“Enjoyed it totally! 2 nd time and will go back again. Love the food and the menu“
“Food was delicious, but very portion limited. Perfect for me because I'm a small plate eater. Someone eats full meals may be either frustrated or leave hungry.
Wasn't at all busy. The server mostly left me alone (and went back to watching slot cars on TV). I saw him when he took my order, brought my food, and almost an hour when I had to ask him to get my check. Had I wanted anything else I'd have had to go find him. Perfectly fine vibe for me but not the best for a group.
The bathroom is a hard pass. Clean-ish but the handicap stall door didn't lock or even fully close. As someone with mobility issues this was a red flag.“

“Marketplace Grille is an absolute standout in La Jolla Village!
From the moment you walk in, you can tell this is a hands-on, heart-driven business. Owners Tony and Camilla are truly involved, and it shows in both the exceptional service and the consistently high-quality food.
Their Mediterranean cuisine is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared — perfect for a quick meal or feeding a crowd. And if you’re looking for catering, they offer some of the most reasonable pricing around without ever cutting corners on taste or presentation.
Reliable, delicious, and welcoming every time — Marketplace Grille is a must-try and a go-to for events!“

“This was sooooo good! We come to La Jolla all the time and I don’t know why we didn’t eat at this restaurant sooner. We have walked by it a million times and finally tried it! The food was incredible- we had the chicken skewer platter and gyro fries. The chicken and meat were very good, the pilaf was delicious, salad, veggies, tzatziki and hummus too- all 10/10. Highly recommend this place, we also sat outside by the fire and it was super warm. Service was fast and the atmosphere was great, not too busy for Friday night. The prices are great for the portion of food you get.“

“I attended the Holiday tea on 12/19 and it was one of the best Teas I have attended!
Ashley and Aaron waited on myself and my mother in law and they were fantastic!
I have a nut allergy and had mentioned it when I made the reservation months ago and they took me by surprise when they brought out a fully separate plate with all the items that they knew there fully nut free and did not mix with any of the pastries that had nuts in them.
It was such a nice touch and made the tea less stressful!
We plan to return to the Spring Tea as well!
The only “issue” was that as we enjoyed the table and food so much that we sipped our tea slowly and the tea did get cold after 1.5 hours since there was not anything to keep it warm.“

“One of my favorite spots in SD. It is a family owned and operated spot filled with great food and charisma. The owners and staff and incredibly friendly, and the food is made with lots of love. My personal favorites are the breakfast burrito with gyro and the gyro burger. Would recommend!“
“They put us in a windowless back room for Valentine's Day. Every couple in there looked super disappointed when they realized we were in a closed room (converted storage closet) next to the bathrooms. Also, I needed a steak knife to eat my chicken. The other items we ordered were drowning in chunks of raw garlic or syrupy sauce. Overall it was poor dining experience.“

“I enjoy my morning coffee and breakfast so much. The desserts in the coffee shop are so delicious. In the evening I like the cocktails. I love the fig and prosciutto flatbread, the salads, kung pao calamari, and the chicken. I haven’t tried all of the new chef’s new menu items, but I will.“
