“Best pho I’ve had in San Diego! 🍜 The broth is SO flavorful, the portions are generous, and everything was delicious. The service is quiet but super quick, which I appreciate. The location is also really convenient for me since I work on La Jolla Drive. This place is a little hidden!“

The pho was comforting, the portions were generous, and the overall experience was really enjoyable. Special thanks to Olivia and Leyna for their excellent service — they were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely come back again!“

“The beef noodle soup was super delicious and was enough to feed me and my mother. It contained tone of meat which was really tender and the broth was overall phenomenal. The popcorn chicken was also really good as it wasn’t too big and served as a great snack I would highly recommend coming here.“

“The shrimp fried rice and green beans had good quality and quantity.
The ox throat appetizer was mid. Tasted lots of cumin but seemed to need some salt.
The cumin beef noodles was tasty, but I felt like it could've used more beef.
I would come back tho if craving authentic, quick and no frills Chinese food and flavors.“

“For noodle purists and seekers of authentic regional comfort, finding a bowl that truly transports you can be a lifelong pursuit. Having traversed the bustling noodle alleys of Shanghai and sampled celebrated destinations like Magic Noodle in Las Vegas, my standards for handmade noodles are exacting. Yet, nestled right here in the heart of San Diego, Noodle and Bun has effortlessly claimed a spot among the very best in the country.
The Star of the Menu: Spicy Beef Brisket Noodle
The crown jewel of the meal was undoubtedly the Spicy Beef Brisket Noodle paired with house-made knife-cut noodles. The texture of the noodles is a testament to true artisanal craftsmanship—chewy, robust, and possessing that ideal rustic variance that only skilled hand-cutting can achieve.
What truly elevates the dish, however, is the masterclass in spice balance. Too often, stateside Sichuan-inspired noodle houses lean too heavily on Sichuan peppercorns, rendering your palate completely numb after just a few bites. Here, the kitchen demonstrates remarkable restraint and precision: the peppercorn profile is aromatic and vibrant, enhancing the rich, tender beef brisket without overwhelming the senses. It is a masterclass in flavor equilibrium.
A Minor Misstep: The Xiao Bao
No dining experience is entirely without flaw. The Xiao Bao arrived slightly overcooked—likely a casualty of a bustling, high-volume evening service. However, even with the structural compromise from a bit too much time in the heat, the quality of the ingredients could not be masked. The filling tasted undeniably fresh, and each bite remained impressively juicy, hinting at a very capable kitchen even when running under pressure.
Service and Practicalities
* Service: Attentive, welcoming, and efficient. The front-of-house team manages the rush with grace, keeping the energy upbeat.
* Parking: As expected for the vibrant Fourth Avenue corridor in downtown San Diego, parking is a formidable challenge. Be prepared to circle for street parking or utilize nearby paid garages.
The Verdict
Noodle and Bun delivers where it matters most: extraordinary, authentic noodle-making that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with international heavyweights. Minor kitchen hiccups aside, this is an essential destination for anyone who appreciates the soul of hand-crafted pasta.“

“Top Asian food spots for me in San Diego. Prices are cheap and the dishes are so yummy. Get ready to drink lots of water because their spicy dishes can be fire. I love them! I've gotten a few of their dishes to try and you can't go wrong with any of them! Very attentive staff too!“

“The ramen is delicious, but if you're thinking of adding on broccolini skip it. They charge $1 for literally the smallest piece I've ever seen and when I called to voice my concern about feeling ripped off, they didn't care. I feel like if you're paying $20 for a bowl of ramen you should get what you pay for“

“We've eaten here about once a month for about five months. The food is excellent. Everything we've had has been excellent and so fresh. There is a lot of positive energy in the restaurant and every member of the waitstaff has been very efficient. I especially recommend the waitress T.K. She is very personable, while also being very efficient. She knows the food thoroughly and can give very good recommendations. Supannee is now our go to Thai restaurant. We've taken several people with us and they have all been very impressed. Go, eat, enjoy.“

Dragon Roll 4/5
Tasty and enjoyable, but nothing particularly surprising.
Dynamite Roll 4.5/5
The biggest surprise of the meal. Really flavorful, with a great combination of textures. Definitely one of my favorites.“

“Just keep in mind I came here on a Monday at 6 PM so we didn't have to wait for a table or battle for parking. This parking lot was not turned into a paid lot try. It's where Chorus and Hive are. It's still fairly new so the menu is slightly limited. We saw photos of dishes on the wall but were told they were not available until next year. The jjajangmyeon was slightly watery. I got the "meat" one so there were strips of grilled pork. My husband got the "spicy" one which was green chili on top. It was not crazy spicy according to him but it was not that painful spicy. We got the chili shrimp and I really liked that. It was crispy, fried jumbo shrimp over with sweet chili sauce on a bed of cabbage. It had enough heat making your lips feel some heat. I liked it even though it's not a fancy dish. If I don't have to come on a busy weekend night I'm down to come back.
Oh just be ready to order on really slow tablets but your order gets through as long you're patient with the tablets. The tables are far enough where you feel like you're not on top of each other like at other restaurants in Convoy.“

“Love, Love, Love LOVE this place! It's hard to find bad Thai food. But it's even harder to find truly exceptional Thai food. This place somehow takes the cuisine and makes it their own in a delicious way that isn't too pricey. I don't know what they put in their food - perhaps it's legal, but maybe not. Either way, I cannot stop eating it.“

“I owe Shin, our waiter for tonight, a life debt for the best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant in my life. He single handedly grew our crops, raised our children, did our homework, made us laugh, and got us our food in record time still steaming. He wins a gold record in serving and if he has a boss who is reading this, he deserves a raise and also maybe a smooch on the cheek. The food was stunning and the prices were great, amazing, will come here again (mostly for Shin)“

“Truly a hidden gem! Good prices for what you get and the food tastes fantastic!
I love coming here and sitting down to eat. There’s so many cool things they decorated their place with! Since it’s in an office area you might have some issues with parking when it’s busy but they do offer pick up so you can avoid that when needed.“

“The food was amazing. We had Drunken Noodle, Pad See-Ew, and Cashew Chicken and were very happy with all of them. The service was a little slow but we didn’t care because we weren’t in a rush. The staff was friendly and was able to get us what we needed. The restaurant is clean and the seats are comfortable. I would highly recommend getting there a little before noon to avoid the lunch crowd rush.“

“I love this Chin’s Restaurant is a beautifully situated establishment with a cordial and happy staff. The menu offers a comprehensive selection of Chinese cuisine, making it a neighborhood staple for many frequent patrons. Regarding a recent incident where a customer claimed to have found celery in their dish, I know for a fact that the restaurant does not serve celery; perhaps the patron mistook bok choy for celery.“

“Probably the most affordable stall in the food court, for the amount of fried rice you get it's congruent to the price point, unlike other places that are pretty pricey but smaller portions than expected. The thai milk tea is pretty frickin pricey.
Crab rangoon roll is exactly what it is, I was impressed with how it stayed crispy throughout its length. Its pretty monoflavored though, so the sweet and sour sauce helped me finish it. Recommend splitting it with two people.
Fried rice was surprisingly delicious and ridiculously huge. It was like the second cheapest option on the menu and I'm pretty sure there was curry powder. You can adjust the spice level and I liked that it came with fresh cucumber garnish.
If I ever find myself back in Liberty Station and im starving, this would be my go to, that rice lasted me the whole day.“

“Just be aware that an automatic gratuity is added for groups of six or more. Great to see Japanese chefs and Japanese speaking staff at the izakaya. They offer authentic Japanese dishes that you don't often see at other places. The poke bowl and tuna bowl were really good. I love the teishoku style meals with miso soup, pickled veggies, and all the little side dishes. Miso soup was really good! Lots of variety on the menu! The staff were very friendly too.“

“Was in the San Diego area craving some drunken noodles (Pad Kee Mao or Mow) and asked Google to help me find one close.
The ordering process went smoothly as I looked at the website and called in my order.
Picking up was ok. It is a little house that has been converted into this restaurant and I walked right past it. When you go, look for the little yellow house that is set back a little bit from the street.
As I was paying for my meal, I asked if there were any Yelp discounts. He said no discounts and it is a 3% fee to use your credit card.
The Panang Curry was amazing. Lots of flavor. Perfectly cooked rice and they go together so well. Great consistency, plenty of carrots with come chicken (that was my chosen protein) and other veggies. I was surprised that when I opened the curry, it was still piping hot. And they wrapped the container in plastic wrap in addition to the cover being on it. Love when restaurants do that as it decreases the chance of spills.
The drunken noodles was what I was craving to begin with and I found out lacking. Not much flavor and to be honest, I was hoping to have had some Thai Basil in it. To be fair, it didn't mention that on their menu. It just adds so much flavor and without it, it is too bland for me. I'm also accustomed to much more saucy noodles and these are very dry. When I have leftovers, I will add some Huy Fong Sambal Oelek Chili Paste.
Over all, I would go again. However, I'll stick with the curry next time.“
