“We were walking around La Jolla when my kids spotted Spiro’s Mediterranean Cuisine and wanted to try it out, and I’m really glad we did! First of all, everyone here was extremely friendly and welcoming. The food was also really good — very flavorful and very fresh.

I tried the Steak Tacos, my daughter got the Fish and Chips, and my son got the Chicken Tenders and Fries. Everything came out delicious, and the portions were great too. It ended up being one of the highlights of our day in La Jolla. We’ll definitely be back!“

“I am surprised that this place doesn't have more reviews. My wife got the chicken plate and I got the gyro plate and both of them were great. My daughter and I went to pick up the food and while we waited, we split a baklava and that was also top-notch. The two staff members that we spoke to were very nice. “Happened to be leaving a game and I turned around and seen this place perfectly located next to Petco Park. When I went inside I was greeted warmly and I asked what the difference was between the regular gyro and the pork belly one. The guy said if I ordered the pork belly the way he makes extra crispy I would love it. Ever since I’ve been back about 3 more times plus I found them near my work in Mira Mesa so that’s four…I’m hooked 🥙“

“Food was good. However, the cashiers were busy cleaning up for the night vs taking care of customers. It wasn’t late, either. It was around 7:30 or 7:45 on a Sunday. The cleaners they use are very strong. Very pinesol or something like that. Glad I got food to go because I wouldn’t want to have smelled the cleaners during dinner. Dining room had zero vibe.“

We stopped by Nick the Greek for the first time while we were in the area with our two little girls, and Mari Lou made our entire experience exceptional!

From the moment we walked in, she was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. She took the time to recommend several menu items, and every single recommendation was absolutely delicious. You can tell she knows the menu well and truly wants customers to have a great experience.

What stood out to me most as a mom was how she engaged with our daughters just as much as she engaged with my husband and me. She made them feel seen, welcomed, and included, and that meant so much to us. It’s those little moments that turn a quick meal into a memorable experience.

Nick the Greek definitely made the right choice in hiring Mari Lou. She represents the restaurant so well, and we’ll absolutely be back because of the outstanding customer service she provided. Thank you, Mari Lou!“

“So, I am updating my review. I still love Spiros, both locations,but this particular location has amazing views. However, the service here is not great, mostly 1 person, but they are always there, always taking the orders, which makes him hard to avoid. I believe his name is Steve. I literally dread placing my order when he's there. He is a very stressful person and therefore makes the ordering experience stressful. I go anyway with my family, this place isn't cheap for a casual place but the food is great. Well, recently I had an interaction with this guy that really upset me and my fam, he was very rude in front of customers and tried to make us feel bad. It was busier than normal because it was holiday time and events were happening. I will be contacting management personally but just beware of this guy when you go. Seriously disappointed.“
