! I got their tonkotsu with chasu and it was incredible. My mom tried the tantan which was great too, it had more of a nutty flavor but I would get that one next time. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area!“

“Ordered the Combo, with the classic tonkatsu ramen and a pork bun. Cost about $20. The pork bun was very good; soft, steamed, springy bun with tender pork. The ramen was amazing. Arguably one of the best bowls of tonkatsu ramen I've had in San Diego. Noodles were cooked perfectly, the broth was rich and creamy, and the pork chashu was tender and full of flavor. This spot will be my new go-to ramen place for the La Jolla area!“

“Raki Raki's Chicken Ramen was excellent—rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The portion was so generous that I couldn't finish it and had to take the rest home.
The ambiance was lively with a predominantly younger crowd, and the complimentary sake was a nice touch. Overall, a great dining experience with good food and a welcoming atmosphere.“

“To be honest this is my first ramen experience so I dont have anything to compare it to. With that said, I loved it! I ordered Spicy Miso Tonkotsu with short rib. Not too spicy but made my nose run a bit. Excellent flavor and a large portion. Paid 19.99 +5 for the ribs. Honestly I don’t think it was rib meat. Loved the atmosphere and service was friendly and quick.“

“Been a minute since we have eaten at Silverlake Ramen. Ordered the Ramen Combo - Tonkotsu Ramen with grilled chicken and a side of gyoza (4 pieces). We also ordered a side of edamame. Washed it down with a cold glass of Sapporo. The Ramen was perfect in its miso soup. The Thousands Island-Aioli sauce (that’s what it tasted like) had a nice lil kick for the gyoza. Edamame was a good starter as usual. Service was okay. Domo arigato gozare masu.“

“Definitely expect a wait unless you arrive exactly at open. This restaurant is the turn & burn type. They are very fast at getting tables seated. We waited around 40 minutes for a table and it was SO worth it. The gyoza was so crispy and delicious and the sushi was very fresh.
We can't wait to come back here. One of my favorite hidden gems in SD!!“

“I love the options of non-pork broth they have. We had beef ramen and some chicken skewers all were good. For ramen, you have to put their special sauce on the table, it really was elevating the flavor, and don’t forget to order spicy sauce on the side. Their chicken skewers were juicy yet crispy, delicious!! All they need at this point is more seatings especially for big group ☺️“

“Covid-19 take out can be a hit or miss with food tasting like it's container. This place did not disappoint. I ordered the Vegan Ramen for a late lunch. Inside the restaurant is following proper protocol and is very clean. I have always ordered Vegan Ramen anywhere I visit outside of California, and have ordered all over San Diego. This by far is the BEST Vegan Ramen out there. The coconut milk, chili and miso broth is well balanced and buttery, the noodles and added ingredients are well proportioned, the tofu is not at all mushy or greasy..The noodles are fresh and delicious. for a couple dollars more you can add more noodles.. Definitely a stop for some comfort food!“

“The soft shell crab appetizer was ok but the seafood ramen was good. Probably wouldn’t order the soft shell crab again because the batter was not the tempura batter I was expecting. The ramen on the other hand was good and something I would order again.“

“FABULOUS LUNCH ! Hey I have never been inside a Japanese restaurant in my life. On the other hand my wife has traveled to Japan many times for her work and loves Japanese food...her fav is Chicken Yakitori. NOTE ! I saw a video a few days ago of Chicken Katsu Curry posted by my mate Jack...one of my best friends on Yelp. It looked so delicious that I had to have it. TODAY ! My wife and I were down in La Jolla taking care of business. I had previously looked up URBN Sushi and knew they served Chicken Katsu Curry and Chicken Yakitori. After a slow 10 minute drive due to roadworks...we arrived here at around 2pm. A friendly server named Henry greeted us with a big smile when we entered. Glasses of iced water came out quick followed by COMPLIMENTARY bowls of Miso soup and Edamame Beans. My wife ordered a Chicken Yakitori Starter and I had to have the Chicken Katsu Curry of course. A few more customers trickled in while we waited for our lunch order to arrive. WHOO HOO ! My wife's Chicken Yakitori Starter...2 skewers arrived first followed soon after by my beautiful looking Chicken Katsu Curry. TOTALLY DELICIOUS ! There is a first time for everything and now I know I love this dish. MORE ! My wife loved her Chicken Yakitori skewers but needed more food so a Vegetable Tempura Starter came out within a few minutes. And I pinched a few pieces...so delicious. THE MENU IS HUGE ! We were more than happy with our first lunch visit but there is so much more to try on the menu. TOP SERVICE ! Our server Henry was great the whole time answering all my questions about items on the menu. WE LOVED IT !“

“Amazing sushi and noodles at Ayu Sushi & Noodles in Pacific Highlands Ranch in Carmel Valley. We loved everything, the tempura udon, the yume, sachi, and anata rolls, the bluefin crudo, and the salmon hand rolls. Great selection of species on the menu, next time will need to get more nigiri and sashimi. Great service, friendly and quick. We sat on the dog friendly patio. Recommend!“

“Really a great place to go to if you want a good bowl of ramen or a karaage, especially with it being in the centre of campus and all that. I've been here a few times and got a good variety of some of their foods, so I'd like to point out some of the things i liked. everything is well-portioned, and their ramen has very good meat quality and plenty of small filler ingredients for a more interesting flavour assortment. The rice bowls, such as the karaage I mentioned, has very juicy fried chicken, almost as if it was prepared in soup broth instead of fried regularly.
Service is great, these guys are fast and efficient even when they're bogged down with tonnes of other requests, though at peak lunch and dinner times you can expect the wait to rise to 15 or 20 minutes.
The atmosphere is good as well, or at least I personally like it. Indoors has a great loud-kitchen-and-music type of idea, whilst outside is more relaxed and usually has more space for groups.“
