“One of the best spots in the area for Mediterranean food. We stumbled upon this place last year and enjoyed it so much that we came back again this year.

For the price, the quality and portion sizes make it well worth a visit. Unlike most Mediterranean restaurants that serve everything on a standard platter, the food here is beautifully presented on a long wooden board, making it perfect for sharing.

The Family Plate, which is advertised for 3–5 people, is realistically enough for about 3–4 adults, depending on everyone’s appetite. The Trio Platter is a must-order—the hummus, muhammara, and baba ganoush are all excellent. Just be careful not to fill up on the appetizers before the main course arrives.

Their wine selection is also very good. The meats were flavorful, although ours were slightly overcooked this visit. The chicken, however, had a nice crispy exterior and was delicious. The rice has a unique, light flavor that’s really enjoyable, but you may want to order an extra side since the portion that comes with the meal goes quickly. The falafel was ok, the lentil soup was good and light.

Overall, it’s a great place to bring family or friends, or simply enjoy a healthy meal before or after a beach day. It can get busy depending on the time, so expect a bit of a wait during peak hours.

The only downside is that the service can be hit or miss, as they often seem a little short-staffed. Thankfully, the quality of the food more than makes up for it.“

“You guys need to hire security, I feel bad for what your manager had to go through today! Some absolute lunatic went behind the counter to grab food and when your manager tried to stop him from grabbing the orders; he started cursing him out and saying some very derogatory things to him! The poor guy was just trying to do his job. Then this guy is posting a review like he’s the victim is wild!

You guys can read his other reviews and see they’re all negative! I’m sure he pulls these kinds of stunts at other places! I’m just hoping your manager; who by the way, did an amazing job staying calm and never got aggressive, doesn’t get in trouble over his lies!“

“I cannot stress enough how delicious everything was. I got the combo plate and ate until I was full and still had enough left over to take home for lunch the next day! I actually felt sad that my stomach wasn't bigger and I couldn't order more food. We sat outside and the atmosphere was amazing. Cannot recommend the lamb and chicken enough!“

“We were looking for a nice non-American place to have lunch and found Spiro — and we were so pleasantly surprised! The location is absolutely beautiful, almost right by the ocean, with an unforgettable view. The food was delicious, everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and we didn’t have to wait long at all. We really enjoyed the Mediterranean and Greek-style dishes. Great food, beautiful atmosphere, and an amazing view — definitely a place we would come back to!“

“Great ambience. Great service. Great food. Came with a free bday treat. The only gripe is that I asked if they can replace the smoked salmon with chicken because, but they couldn't accommodate. So I ended up paying the smoked salmon price sandwich without the salmon and on top of that a $9 skewer so i can add protein to my sandwich. Wish they could have discounted the price somehow. I know better. But overall experience was great, and would go again.“

“One of my favorite spots in SD. It is a family owned and operated spot filled with great food and charisma. The owners and staff and incredibly friendly, and the food is made with lots of love. My personal favorites are the breakfast burrito with gyro and the gyro burger. Would recommend!“

“They put us in a windowless back room for Valentine's Day. Every couple in there looked super disappointed when they realized we were in a closed room (converted storage closet) next to the bathrooms. Also, I needed a steak knife to eat my chicken. The other items we ordered were drowning in chunks of raw garlic or syrupy sauce. Overall it was poor dining experience.“

“I enjoy my morning coffee and breakfast so much. The desserts in the coffee shop are so delicious. In the evening I like the cocktails. I love the fig and prosciutto flatbread, the salads, kung pao calamari, and the chicken. I haven’t tried all of the new chef’s new menu items, but I will.“
