“Went here for lunch, they serve the full dinner menu which is great. Everything is homemade including the traditional sour yogurt drink, lemonade w mint, Baba ganosh. The lamb was amazing we had the chef’s recipe with cooked yogurt and garbanzo beans, fisherman’s rice and garlic chicken flatbread. We loved the rolled cabbage and stuffed zucchini with lean ground beef. It felt trim, not fatty. My Lebanese friend said this place is like eating in Lebanon. Would highly recommend!“

“I love this place! I came here for the first time a few years ago for brunch, for my husband’s birthday and we loved it. Last night we decided to come back for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and it was the best decision we made! We sat on the patio facing the bay at sunset. It was so relaxing on the patio, not super busy. The service was amazing and the food even better! My husband had the prawns and I had the black risotto. Delicious! They even gave us a complimentary dessert in honor of our anniversary. So sweet! We will definitely be coming back soon!“

“Just tried the falafel sandwich from Falafel California and it did not disappoint! The bread was perfectly grilled and crispy with a nice toasted flavor, wrapped tight and packed with flavor. It came with three different sauces (garlic, spicy red, and a mild white sauce) — each one added something different and paired really well with the sandwich.

Everything was neat and well packaged too. Great quality for the price. Will definitely be ordering again and highly recommend it to anyone in the area.“

“Food was good. However, the cashiers were busy cleaning up for the night vs taking care of customers. It wasn’t late, either. It was around 7:30 or 7:45 on a Sunday. The cleaners they use are very strong. Very pinesol or something like that. Glad I got food to go because I wouldn’t want to have smelled the cleaners during dinner. Dining room had zero vibe.“

“It’s simple, but the food is incredibly flavorful. It’s a hidden gem in a corner, unless you’re in the SDSU area. It brings back some nostalgic feelings. The freshly cooked shawarma and the owner’s collection of memories and stories really enhance your experience.“

“We were wandering around the Gaslamp looking for a new restaurant to try. We luckily went into Mimosa. What a lovely dinning experience. We had the dinner for two. This gave us the chance to try most of their specialties .It was really impressive that each entree had its own unique flavor. The service was excellent and very friendly. The restaurant filled up quickly and so I guess we'll get a reservation next time.“

“This was our first time trying Somali food, and it definitely won’t be our last! We asked the staff what they recommended, and every suggestion was excellent.

The whole fried fish was perfectly crispy with amazing flavor, the halal buffalo fries were spicy and delicious, and the sambusas were some of the best we’ve had. We also tried a drink we’d never had before that tasted like a mix between Dr Pepper and grape soda, and it was surprisingly refreshing!

The service was friendly and welcoming, and they made our first experience with Somali cuisine a great one. My husband enjoyed it so much that he already said he’ll be stopping by for lunch whenever he’s working in San Diego.

“We have ordered Kebabs before here, we recently ordered a meal kit that was all rice and hardly any meat, I mean it was a joke, its a $30 meal. I messaged them because we have ordered several times before and thought maybe they would try to make it right but they never replied. This was 2 weeks ago. We will never buy food here again! The servings are very small and there are tons of other places to eat or order take out around here if they want to be jerks about it! The food is average really, we order out frequently so as not to have to cook and live in the area. We got about $1 worth of rice and lettuce for a $30 meal plate, what a joke!“

“First time here and not disappointed. Didn't have a long wait like others said. The doma was excellent. I got the combo to try their meats - beef kabob, chicken Tikka, and beef shawarma. All were seasoned well, especially the shawarma...very bold. But it's the cook on the meat that set them apart! All 3 were tender, juicy, and savory. Too many overcook these but they just melted in my mouth. Highly recommended.“

Even though there is no seating, the service was impeccable. We were greeted by a nice person who served us our food, and it is clear they cooked this with care. “The halal hidden gem of Downtown San Diego serving up some of the most flavorful shawarma. This is hands down the best Shawarma spot in San Diego. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich and the chicken tawook sandwich and honestly, their seasonings are on point and the chicken is cooked to perfection.
