“Had the MTW pita it was very fresh and tasty. The open kitchen concept is cool, you can see the shawarma and pita being made. I went on a Tuesday at peak lunch time and it was fairly busy, the food came out promptly and the cashier was friendly and welcoming. Came for the vegan/plant based options and was happy with the selection. It's really nice to have a fast casual option that's fresh. Will definitely be back.“

“Just tried the falafel sandwich from Falafel California and it did not disappoint! The bread was perfectly grilled and crispy with a nice toasted flavor, wrapped tight and packed with flavor. It came with three different sauces (garlic, spicy red, and a mild white sauce) — each one added something different and paired really well with the sandwich.

Everything was neat and well packaged too. Great quality for the price. Will definitely be ordering again and highly recommend it to anyone in the area.“

“Really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere is probably one of my favorite parts—dark, low-lit, great music, and just a really cool vibe. It has almost a speakeasy feel without trying too hard. Definitely a great spot for a date or just grabbing drinks and sharing a bunch of plates.

The biggest shoutout goes to Marcello behind the bar. Dude was awesome from the second we sat down. I had no idea what I wanted and he immediately started asking what I was in the mood for and recommending things instead of just handing me a menu. He strongly recommended the Moroccan cigars and stuffed mushrooms, and I’m glad I listened. Rodrigo was great too, but Marcello really went out of his way to make sure we had a good experience.

I ended up getting the Moroccan cigars, stuffed mushrooms, and my friend the chicken schnitzel. The Moroccan cigars surprised me because I’m normally not even a big lamb person, but they were crispy, flavorful, and the creamy dipping sauce was great. The stuffed mushrooms had pesto, which I love, and were really good—maybe a little heavily seasoned for me, but I’d still order them again. The chicken schnitzel was solid, but honestly the salad and creamy sauce that came with it might have been my favorite part of that dish.

I also had the Kind of a Big Dill cocktail. Good, refreshing gin drink—not necessarily something I’d come back specifically for, but I enjoyed it.

Overall, really good food, awesome atmosphere, and excellent service. There are still a bunch of things on the menu I want to try, so I’ll definitely be back. And if Marcello recommends something, I’d probably just listen to him.“

“We have ordered Kebabs before here, we recently ordered a meal kit that was all rice and hardly any meat, I mean it was a joke, its a $30 meal. I messaged them because we have ordered several times before and thought maybe they would try to make it right but they never replied. This was 2 weeks ago. We will never buy food here again! The servings are very small and there are tons of other places to eat or order take out around here if they want to be jerks about it! The food is average really, we order out frequently so as not to have to cook and live in the area. We got about $1 worth of rice and lettuce for a $30 meal plate, what a joke!“

“I have eaten lunch twice in two weeks at the Shawarma Guys Mira Mesa location. It certainly exceeded it's reputation which I learned about from Gareth Eats channel on YouTube. I ordered the Wagyu Beef Shawarma Pita (Bryan's Way). It was outstanding, and the garlic sauce was finger linkin good. The following week I ordered the Chicken Cream Chop Shawarma Pita (Bryan's Way) and it was absolutely delicious with that lemon garlic sauce. Make sure to order it Bryan's Way. It comes wrapped in aluminum foil, over a foot long, toasted to crispy perfection on all sides. Keep the foil wrapper on while you eat it, otherwise you make a mess on the table, because it's so crispy, and you don't want to miss a single crispy bite.

One fact we discovered with great delight was they do not use any 'seed oils' in their cooking. That's an important healthful living detail.

The restaurant's seating area is small with efficient long tables seating 6 people per table, about 30 people maximum. There's a lot of take-away service happening here too. The staff took their time explaining all the choices to us, and gave us their favorite recommendations. We loved it and look forward to making this a regular spot. The space was very clean, bright, with plenty of extra sauce for the asking. It's not fancy inside, but it's delicious and worth the visit.“
