I live in Encinitas but come to Solana EVERY TIME for pure bowl!“

“We love coming here. We always make reservations to ensure seating because this is a popular place. Yesterday was busier than normal. There was a large group there and our table was squished next to the bar and in the sun. Was a little noisy and crowded but food and service is always great. This is the first time we experienced the noise and crowd, but yesterday was a gorgeous day. This may not be the best place to host large groups because space is limited here.“

Both appetizers we had, the crab and shrimp stuffed mushrooms and slow roasted meatballs, were fabulous with big flavor. Portions were nicely sized and we felt we got great value for our money. Beautiful restaurant with a modern twist on old-time dark wood steakhouse decor. Great, lively bar with great wine selection as well. The Caymus Wine Flight was delicious and great value. Highly recommend this restaurant!“

There are too many new fast-food burger places opening around here and we need an alternative (if you want a burger Habit Burger or Shake Shack are great). “The food is as good as it looks! I couldn’t believe it when my parents asked me if I wanted to go to a Revolutionary War tavern replica & museum near the beach in northern San Diego. Like, huh? But the building reminded me of growing up on the east coast, and the museum reminded me of how lucky we are to have this country & those who fought for it. I loved the cozy interior with brick and wood. My parents are regulars, so they know the server, and he was super nice. They have a great Old Fashioned, and we all got the Seafood Trio (mine with double cod). The fingerling potatoes were to die for. It was all delicious. Amazing Caesar salad, too. Definitely had leftovers. Excited to go back for their happy hour. Can’t wait to try wagyu sliders, mussels, and clam chowder. Seriously, it all sounds good. Definitely worth a trip! And you’ll be back to try it all 😁“

“Amazing food!!! We got a few things on the menu today. We got the firebird , cali dip , kids meal chicken nuggets . Let’s start with the firebird .. amazing sweet and spicy taste with big nice pickles to maintain the heat overall recommend this sandwich . The Cali Dip was delicious sweet and so much flavor I’d have to say one of the best “Tortas” I ever ate . The fries are the best !!! Sauces are so yummy. Everything was about $47 but SO WORTH IT!“

“We came up to Del Mar for the day, as newbies, and found the Monarch from reviews. We accidentally entered on the rooftop patio area, where you can order food and drinks at the bar (rather than doing table service inside), and we're so glad we did! We shared a turkey club (delish) and got two very tasty (and strong) drinks for some pre-shopping energy. Highly recommend the Mai Tai🌸. You can't beat the view!“

“My wife and I were recently craving some local beer and burgers, so we decided to stop by Karl Strauss Brewing Company. I was honestly surprised by how good everything was. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and the beer selection was excellent, which exactly what we were looking for.
The atmosphere was awesome too. I really liked the design of the brewery and the overall vibe of the place. It’s the kind of spot where you can just relax, enjoy a couple of local beers, and have a great meal without overthinking it. We had a really good time and will definitely be coming back.“

“We waited 45 minutes past our reservation time. I understand that it was Valentine's Day and it's a small restaurant, but at that point time limits or asking those just hanging out to leave may be required especially since we had reserved over a month before. Staff was visibly strained too and spent more time and care only with guest that were familiar with staff. I feel like organization and cronysm/favoritism are legitimate concerns. Happy hour is also exactly an hour, 4-5.

Despite this, the food and drinks were beyond excellent. Notably better than many of the 100+ great restaurants we've tried in San Diego. Prices were slightly higher than similar restaurants, notably many cocktails approached $25. Ambiance was nice, decore as well.“

“A truly hidden café tucked between office buildings, it’s a bit tricky to find on Google Maps, and locating the parking lot can be confusing. I ended up parking on the street and walking in.

Once inside, I was surprised by how spacious it is, with plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. They even offer discounts for employees working in the surrounding offices, which is a nice touch. The staff were very friendly, and they have free Wi-Fi, making it a great spot to work or study.

I ordered a latte, which was excellent, along with the classic avocado toast, easily one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend this place, and I’m definitely looking forward to coming back!“
