“Delicious! I've gotten the Social and Chili, and they were both delicious! The social is extremely flavorful but MESSY and greasy. The egg is drippy and messy but I'll always add it. The chili is also delicious and the pita is so soft! The people are super friendly and the price is fair considering everywhere else on campus is just the same price but smaller servings. I always go during lunch time and it's not too bad. There's definitely a rush but it doesn't get loud, and you can sit inside or outside. The food comes out fast so that's a plus for me since I'm on a time crunch!10/10 recommend if you're on campus and have time to sit down and eat!“
“If you’re vegetarian and craving pizza, Dough Momma is the place to be. I’m not a thin crust kind of gal but their toppings surpassing my favorite pizza joint.I had the Burrata Margherita ($29), class cheese ($22) and Vegan (23).The margherita is one of the two highest price pizzas on the menu. Make sense because it’s all fresh ingredients with tomatoes, Burrata, mozzarella, no sauce but drizzle with a white garlic sauce and garnished with basil.I never eat cheese pizza but I love the cheese pizza here. Basic red sauce mozzarella. I like it because it had more sauce than cheese. If you want to know if a place is good, check out the cheese pizza. Dough Momma passes the test! The Vegan was fully loaded spinach, olives, red onions, roasted tomatoes, herbs and balsamic reduction. Some pizzas are offered by the slice. At first glance, the garlic knots could pass as a mini cinnamon roll! They have cookies and wide selection of beers and alcohol.Parking sucks but it’s in a cute neighborhood with outdoor seating.“
“Great fresh seafood! We ordered the grilled octopus, the steamed clam + mussels, ceviche, and fish n’ chips.First everything you can tell is fresh- something I truly appreciated. The grilled octopus was perfectly cooked and comes with a delicious salad. One of the best octopus plates I’ve had. The steamed clam + mussels were also delicious- it actually reminded me of one of my favorite meals I had on a visit to Portugal. Fish n’chips were also very good.Ceviche was meh. I would recommend not getting this. If they could take it off their menu, even better because the other things they have are so great.“
“LOVE this restaurant!! Great food served by an excellent crew. Had dinner here one night, back for lunch the next day. Out of town tourists that wished we were local.Parking: Maybe quick free parking at the bank. Street parking was difficult.“
“This was the best restaurant experience I have ever had. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Our order arrived on time, and most importantly, the dishes were delicious. I visited the place with my wife, and she was very pleased. As they say, a happy wife equals a happy life.“
“Where has this place been all my life??? It feels like a spa. All tucked away from the hustle bustle. Lots of green and chill vibes. The friuted sour is literally all I ever wanted in a beer. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. This place is the perfect location to start your night out, or come for a quick break from life. Def will be back “
“Nice smoky and spicy flavors; as Marc Murphy says, "seasoned with authority." Very nice staff. The cucumber pickles took me right back to my childhood, to family dinners on the High Plains, prepared by my bachelor farmer great-uncles and an unmarried aunt or two, who had their Southern roots in their memories. Yummmm!“
“Very good service. They treated us very respectfully and attentively during our stay. The special tacos are quite large with a price of $10 each and the mini tacos or street tacos are $5. Their drinks are delicious and fresh fruit waters even more so. Beers in variety. I was satisfied with a specialty taco and 2 street tacos. The place is clean and quiet.“
“My daughter and I are from Arizona and we were at the beach and decided to try coaster saloons and it was amazing. Their food was so good and the service was awesome we didn’t stay and eat we took it to go but they were very nice and welcomed us right when we walked in and again, the food was amazing and I highly recommend it.“
“Sam is the owner and he made a fantastic pizza for us.We got the San Diego and it was delicious. Great wings, brunch mozz sticks, soft and fresh pizza. My wife is a huge pica snob and doesn’t like it much but this was a hit with her.Thank you for the pizza Sam, sending love from Riverside.“
“Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a low sugared, 5% alcoholic content beverage. Kove has a good number of choices, various samples and flavors to try (nice of the staff, who were friendly and welcoming). The entire place has a great atmosphere, indoor seating as well as outdoor setup. Kome on by to try the best yerba mate I have ever had.“
“I've been on a burger kick so my husband has been taking me to all his favorite places. I ordered the balboa burger and it was delicious ! Along with the fries , I really enjoyed the aioli sauce. I'm excited to come back and try out the different burgers. Everyone who works here is great ! It's a pretty cool place to drink some beers and play some pool.“
“My husband and I rarely go to sushi. Besides our favorite place back home because it’s usually such a disappointment. We decided to give this a try and I’m so glad that we did! Stephanie was phenomenal! ? The atmosphere was great and all of the food was delicious. We got a Bento box and two rolls and will definitely be back!“
“Update 7/19/2023: This place still rocks! They are a two person brewery team that really cares about what they make and have a fun/creative attitude to the names they assign to these great beers!Previous Review: Great small brewery run by just two guys. They're mellow, smart, and friendly.... Oh and the beers are great. My wife loves their brown ale (Recluse). My boy loves their root beer with a cinnamon punch. I love their IPAs (Cow Bell and More Cow Bell) as well as the dark ale (Basilisks).“
“Stopped by for a quick beer, very cool atmosphere and great hospitalityMichael and Scott were helpful when we asked to taste a few beers before we buy. Tastings FOR THE WIN!! Thank You!Had 2 delicious Double IPAs.Cheers ? ... till next time“
“We finished eating at Buona Forchetta and wanted to continue with drinks. Kindred was packed so we came to Harland. So glad we did. We got seated immediately, great drink options and great prices! It was too cold to sit outside but great if you have fur babies.“
“What a charming spot! Visited on a leisurely Saturday afternoon and were seated right away. Ordering at the counter was a breeze, and then we chose our own cozy spot. The selection of kombucha on tap caught my eye, though they also offer beer and wine.We indulged in the Tokyo fries, bahn mi, and tom kah soup. Each dish arrived at the perfect temperature and bursting with flavor. The friendly service added to the delightful experience. I'd definitely come back for more!“
“I go here more days out of the month than I don't generally and always great service, great donuts, and great mimosas! Can't think of any complaints after dozens of visits... Even if I try... Prices are actually extremely reasonable too for what you get...“
“It's a great spot. I've visited 3 or 4 times in my tenure in SD. Don't want to over hype it but it's definitely worth the wait. Usually less than 30 min burgers are huge so plan accordingly.Vegetarian options: Grill cheese and un burger are pretty tasty. Expect a lot of veggies on your un burger.“
“My boyfriend and I LOVE getting breakfast from here. We most often get the breakfast burrito and it is SO delicous and filling. The other night we decided to go here to try the afternoon meals. The fish and chips....try it, just do it, SO GOOD. I have also now gotten the PM breakfast burrito and hot diggity!! I had also gotten a side salad and the size was for sure worth the extra $4, it could have been a entree itself. Additionally, we have gotten the wings to split and I smacked those bad boys down. The crew is nice, parking isn't the worst, and the atmosphere is a really cool vibe. All that in addition to some delish food, there is no losing.“
“We visited on the 22nd 23rd and 25th of September in 2023 (Jim and Priya) I've been in a lot of cigar lounges and this is by far the most awesome experience I've ever had. The decor is like a movie set and the crowd is young and fun and eclectic. You will not find better ambiance anywhere. The host Christine took fabulous care of us and even let me borrow her torch - not something every lounge will do. They serve a nice selection of beer/wine and are open till Midnight. When we find ourselves in town again we're sure to come back.“
“The beer choices were good and the bar tender was excellent at helping to help me narrow it down for a flight of 4 beers. Don't listen to google, it was totally open on a Wednesday at 3 when google said they are closed on Wednesdays. The coco ono ipa was delicious! I'm not an ipa girl, I dislike hoppy beer, but the subtle coconut flavor made the beer delightful. But hands down favorite, so good I said "f*** that's delicious" after my first sip was the Ziggy Stardust sour. A must do while in Dan DiegoSide note: cleanest bathroom I've ever seen in a brewery, across the whole US. It's unisex, but it is clean! Thank you, the ladies, we appreciate that!!!“
“There is new ? champ in PB!!! Ordered the double smash burger & it was phenomenal. Taproom was the first spot I went to in PB & throughout the years has been the go to ever since. The music is great, ? selection is amazing, and the place is a vibe. The blueprint is to order the truffalo wings, lobster Mac n cheese, and the smash burger if you’re with a group to share. Get the beer flights & experience euphoria!??“
“Really enjoyed the pizza! I have no problem with nearby Luigi's, but was eager to try a new place powered by gnarly girlz that had what looked like promising NY style pizza. Was NOT disappointed! The staff was awesome, the beer selection was great, and the pizza was actually great and may be my new local favorite. I had the "Tastes Like Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup" and it was just all the best flavors together in one place.“
“I threw an engagement party here for my sister and her fiance. This was the easiest, best place to throw an event! Everyone was super helpful and clear on everything we could do. They accommodated many things we wanted and made the night perfect. Thank you to Brett and the team at duck foot!“
“They have the best Kombucha & usually incredible IPAs & Stout. Best brewery in SD. I host Kombucha or Beer & paint parties at this location. Join us, Search original art cafe nova on Eventbrite or Allevents for workshop times & location!“
“An awesome little gem nestled away at the One America Plaza trolley stop! The service was warm, friendly and upbeat. I felt so welcome. And the taco trio was outstanding -- I couldn't finish it (the little side of tortilla chips and salsa were delicious, too! I added avocado and it elevated already perfect tacos. I work nearby and this was my first time here. Will definitely be back!“
“I recommend lemon jin if you don't like the taste of alc but still want to drink alc. I personally thought it just tasted like soda, so I didn't like it much. Ddeokbokki is good, nothing special. I ordered crispy soy half and signature sauce half. The portions are bigger than I thought. The food was very good. It's a good drinking place : )“
“Visiting nearby from Honolulu. Was hungry after enjoying the UCSD WOW festival. Stopped into Balboa's for a quick peek at the NCAA Men's final 4. Special was Chicken Shawarma with fries for 12 bucks. Large portion great fries. Was surprised how tasty and clean-tasting the food was...Extensive Beer selection on tap was great. Service was friendly and attentive, especially Aidan and Kory. Aidan is hysterical with a grand sense of humor...hoping to return before I head home. The local and friendly atmosphere not what I was expecting nor how many people were there as appeared to be a complete hole-in-the wall. Delighted to learn a family run establishment...no corporate stuff here...Check Balboa's Tap House out. Nothing fancy but a great value.“
“This place serves 85 years of proven deliciousness. It is simple. It is hearty. These days, it is even out of the ordinary. Just go. You will be glad that you did. If you are like me, you’ll remember how Mom would heat the oven to 450 degrees and place the block of ice Hungry Man pot pie in the oven for one hour till it transformed into a cauldron of molten lava. My mother would even crack open the hood of the pie and load it with an extra cup of frozen peas and carrots that would cook to perfection in the heavenly inferno of scrumptious delight, which made me the muscular hunk of love that I am today. The San Diego Chicken Pie Shop serves up a pie that is an even better recipe than the one in my memories of my dear Mom. If your are nearby, give it a try.“
“Amazing vibe, food, and taps! That such a simple idea could take off like this is a treat. Great space for friends, or just to chill and catch a game. About 4 billion pretzels and sauces to choose from, and the taps are creative and diverse. Wish I was closer.“
“My yesterday Friday was spent right on point at this cute place @publichouselajolla in downtown Lajolla. Their burgers are beautifully delicious, I love the vibe there and the service was so kind, everybody was smiling and friendly. We got to try La jolla cove and Santana burgers, i don't want to forget their fish and chips as well. It is highly recommended to enjoy the food and the location“
“More like a Dive Bar with a college degree. Casual but smart. The staff. And owner are individuals were their own min ds and lives and are not just there to hustle a drinks quota. Kind of European that way. But definite undertones of a Tribeca downtown bar. The live music is real live blues and decent musicians. What’s the word I’m looking for? Oh yeah, authentic.“
“I live and hate this place however, there's no denying the quality of its food—it's among the best Mexican restaurants in town. However, the ambiance can be a bit overwhelming at times. The place tends to get crowded and hectic, especially during peak hours. The loud music adds to the lively atmosphere, but it can make conversation difficult. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate dinner where you can catch up with friends or family, this might not be the ideal spot. Nevertheless, if you're solely focused on indulging in delicious food, it's definitely worth a visit.“
“We had lunch with my wife today at this place, and let me tell you, the food was amazing, the place looks great on the inside ( can’t talk much about the atmosphere, because we literally show up almost as soon as they opened for the day so it was empty), but the food ( once again) is to die for, not lie, so so good. Very impressed! 10/10 I’ll recommend it.“
“I attended a wonderful birthday dinner at the Parado. The outside patio was the perfect setting for our group of four. Our waiter Beto gave us excellent service. He was very knowledgeable about the menu items and gave us specific details about the ingredients. The beet salad on a bed of arugula was fresh and well presented. My sea bass was cooked to perfection, moist with a nice sear on top.The German chocolate cake and coffee topped off an enjoyable meal. The excellent service and courtesy from the Parado emplyees really set the bar high.“
“Came to Del Mar for a nice afternoon visit with the kids. Was worried about food being too upscale. Wanted a nice beer and tried WestBrew. What an excellent choice. I had the WestBrew burger with a side salad, and it was the best food I’ve had since being in California all week. Wife had the club and loved it. They have kids menus, crayons, and kids cups. Had the seal cove and was very surprised by its delicious taste. Great choice of IPAs. Super simple little spot and would def. Recommend to anyone who comes to Del Mar for a lunch spot.Kid-friendliness: Kid menu, crayons, kids cups“
“Oh my baGawk!Their chicken is soo ridiculously good. And that's coming from a vegetarian that had their crispy plant tenders. Pair it with their house salad and a beer and you'll be set! I look forward to eating here whenever we're around one of their 3 locations because they never disappoint! It's the only place where my very carnivorous bf and I can comfortably eat a full crispy chicken meal with our toddler , who is now also a huge fan.Vegetarian options: Plant based tenders in multiple sauce/flavor options , sides , saladsKid-friendliness: Outdoor shaded, enclosed patioWheelchair accessibility: Out door patio“
“A place to get burgers & bait and beer while you're fishing. Although technically, you don't have to be fishing to eat here. If you're walking by or you're in the area and it's a nice day, it's a nice place to just grab a little bite to eat, especially on a nice day.The prices are a tad high but let's just say having a burger in the sunshine is totally worth it.Parking: Plenty of free parking. It's at a park right next to a large music venue and when there's no music, there's plenty of parking.“
“This restaurant is absolutely amazing. I have not had such a great dining experience like this in such a long time. We visited SD for the 1st time and selected Fred's based on their dog friendly patio. I am SO happy we came here. Upon arriving we were greeted by the hostess Alyssa who was bright bubbly & so sweet to our dog Mojito. We were sat right away at a great table by the fire. Service was so quick to bring a fresh bowl of water for Mojito. Our server Stephanie was amazing!! She was energetic and her positive attitude was refreshing. She made a great drink recommendation for me and got our orders going quickly. Before our food arrived I was already so happy with the experience- I mean where else can you take your dog where they get their own menu & are treated so kindly?? I was ready to expect average Mexican food since we came from Phoenix and my fiancé is Mexican himself. But the food was FANTASTIC. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with refried beans and my fiancé ordered the California Burrito. I had the berry mojito that was on special, and finished up the night with a surprise shooter that Stephanie recommended for me. Everything was fantastic. Wait time 10/10, service 12/10, pricing is very fair and reasonable compared to Phoenix 10/10. I wish we lived here so we could come back more frequently, but I can say that this will easily become a mandatory visit for any future trips to SD. Thank you so much Stephanie, Alyssa, and the whole team who work hard to create such an amazing atmosphere“
“Welcome to Killowat Brewing, where the beer flows like a river and the vibes are trippier than a kaleidoscope on steroids. This place is like Willy Wonka's factory for adults, except instead of chocolate, they're brewing up some serious liquid magic.First off, let's talk about the beer selection. It's like a treasure trove of hoppy goodness. They've got everything from crisp lagers to hoppy IPAs that'll knock your socks off. And if beer's not your thing, fear not! They've also got hard seltzer on tap for all you bubbly aficionados, and let me tell you, it's as refreshing as a dip in the fountain of youth. But what really sets Killowat apart is their unique alcohol slushy drinks. I mean, who knew you could turn booze into a brain freeze-inducing concoction of pure bliss? It's like drinking your favorite cocktail through a straw made of happiness. And don't even get me started on the atmosphere. It's like stepping into a psychedelic adult game room. Everywhere you look, there's neon lights, funky artwork, and a vibe that says, "Come for the drinks, stay for the party." It's the kind of place where you can let your freak flag fly and nobody bats an eye.So if you're looking for a place to vibe out, meet some new friends, and enjoy some seriously awesome drinks, look no further than Killowat Brewing in Ocean Beach. Just make sure to bring your sense of adventure and maybe a spare liver, because things tend to get a little wild around here. Cheers to good times and even better drinks!“
“Staff at this location goes above and beyond! The bartenders here always have a great attitude and provide excellent customer service! I normally frequent Scripps Harland location but the mood and the staff here at One Paseo really exceed. Thank you for providing amazing beer food and customer service to everyone who visits.“
“Immediately upon walking in, we felt so welcome. The "slave" as he called himself was so friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic! So well prepared and tasty. Great portions, great options. And the atmosphere! Wow. It's a beautiful place, and the staff made it feel that much more! Beautiful. We loved this place!“
“Dying for a beer? Black Plague is a great spot for a beer and a bite with a spooky theme. This North Park location is a taproom for Black Plague, a brewery with their main location in Oceanside. It's a bit cozy, but it has distinctive Plague Doctor theme, and other spooky stuff to help it stand out from your "normal" brewery. We tried a pretty large portion of the beer menu, and everything was good. None of the beer truly stood out as different or special, but not every brewery needs to experiment with new things. We got some food that was easy to share with the group, cheese curds (Curds of Doom) and poutine (Molten Mayhem). It's appropriate bar food for the location. PROPS: Unique theme that extends from how the location is decorated, to the names of every item. This is a great place for pictures. SLOPS: While everything we ate and drank was good, nothing stood out as great. It feels like they're playing it safe with the menu.“
“This place is a real Gem, excellent coffee, tea & pastries. Cigar friendly, with a nice selection for sale. Even as a tourist you get that local neighborhood vibe and they treat ya like family! Staff was so friendly and hospitable! Loved the decor and atmosphere, this place will definitely be one of my go to stops when we visit again!“
“A fresh take on gourmet donuts. Vegan donuts are excellent, even if you do not have diet restrictions. I have been to this place for years and am glad to see seasonal items popping up now and then. Service is quick, and there is a friendly staff--the fantastic smell of donuts inside the store. The area does not have a lot of seating, but Paseo One has enough seating area you just have to find a spot. Great place for sweet“
“Cool and relaxed San Diego bar close to Balboa park. Free parking in a garage right around the corner! The Ahi nachos were recommended but they were too hard to eat on narrow pasta chips! Drinks were tasty and beer selection was good. Definately will go again and try different appetizers!“
“There are three other locations. They have Trivia Tuesday and Wing Wednesday. We just missed their happy hour from 3-5pm M-T so we just got tasters and hung out.Loved that they offer variety of food like Korean fried chicken sandwich, Bavarian pretzel, and plant based impossible burger. The beers on tap have 3 sizes.I got 5 ounce Carlsbad crush which was too hoppy for me but if you pair it with food, it took the hoppiness down and a notch. Then I had the 5 ounce Invita - Mexican lager which was light and yummy. Tasted even better with food pairing. The location is at a corner. Literally a short block from the Sante Fe Depot trolley stop. All tables were bar height except for two tables in the corner.Friendly staff and great ambiance.Dogs are allowed in the patio. However, inside dogs are reserved for service animals.“
“Best sandwich shop around. This is the original one and its in the best location. Easy to take one to-go and bring it to the beach, or stay and have an ice cold brew while there. You must get their sauce if you go. In my opinion it what makes the sandwich SO incredibly good. I usually get the cold ones (turkado) but i have had the chicken sandwich as well which was great.“
“LOVE the pizza! Genuinely some of the best in San Diego, hands down. Highly customizable and I love that they have vegan options, super cool! Had a bit of an odd experience tonight with an employee making fun of my name within earshot of my boyfriend who was picking up my order. I get that I have a unique name, but maybe wait til the customer is out of earshot before laughing and repeatedly making jokes about it to your coworkers? Totally realize that she probably thought my bf was picking up an order as a delivery driver instead of being the customer. Still, didn’t love that moment. Other than that mildly off-putting experience, this is the best pizza in town!!! 10000/10, highly recommend!! You won’t be disappointed ?Vegetarian options: Tons of vegetarian and vegan options!!!!“
