“Very good burger, excellent service. We showed up with a big group of adults and toddlers, and the owner was very helpful in seating us and bringing baby seats and booster seats. In addition to being very tasty, the burgers were also very well constructed. Not a single ingredient dropped out of burger while eating.”
“Great tacos with innovative flavors! We waited for 30min for a table on a Thursday night, so make your reservation ahead of time!Guacamole was great, very fresh. I tried the ribs taco and it was juicy and flavorful. Dessert was so good!”
“Wonderful genuine French Bistro. So many dishes we wanted to try! Everything was very well prepared and delicious. The room is nicely decorated, not too loud. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We had the opportunity to talk to the Chef and she walked us through all the desserts on their menu. We felt their price was reasonable for the quality of the food. We highly recommend it and we would love to go back.”
“Had my birthday dinner there. We also went at thanksgiving 2023. It is a wonderful restaurant with great food, service, wine list, sommelier. The staff is very friendly. Awesome views. Below are views from our outdoor table at thanksgiving.”

“We just stopped by out of the blue and this place is FABULOUS...the Food so DELICIOUS..I had the lamb dish and my charming wife had the tuna melt..with tomatoes and bread..with side of shrimp for me. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC FOOD...”
“Spencer was our server on Sunday and our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment my family and I arrived, until we left, we felt welcomed and pampered by the food and exceptional service. Spencer went above and beyond for us. He knew the menu like the back of his hand, offered great recommendations and pairing suggestions for us, too. And the view wasn’t too bad, too! It was actually stunning! Overlooking the ocean and the shores. Highly recommend dining at this spot.”

“We were immediately seated per our time reserved. Had the Italian mule and aperol cocktails- very good and different tasting. Lemon heavy, in a good way. Started with kale salad and daviola pizza. Both were seasoned well. Second course of tagliatelle creamy tomato pasta with hint of basil. Whole Branzino for our main course with capers and olives. Probably the second best preparation of BranIno I've ever had. Finished off our meals with dessert trio- citrus panecota, semifredo (a Nutella cold cake) and flourless chocolate cake with crème fraise. This meal was shared amongst 4 people and was just right. We left content but not stuffed. A bit pricey but well worth it. Highly recommend.”
Restaurants with Delivery
“Great owner, great food quality & tastes, but fix-its include: 1) sushi nigiri rice did not stick together so almost all our pieces made sadly fall apart with chopsticks or even gentle finger grip, 2) out of yummy lobster soup by 8:30pm, 3) sunomono needs simple rice wine vinegar sauce not overly hot & distracting spicy sauce, 4) needs to have simple Plum Wine by the glass or bottle (even cheap Takara from Berkeley good), 5) despite OT resy last resy times @ 8:45pm, the lady servers all HOUND you upon seating that now “last call for food as the kitchen soon closes”...how horrible, RUDE & UNGRACIOUS. The lovely & present owner Mitsu, a proud descendant of famed Mr. Ota) hopefully wants to make $$$ & welcome & keep his customers ? Special place, nonetheless.”
“Order at counter, food is delivered. Very fresh, not overly seasoned, chicken just a little salty. Mostly outdoor seating. Sandwiches, salads, protein of choice, soups. All well prepared.”

“I recently visited Rosemonts Cafe and it was an absolute delight! This cute shop offers a cozy environment where you can work, lounge, or simply sit back and enjoy your day. The atmosphere is inviting and the perfect place to relax.Abby, the owner of the shop, was incredibly gracious and welcoming to me and my friends. Her warm hospitality made our visit even more enjoyable. The service was top-notch and the staff was friendly and attentive.I highly recommend Rosemonts Cafe to everyone.”

“This place is a hidden gem! The friendliest of staff and the most delicious coffee. Try the Mayan mocha….you will not regret it. I will continue to come to this delightful little shop every morning I spend in La Jolla. Great job, owners!”
“Honestly my favorite place to eat at UCSD. The food is fresh and consistently great. The falafel is made in-house and fresh. The owner and staff are super friendly too. If I could eat here every day I would lol.Dietary restrictions: All the food/meat is Halal.”
“I recently dined at Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill & Oysters for brunch, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. I highly recommend trying their smash burger, which was incredibly flavorful and satisfying, perfect for a brunch indulgence. The crispy Brussels sprouts were also a highlight, offering a crunchy and savory complement to the meal. What impressed me the most was the efficiency of the service—I was seated quickly, and the food arrived promptly, allowing me to enjoy every bite without waiting long. The servers were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill & Oysters is definitely a place I'll be returning to for another fantastic dining experience.”
“Cliche I know but this place is truly a hidden gem. Must get the creme filled croissants - any fruit flavor is all real fruit. No shortcuts - and you can tell based on the flavor. I never really was a fan of creme filled pastries until I tried the ones here. Usually the bread in creme filled pastries gets soggy - but not these - they retain the crispness of the croissant with many layers. Any pistachio flavored pastry uses Sicilian pistachios. Ive tried almost every flavor and its hard to pick a favorite. You cant go wrong. Its not cheap but it's worth the price.”

“I loved the Mexican Mocha! All our food was great, the service was friendly, and Martin was very helpful with local suggestions.Vegetarian options: The soy chorizo and sweet potato tacos were great!”
“Last night was our first meal at Bernini's. We were delighted by the service, food and value. It has a strong family-oned vibe and it seemed like many of the customers ere regulars. Not at all like many La Jolla tourist spots. Bernini's is a mid-priced restaurant with top-tier service and food. The garlic bread (actually pizza dough with garlic and parmesan) was delicious and very generously sized. (So much so that we offered some to the adjoining table!). I had the special blue-fin tuna on wasabi mashed potatoes, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. (And large enough for two meals.) My husband had the salmon, which he was very pleased with. We had a very reasonably priced bottle of top-shelf Caymus cab. As I told our server, Bernini's is my new favorite restaurant. We'll definitely be back.”

“I love the Marine Room!! This restaurant is simply stunning. The food and service is fantastic! You cannot beat the view from here.. it has quickly become one of favorite places to dine on the island!”
“Burgers are a bit greasy but pretty tasty, fries are meh. People taking orders seem distracted. The hours are nice. Seems geared towards the college crowd, not my scene. 7/10 overall.”
“Quick, delicious, and fresh, every item us made instantly and basically infront of you, the Burger was extra delicious, the fries tasted like real potatoes instead of this other big franchise ones, Service was great, 1 batch of fries was enough for 2 people worth their price.Parking: Close to the beach's parking, about 5 minute walk, other than that street parking, difficult to find parking even on weekdays.”
“Okay, if I could do 4.5 stars it would get it. That being said there were a couple things I couldn't overlook.Pros: let's just get it out of the way, the view is 5 stars. If ocean views mean something to you, get here during a non busy hour and enjoy a window seat.Probably the most rich and umami filled broth I've had in SD County. Both the flying pig and me so hot broths were..... I want to just take a pot home with me.The pork belly in my ramen, you could actually taste a real smoke flavor.Service was perfect. Came just enough. Not over bearing and not negligent of our needs.Cons: my ramen noodles were stuck together and not free flowing. The thing that really took it to 4.5 was I saw a few too many fruit flies and a single moth. We were close to the back not near any open windows or doors.100% a good date.”
“As always, the lobster rolls are delicious. I tried the lobster salad for the first time and found it slightly disappointing. However it's still a good gluten free option at the beach.”
“You should not automatically add a 15% tip for take out. There is zero service just food prep. Should be and option to remove or reduce the automatic tip that is added.”
“Came here to do work and have a drink and the atmosphere is perfect for a beautiful day in lj to do laptop work.Great coffee and amazing matcha on tap which I was surprised how good it was! I also had their soyrizo bowl and it was pretty tasty! They have lots of breakfast and lunch options, more than any coffee shop I've been to”
“Great vegan healthy food. It’s nice to go to a cafe where I don’t have to ask if there’s any animal ingredients in it, because there’s not. Everything but a handful of menu items is gluten free as well. The set up is very cute. Plant lined patio on Girard just into La Jolla. Not far from street parking. A few blocks from La Jolla Cove. Casual dining atmosphere, very basic. Cozy booth seating inside. It’s a small space, so if you’re bringing a large party, I’d call ahead to make sure there’s seating room. Everything is made by hand fresh daily by the owner himself. The food tastes great every time I’ve gone. My husband is a huge fan of Green Door because the owner mentioned staying up the night before Christmas Eve to make all the pre ordered Christmas dinners perfect. We called a few days ahead for our Christmas dinner last year which was shepherds pie and Christmas pudding. So so good!!! All we had to do was reheat the oven items, and reheat the Christmas pudding in boiling water. The preparing instructions were put on the lids. Only took about 20 minutes to reheat. Literally the best shepherds pie I’ve had, and my husband thought it was so cool because it tasted amazing without any animal ingredients. If you’re looking for something healthy, Green Door Cafe won’t disappoint. The prices aren’t cheap. The ingredients are bought frequently from local organic growers. A friend of mine has mentioned to me seeing the owner of Green Door Cafe riding his bike back to the restaurant with a basket full of greens. Which I thought was pretty cool. You don’t have to worry if it’s going to give you a heart attack or make you fat because it’s all natural nothing is fried. Definitely worth a try!!Vegetarian options: The whole menu is plant based/vegan/mostly gluten free.Dietary restrictions: The menu is 100% vegan/plant based. Mostly gluten free menu as clearly stated next to each item.Wheelchair accessibility: Nearby street parking. Outdoor seating in front with plenty of space for a walker or wheelchair.”
“After a sour experience at Richard Walker pancake house nearby, I had lost hope in finding an allergy friendly place. Looking at this menu I was sure this place wasn't possible for us either. However as we sat down and met our server, he went above and beyond to ensure my son could have something on the menu. He even went to the back of the kitchen to make sure the staff knew to use a clean separate pan to cook up the bacon for my son so that it wouldn't have a chance of being cross contaminated. My husband and I ordered the eggs benedict and that was fabulous but what put this over the top was the service especially for handling food allergies!”
“AMAZING! Froglanders had the best Açaí Bowls ever. You will not be disappointed at all. I’ve been here over 20-30 times probably just for the Açaí Bowls. The crepes are also amazing and they have tons of Vegan options. I’m Vegan so when I get my bowls I ask for the Vegan Nutella. The way they layer their bowls are absolutely amazing. You’ll never find anything else like this, the amount of states I’ve been to and how many açaí bowls I’ve had in my life, none are ever on the same level as this one. I moved down to Chula Vista and I come all the way here just for the bowls lol. Also great peeps.”
“Very good place to eat Italian food in La Jolla! Super recommended, the pizza and the cannoli really taste very good. The owner also speaks Spanish so there is no problem. Without a doubt I would ”
“Crepe was just meh, cost was a bit on the high side. One way in one way out which allows for a better flow of customers. There is a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from and they offer coffee and tea. Outside seating is available.”
“We had a nice late lunch here on a Sunday. Friendly service and great food. We both had lamb dishes. One was the Chef Special with sour cherries. The other was a lamb shank with rice. Both were very well prepared. The rice was perfectly cooked and not too moist. I look forward to coming again.”

“Piazza 1909 is a culinary gem that never fails to impress. The homemade pasta is an absolute must-try, bursting with authentic Italian flavors that transport you straight to Italy. Their extensive selection of wines perfectly complements the exquisite dishes, making every meal a memorable experience. From the delicious Italian pizzas to the creative and authentic secondo dishes, each bite is a true delight. The wait staff is always friendly and helpful, adding to the inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. I've been several times, and each visit has been nothing short of fantastic. Whether it's a romantic date on the outdoor patio or a lively family gathering, Piazza 1909 caters to all occasions with grace and style. It's simply a wonderful spot to indulge in exceptional Italian cuisine.”
“We've patronized Piatti since it opened, so many years ago. Last night we celebrated a 100th birthday, as per the honoree's request. Our entire, rather small family was there and everyone had a great time. As always the food, service and reception were excellent but the noise was awful—we usually have meals in the patio where sound levels are acceptable. Being inside was what the honoree wanted but we wouldn't do that again. Go, sit in the patio with their heaters and enjoy!”
“The food was ??? the waffles were like Christmas morning and the eggs Benedict has the most amazing semi tangy flavor. 10 outa 10 for my first time there!!❤️”
“Reliable LJ dinner spot consistently serving pleasing food in two nostalgic, comfortable rooms. Also special for the original LJ Whaler ice cream cocktail ? Excellent pre-concert choice.”
“The restaurant is stunning, especially the outdoor patio. Our waitstaff was exceptional with service levels, wine and food recommendations as well as the bar staff. Will definitely go back.”
“Finally got to try this place and it was well worth the wait! The ambience is outstanding and made me feel like I was in Italy. Loved getting to sit next to a pic of Sophia Loren! The food was utterly fantastic from start to finish with delicious bread and tomato dip to the incredible bresaola appetizer to the mouthwatering linguine nere. Can't wait to come back again and again!”
“We visited here during our trip to San Diego on January 20, 2024. We ate coconut soup and chili shrimp. Both were awesome. Server Oliver was extremely friendly and the service was great. Highly recommend.”
“Beautiful location. Go just before sunset. The food was delicious, and the staff were exceptional. They made my birthday special with a card and an enormous size piece of cake to share.”
“Very nice staff in a rather deli-like setting. The sushi was good quality with a good variety. My two lesser grades were to the avocados in an octopus ceviche -- tiny cubes nearly impossible to pick up with chopsticks; and "fresh" wasabi that looked more like a green salsa and not very tasty. Parking was a bit of a search since the block the restaurant sits on has been closed off to provide outside tables. When in the area in search of sushi, I'd definitely go back.”
“Wow, a great place to grab a drink and appetizer to watch the sunset! We sat at the bar. Server was great. We ordered 3 appetizers: focaccia bread, fried shrimp and chips with salsa and guacamole. All 3 of us were hungry, and the appetizers took care of us for another 3 hours before we had dinner. House Chardonnay was a little pricey at $24 for a small glass, otherwise all was great. And hey, this is a premium restaurant in a premium location, so I expected it to be pricey. The appetizers were very reasonably priced though. I would highly recommend.”
“Darin was a joy! He was so kind and attentive for our toddler’s birthday dinner! He always asked at the perfect time if we needed something and was so quick to help. Darin is great and deserves a raise asap! He will be the reason we come back. The wings, couscous macaroni balls and pazookie were very good as well!!!”
“12-29-23Our first time dining here. Didn’t have reservation but we were seated right away.-Green Aqua $21- melted in your mouth.-Caterpillar $16- yummy!-Spicy Scallop $9- couldn’t taste the scallops.-Gentleman $17- just ok.-Unagi $9.50- loved the eel sauce.Tonkotsu $15- creamy delicious!Drinks:Hot Sake $7Beer $8Service:Fast. They brought everything we asked for. Nice touch, the bot delivered our food to the table.”
“This unassuming, smallish restaurant is a gem. I have eaten there twice, and highly recommend the more unusual dishes - agadashi, yakatori and mango panna cotta dessert. They have a long list of wine, beer and saki. Their sushi is good, but not anything special. Service is attentive; they really take care of you. Recommended for lunch and dinner.”
“Food was great. Staff was extremely friendly. We liked the laid back vibe. We liked it enough that we came back two nights in a row. Our favorite dishes were the Chicken Saag and Chicken Tikka Masala. Mixed Tandoori and Himalayan Biryani good too. Probably could add a bit more meat to some of the dishes, but taste was delicious. Samosas were SO good. Highly recommend. Go to Shells Beach nearby for a great sunset spot!”
“This is a great Tavern! My husband and I stayed around the corner on our honeymoon and came to the Tavern everyday! Athena was our server I apologize if I spelt your name wrong. You invited us to your Christmas party and we had a blast just a day after our wedding. Thank you for our memories and the Philly cheese steak was the best we had! Please ask for Athena she make the best drinks! Thank you for our margaritas on the beach. We will definitely be returning on our next adventure! Thank you for your hospitality”
“It was a block from where we were staying so why not? Went on a busy Sunday evening and felt like I was the guest of honor. The servers here are amazing, and there were plenty of regulars chatting with them in between bites. A place like this just makes you feel welcome, which is harder and harder to find in an environment of fast casual. I had the salt and pepper chicken and asked for it extra spicy. It was extra spicy and lightly breaded, not too heavy. They could have added a few more greens, but no problems. The onions were fresh and not overly cooked. We had a lot of great food in San Diego and this place held its own. Not mind glowinglygood just old fashioned American style Chinese with that "family" atmosphere mostly of a prior time and place.”

“A group of five of us went in October 2023. The theme was based on Edgar Allen Poe. WE LOVED IT. The decor, the food, the table set-up, the service, the show....we still talk about it. We plan to make this an annual dinner/show tradition every year.”

“Just tried their Black & White cupcake and it was gooooood. I really enjoyed the dense icing. The cake itself was moist and soft and the contrast between the cake and the topping went together perfectly. It was so good, it's worth closing your eyes and savoring every bite.”
“Sometimes they run out of flavors, especially the one you really want. I also think one cookie is a little pricey. I think they should sell the smaller cookies daily especially for kids. I like how they change the flavors each week though.”
“We didn't have to wait for a table on a Sunday afternoon, which was surprising.I visited the restaurant twice in a week. The food was good. I tried the Chilaquiles, the breakfast toastadas, SD Benedict and the protein scramble. Loved the crispy potatoes! It's a cute little spot for breakfast with a great variety of vegetarian options too.Parking can be tricky.”
“The coffee and bakery tastes pretty good. Barista was friendly. I bought some whole beans, although they don’t mark the date when the beans were roasted or an expiration date. To have the best of coffee a fresh roast and consumption in a month or so is a must.”
“I cannot say enough good things about this place. Starting with the owners; they are amazing people who work incredibly hard and care about the community. Their food hits the spot every time. SO good!! They also catered an event for our school and everyone LOVED the food. The restaurant is very family-friendly, and it’s right near the water. Check it out!!”
“Harry's coffee shop is an absolute staple in the community and my husband and I always enjoy coming here for breakfast and brunch! They have an old school diner vibe but the food is so much better than your normal diner. I love getting the waffle combo with eggs and bacon. The waffle is light but crispy. Sometimes I splurge and grab a side of hash browns which are also super good. My husband loves the Reuben on rye bread. I also love that they have an espresso machine! I had an iced dirty chai latte and it was super good, just what I needed. The service is always good. Everyone is working hard and moving fast. They get busy so be patient! And definitely add Harry's to your list of 'must try's'. You won't regret it.”
“Incredibly cute, love the coffee, fantastic pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies, and very friendly staff. The guy on the register was super attentive and very handsome!”
“Great high quality coffee, great vibes, kind staffParking: Free street parking for ~2 hours, but park in a neighborhood a block away and you have free parking forever”
“Excellent food - lasagne, caprese, and limoncello. Everything was authentic and real world Italian. The place is small inside but we snagged a table outside and thoroughly enjoyed each course. The limoncello is out of this world refreshing. Ciao!”
“Frozen Yogurt (Frozen Tart) I was impressed because it tasted the same as the yogurt ice cream I used to eat in Korea! The taro ice cream is also really delicious. I will come again ”
“LOVE the pizza! Genuinely some of the best in San Diego, hands down. Highly customizable and I love that they have vegan options, super cool! Had a bit of an odd experience tonight with an employee making fun of my name within earshot of my boyfriend who was picking up my order. I get that I have a unique name, but maybe wait til the customer is out of earshot before laughing and repeatedly making jokes about it to your coworkers? Totally realize that she probably thought my bf was picking up an order as a delivery driver instead of being the customer. Still, didn’t love that moment. Other than that mildly off-putting experience, this is the best pizza in town!!! 10000/10, highly recommend!! You won’t be disappointed ?Vegetarian options: Tons of vegetarian and vegan options!!!!”
“Delicious! I've gotten the Social and Chili, and they were both delicious! The social is extremely flavorful but MESSY and greasy. The egg is drippy and messy but I'll always add it. The chili is also delicious and the pita is so soft! The people are super friendly and the price is fair considering everywhere else on campus is just the same price but smaller servings. I always go during lunch time and it's not too bad. There's definitely a rush but it doesn't get loud, and you can sit inside or outside. The food comes out fast so that's a plus for me since I'm on a time crunch!10/10 recommend if you're on campus and have time to sit down and eat!”
“Came here for a late lunch with three friends. Ordered pad see-ew with tofu, beef drunken noodles, calamari pad Thai, curry with beef, and basil eggplant to share (not pictured). My drunken noodles were top notch, although some morsels of beef were *very* tough. Our shared eggplant dish was great; nice texture and an amazing sauce to mix with a side of rice. As for the rest, a generally positive consensus—good flavors (but slightly muted), great portion sizes, and as authentic as it can get!Loved the hospitality, the silverware, the seating (which is cushioned if dining outdoors), and the overall peaceful vibe. Even though the location is tucked away, come here if you want a leisurely luncheon! It may even be a nice date spot too. Just make sure to bring around $25 per person; our bill split perfectly somehow ($100.44).Vegetarian options: Your selection of protein can be vegetarian (e.g. veg, tofu), but a dish can be vegetarian on request or from the dish description.”

Cove House
“Very good place to eat Italian food in La Jolla! Super recommended, the pizza and the cannoli really taste very good. The owner also speaks Spanish so there is no problem. Without a doubt I would ”
Cheap Eats
“This place is near and dear to my heart. I first went here as a 20 year old UCSD student in the late 90s and continued to eat here regularly until leaving San Diego 3 years ago. Whenever I'm back in San Diego it will be one of the first places I visit. It simply is the best kebabs I've had in my life. I say this as someone who lived in NYC and has traveled around the world a fair bit. Sure, you have to put in an order early during the lunch rush, but there is a reason for it.”
“This place is really unassuming, but the food is so good. Their wings are crispy, juicy and saucy all great things combined together. And their service was really quick and everything was very nice. Some of us got the sandwiches. Some of us got the wings and got different flavors and everybody went away happy.”
“The selling pint for Pinpoint Cafe is the view! It's located on UCSD's campus, a little ways up from Scripps pier. There really isn't accessible parking nearby so be prepared to walk. The coffee and food here is honestly on the average side. They have some simple foods like acai bowls, breakfast burritos etc. That being said, the view is fantastic so it's worth checking out on its own!”
“Incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to all things coffee and more. In-house coffee roasting so the quality is on point. Açaí bowls are tasty! Will eventually have to try the rest of the menu.”
“The yummiest Mexican food in La Jolla. Always quick and delicious. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. It's easily my kids' favorite place to eat! They love the cheese quesdillas and rice. I love the veggie burrito. Top it off with their spicy red salsa ?? My husband gets the combo platter with a crunch beef taco & cheese enchilada. Very inexpensive for the great quality, and they always get our order right, even with modifications to accommodate dietary restrictions.Vegetarian options: Lots of burritos, tacos, tamales and other dishes that can be modifiedDietary restrictions: I order my burritos without cheese and they have gotten it right 100% of the timeKid-friendliness: There are only a handful of tables for dining in, but they are very welcoming to having little ones around. My kids love the most plain items on the menu (quesadilla and rice), though there are lots of options kids would like.”
“Great, authentic food. If you like Panda Express, maybe don't go here but I personally think this is much better than Panda. They also sell milk tea boba! I was finally able to try this place after the students finished their finals and I've got to say I can see why this place is always busy. My only issue is that it's really expensive to eat here. They sell food by weight but it's easy to get over $15 for a plate. However, they hold happy hours during the week, so you get a slight discount there. Anyway, definitely recommended if you feel like splurging on a good meal!”
“A very fun place to go but a bit difficult to find. They have great options for bases but a smaller amount of topping then I have seen other places. Their chia seed pudding is wonderful and they also have quite a few options for granola.”
“Best place on campus to get coffee ( in reality I just really like their self serving coffee option, it doesn't make my tummy hurt )Dietary restrictions: I like their gluten free brownies yum”
“Very relaxed atmosphere, tasty food, fast service. It's nothing fancy but that's exactly what I'm looking for on a beach vacation. We come here every single morning when we are in La Jolla which is often! Love this little cafe. Try the cinnamon rolls or maple scones (:”
“Some of the best juice I’ve ever had. They really take their time with preparing and measuring ingredients, unlike other juice places I’ve been to. Amazing customer service as well!”
“Chef Felix and family put together an excellent meal. Every. Single. Day.I've been going here for 4+ years and am still going back. Everytime Chef curates, weekly, a menu and will even still make you almost anything you can cook on a skillet. From flatbreads, to home made soups, and a Cubano I would fight you for, they make a bit of everything.¡Provecho!”
“Absolutely stunning views of the paragliders taking off and landing. The pizza made fresh in a wood fire oven was amazing. Fantastic spot for a casual lunch in a superb part of San Diego!”
“We were on a trip to San Diego and visited La Jolla for breakfast. Blown away by the food and service here. Incredibly friendly staff. The coffee was absolutely delightful. The Mexican mocha in particular was delicious. Food was fantastic. We had the acai bowl and the molletes. Everything was beautifully plated. Highly recommend anyone else check this place out.”
“After shopping, we decided to pass by this THAI restaurant called LITTLE THAI LA JOLLA. We went in the moment they opened at 4 pm for dinner. Our server came and we ordered the following foods right away: *SAMPLER - Satay chicken, curry puffs, gyoza, wonton cream cheese, and cheesy shrimp. *FRESH SPRING ROLLS SHRIMPS *CHINESE SAUSAGE FRIED RICE *DRUNKEN NOODLE *PINEAPPLE CURRY DUCK - Roast duck in red curry sauce, pineapples, tomatoes, and carrot bell peppers. * EGGPLANT - Stir-fried eggplant, onions, bell pepper, carrots, basil and house special sauce. *PAD THAI TALAY - Stir-fried egg noodles with shrimp, calamari, mussels, green onion, and bean sprouts, topped with LOBSTER and ground peanut on the side. *FRESH COCONUT My drink, the Fresh Coconut, came first, it's a refreshing drink as always. Then our Appetizer, the SAMPLER, came. Compared to other Thai restaurants that we've dined in, this Appetizer Sampler had a smaller amount of food, but they were tasty. Our food kept coming fast, our 4 SPRING ROLLS came and they were fresh and delicious, and omg, the peanut dipping sauce that came with it was so good! Everything was so so good, there's nothing that we didn't like, everything was so Good! The EGGPLANT and the PINEAPPLE CURRY DUCK were my Favorites! They both tasted good, and the sauce that came with them was so good with the White rice! The drunken noodles were so good, they weren't soggy. My son devoured it, it was so good! Their CHINESE SAUSAGE FRIED RICE has big Chunky slices of Sausages, I really love the way they cook their Fried rice here, it's very tasty. And the PAD THAI TALAY was the biggest plate on our table, it's a stir-fried egg noodle with shrimp, calamari, and mussels, topped with lobster. We had 2 servers going back and forth from our table, checking what we might need, I didn't catch the lady's name, but the other server was Enzo. Both are very Friendly. The food here in LITTLE THAI LA JOLLA was all delicious, everything is so Flavorful, and for that this restaurant became my Favorite Thai restaurant.”
“I got the Terrell Davis: turkey, bacon, and provolone. Unique Dutch bread has a pretty good flavor, the texture was a little rough on the roof of my mouth, but not enough to make me stop eating it. We saw there is a Vegas location, so we’re planning on checking out that one too. Bonus, free suckers!”
“Second floor is accessible through staircase and escalator only going upwards though. I did not see an elevator however there could be one.Food was reaaaaallly good. A bit pricey however really good seasoned food and decent portions tbh.Service was great all around!! Our server Tyler was really good and attentive. Bar back/ host was on it!!! Kept pre bussing and running our food and sides.Overall super cute!! We sat outdoors and enjoyed our lovely view in the corner looking at the ocean.”

Piazza 1909
“Nestled in the heart of La Jolla, the Corner Mercantile and Eatery beckons with its irresistible charm. As you cross the threshold, a wave of nostalgia washes over you, greeted by the comforting sights and scents of a bygone era. At the heart of this culinary haven is Lisa, the vivacious host whose laughter fills the air like a melody, instantly making you feel at home.Lisa's quick wit and mischievous twinkle infuse every encounter with laughter and joy, turning a simple meal into a delightful escapade. Her recommendations are as flavorful as her personality, guiding you through a culinary journey that leaves your taste buds tingling with delight. From savory soups to decadent desserts, each dish is a testament to the kitchen's dedication to perfection. The cozy ambiance invites you to linger, savoring not just the food but also the camaraderie shared with fellow diners. But beware, for Lisa's dry wit can catch you off guard, her piercing stare a playful challenge to keep up with her banter. Yet, it's all part of the charm that makes the Corner Mercantile and Eatery more than just a restaurant—it's a cherished memory waiting to be savored again and again. And she knows my friend Sarita who we were visiting immediately after we left Lisa. Make it a stop.”

Piatti
“We've patronized Piatti since it opened, so many years ago. Last night we celebrated a 100th birthday, as per the honoree's request. Our entire, rather small family was there and everyone had a great time. As always the food, service and reception were excellent but the noise was awful—we usually have meals in the patio where sound levels are acceptable. Being inside was what the honoree wanted but we wouldn't do that again. Go, sit in the patio with their heaters and enjoy!”
“The food was ??? the waffles were like Christmas morning and the eggs Benedict has the most amazing semi tangy flavor. 10 outa 10 for my first time there!!❤️”
“As a vegetarian, the presentation of all the fresh food was my #1 sign - this was going to be good, I hoped. Then the friendly people working was another. So yes, my ancient grain salad was full of flavor, great variety & textures. It's my jam 100%. My husband enjoyed the beef w hummus & rice. Both dishes were fantastic! Highly recommended...AZ?! Healthy options are always welcome!Vegetarian options: Always looking for fresh, yet fast food- it's here!”
Latest Reviews
“The irresistibly addictive nature of this food bothers me! The dishes boast a fresh and natural flavor, with each ingredient having its taste accentuated and seamlessly blended. It would be beneficial for the restaurant to consider hiring a nutritionist, as many negative reviews revolve around the absence of nutritional information for each bowl. Despite being slightly on the pricier side, this has become my new go-to spot, as the value lies in avoiding the time-consuming task of preparing each ingredient. I highly recommend giving this place a try!”
“Very good burger, excellent service. We showed up with a big group of adults and toddlers, and the owner was very helpful in seating us and bringing baby seats and booster seats. In addition to being very tasty, the burgers were also very well constructed. Not a single ingredient dropped out of burger while eating.”

“Beautiful location. Go just before sunset. The food was delicious, and the staff were exceptional. They made my birthday special with a card and an enormous size piece of cake to share.”
“The restaurant is stunning, especially the outdoor patio. Our waitstaff was exceptional with service levels, wine and food recommendations as well as the bar staff. Will definitely go back.”
“Order at counter, food is delivered. Very fresh, not overly seasoned, chicken just a little salty. Mostly outdoor seating. Sandwiches, salads, protein of choice, soups. All well prepared.”
“Always tastes great, although serving sizes do fluctuate every time I go. The employees do seem to not be familiar with the limited time menu items, as I asked about the Basalmic Date Chicken and they seem confused about it and told me they didn’t have it even though it was on the menu.”
“Great food, clean place with an A rating on the window & a great atmosphere. Our server Kim was very attentive without being over the top. Food came out quickly but I could tell it was made to order. Everything we ordered was great- we had a party of 6 and all ordered different meals- all were really good, I don't think you can go wrong with anything from the menu. My kiddo had the chicken strips and it was fresh chicken, not frozen- and my super picky kid ate all of the huge serving. If we lived in the area this would definitely be a regular spot for us. Would highly recommend!”
“This place is a hidden gem! The friendliest of staff and the most delicious coffee. Try the Mayan mocha….you will not regret it. I will continue to come to this delightful little shop every morning I spend in La Jolla. Great job, owners!”
“Had time to kill in La Jolla and was pleasantly surprised by this place. The weight staff is very attentive and great at making dish recommendations. Nothing beats enjoying a Happy hour with a view like this.”

“Reliable LJ dinner spot consistently serving pleasing food in two nostalgic, comfortable rooms. Also special for the original LJ Whaler ice cream cocktail ? Excellent pre-concert choice.”
“We had a delightful dining experience at this restaurant, where we reserved a table specifically for its delectable cuisine and stunning ocean view. To kick off the evening, I opted for a dark beer, reminiscent of Guinness, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Despite not being overly hungry, we decided to try two appetizers: the clam and octopus. The generous portions left us completely satisfied, with flavors that were absolutely exquisite. Our server, Ryan, was incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through the menu with helpful recommendations. His friendly demeanor and exceptional customer service truly enhanced our dining experience. We savored our meal while taking in the beautiful ocean view, making it one of the most memorable dining experiences during our time in La Jolla.”
“We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Sammy's woodfired Pizza in La Jolla. Our waiter, Robert B., Was expedient and courteous. He catered to our needs, and was very personable.”

“This place was a big of a hidden gem - the service was incredible for fast casual and the empanadas and beans and rice were probably the best we have had - cooked perfectly and so well seasoned. We also loved the Ropa Vieja. Also don't miss the Cuban coffee and a cinnamon roll!”
“Nestled within the quaint charm of La Jolla, Blue Whale offers a delightful escape with its classic French toast. Made with thick-cut brioche and adorned with a delectable raspberry and vanilla cream, alongside a tangy raspberry compote and a sprinkle of powdered sugar, each bite is a harmonious blend of flavors. What truly enhances the experience is the warm service, reminiscent of the friendly vibes of a seaside community. For a tranquil breakfast experience that satisfies both the palate and the soul, Blue Whale is the perfect destination.”
