“i stop by to get a snack here relatively often. fairly quick service + nice selection! even though they mainly do drinks, i actually typically get their food. one of the only spots on campus open later at night so it can be a LIFESAVER 😭😭 please keep it that way !! ton of students r awake and need something to eat at these times, i can’t believe other places on campus close so early“

“There were two extremely patient and kind girls working the counter today and they made this place worth talking about. We are from Orlando, FL and we have been itching to find a good Boba spot for the last 4 days. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I already won the lottery. Their churro donut is phenomenal and light, but what really impressed me was when we went off menu and I asked for a taro coconut item. One of the girls said that she likes those two best when they are mixed together in a smoothie and...she did not disappoint. The taro coconut smoothie is better than anything I have tried in Orlando. In addition, I decided to try something new and asked for the pink coconut milk tea (essentially it was strawberry and coconut). Once again, I LOVED the drink. I hope I do come back to San Diego soon and bring family along with me because I loved the atmosphere, employees/customer service, and menu items.

“The boba here is bomb!! It’s reasonably priced for the size you get and they offer different sweetness levels which is so nice! I’ve tried the roasted oolong and strawberry milk tea with boba and definitely recommend when in the area. The staff are also very friendly snd always do a good job with the drinks.“

“reminds me of Taiwan, specifically a typical cafe in Gaoxiong, which is the most comparable place to SD in the US. It's spacious, comfortable (cushion for butts without cushion), family-friendly, pet-friendly, games for kids, a piano: it's basically a day-care center. The decoration is very DIY and neat, which is what really gave me Taiwan vibes. Yellow lights (I don't know why other shops use bright white office lights..) They know how to decorate on a budget. Clean bathroom. Clearly a family business. The owners are from Guangdong, but theyre quite different from the city people. Maybe San Diego slowed them down.. If this is the vibe of SD, I'm def lovin' it!

drinks are pricey, $6+ with boba. Boba isn't free. Standard milk tea is solid, but even at 30% sweetness, it's quite sweet. Egg puff for $5 is cute.

I don’t get boba very often as I’ve found that sometimes it’s not worth the hype, but it was on the better side.I found the staff to be helpful, the establishment was clean, and they had tables outside to enjoy the summer. “It was my first time trying this place and I’m so glad I did. I got a Nutella cream coffee with boba and it was the best coffee boba I’ve tried so far. “Recommened the dolce Bianca as the strawberry matcha wasn't available yet. Very tasty and not overly sugary. Sometimes white mochas can be too sweet but this was a good balance of sweet and still taste smooth coffee. The GF paradise bar was excellent though. I think that was the highlight.“

“Stopped in for a quick grapefruit tea. They had a grapefruit slush so ordered that to try. I don't like my fruit teas too sweet and this was perfect. Fresh grapefruit too because there was a hint of bitterness.

Even with 0% sugar, the brown sugar milk tea tends to be sweet. On first glance the prices are on the higher end, but the size of the drink is quite big and shareable. Wushiland is a decent alternative if you don’t want to wait for HeyTea.“

“I've been a fan of Wong Fu for years and since we were visiting SD, I was excited to visit Bopomofo!

I tried their Spring menu and got the High Mountain Paradise drink with tapioca. It featured fresh mango and peach. I really enjoyed how refreshing the drink was and how it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet (I opted for 0% sweetness level, so the fruit was the only source of sweetness).

The staff was friendly. Lots of people were studying, but we found a spot on the counter and even had enough space for my baby in his stroller.

“The spring rolls here are fire. I love that they’re large, fresh, and full of flavor. It’s like eating a salad but in a burrito form. The lettuce was crunchy and my pork was delicious. I especially appreciated that they were done in about 5 minutes. Overall a tasty treat that was only $9.

“I had an amazing experience at It’s Boba Time! The drinks were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—not overly sweet. The classic milk tea with boba was creamy, and the matcha smoothie was rich, smooth, and refreshing.

The popcorn chicken was hot, crispy, and seasoned just right. Paired with their dipping sauce, it was absolutely delicious! The macarons were also a nice sweet treat to finish everything off.“
