“Still a hidden gem in Hillcrest. I don't think that they've increased their prices in the last ten years. Where else can you get a Mediterranean two item lunch combo with either fries or rice, a salad and a drink for $11? The baklava is excellent as well.“

“Best fresh Greek food ever. I took the food to go. I got the Chicken Kabobs with rice and greek salad. So delicious. Fresh. Good white breast chicken. Kalamsta olives and feta. Fresh romaine. I rarely rate a restaurant, especially as a traveller, but I loved this meal. The server was excellent as well, unfortunately I didn't get his name.“

“Mike is awesome, this is a fantastic place. With all the history on the walls it tells the story of the family loved business. The gyro was the best I have had for years. The baklava is dangerously delicious, my son is now hooked. Keep up the great work.“

“Thanks for feeding a weary traveller on the way back to the hotel, even though it was closing time. The gyros plate, grilled veggies, and salad were the best I've had in a long time, and you were all delightful for the few minutes we spent talking while waiting to get my order.“

“ZGARA is a sweet, locally owned Greek restaurant that I have been coming here for a while now. They have very affordable and delicious food that won't break the bank. If you like a great place with dope staff and good people, this is the place to be. They also have lunch specials which is a definite plus. 10/10“

“Happened to be leaving a game and I turned around and seen this place perfectly located next to Petco Park. When I went inside I was greeted warmly and I asked what the difference was between the regular gyro and the pork belly one. The guy said if I ordered the pork belly the way he makes extra crispy I would love it. Ever since I’ve been back about 3 more times plus I found them near my work in Mira Mesa so that’s four…I’m hooked 🥙“

“Food was good. However, the cashiers were busy cleaning up for the night vs taking care of customers. It wasn’t late, either. It was around 7:30 or 7:45 on a Sunday. The cleaners they use are very strong. Very pinesol or something like that. Glad I got food to go because I wouldn’t want to have smelled the cleaners during dinner. Dining room had zero vibe.“

“What a great experience. I love Luna gril and this location is the best. Thank you to Mike and his team for the wonderful service and the food quick and ready. I don’t like showing up close to closing but I was desperate for some food and asked if it was too late to order and my order was still taken and I was treated very well. Much appreciation!!“

“Have always enjoyed a short walk to Elsa Kitchen to pick up their very delicious Burger and Fries and Soda Pop combination. Since I moved to this neighborhood just over 4 Years ago (March 2019) have enjoyed bringing my best buddy "Rocker Spaniel" here on our walks. He Loved the Greek Scenery:) and claro que si the food two. Let us not forget the BLACK and White illuminati Checkerboard tiles. Rocker left us at Age 12 Dog Years on February 18th but putting his photo on my Smart Phone screen saver refreshed my Love ❤️ for this place. Going to come back tomorrow for A Greek Gyros lunch 5/3 and hopefully Esperanza dovetail with a return Cinco de Mayo Run for The Roses 🌹🐴🐎 Thanks and FB We recommend a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Return to Elsas 'Soul' Kitchen. We stopped by Nick the Greek for the first time while we were in the area with our two little girls, and Mari Lou made our entire experience exceptional!
From the moment we walked in, she was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. She took the time to recommend several menu items, and every single recommendation was absolutely delicious. You can tell she knows the menu well and truly wants customers to have a great experience.
What stood out to me most as a mom was how she engaged with our daughters just as much as she engaged with my husband and me. She made them feel seen, welcomed, and included, and that meant so much to us. It’s those little moments that turn a quick meal into a memorable experience.
Nick the Greek definitely made the right choice in hiring Mari Lou. She represents the restaurant so well, and we’ll absolutely be back because of the outstanding customer service she provided. Thank you, Mari Lou!“
