“I’m really grateful to Carruth Cellars for accommodating us on such short notice. We had planned my sister’s wedding shower as a beach potluck, but when it started raining, we had to quickly find an alternative—and they were kind enough to let us come in and bring our own food and drinks, which truly saved the day.

That said, it was definitely a lively environment. The space was quite busy and loud, which made it a little challenging for a more intimate gathering. There were also a lot of children running around, which felt a bit unexpected for a winery setting.

Overall, we really appreciated their flexibility and hospitality during a stressful situation, even if the atmosphere wasn’t exactly what we had envisioned for the event.“

“So many things I enjoyed about my first experience at this place. The only thing I wished was different is how loud it was inside. The bacon pork belly dish was the best I've ever had it was amazing. The sauce with it and how you could cut it with a fork was so surprising. I had the filet mignon with their homemade steak sauce. I only used a little bit of it because their steak was so good on its own. I did the pickled onion rings just cuz I have never had that before. I ended up being very big onion rings in the flavor was indeed different because of the pickling. I thought it a was fun change on the ordinary. The servers were genuinely nice and very helpful with my questions on the menu and what would go well together.“

“Such a nice, big space in a great location. The bartender was super sweet to my boys and gave them a doggy biscuit and they have multiple water bowls. It is dog friendly inside and out, but with a pretty day we sat outside. 9 more dogs ended up coming while we sipped our drink, all were happy and welcomed. Nice, crisp beer“

“Marco and I had such a great experience at Colosseo Cucina Italiana! We ordered the Pizza Calabria and the calzone, and both were absolutely amazing. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and truly traditional Italian. The flavors were delicious, and you could really tell there was care put into the food. Definitely a great spot if you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine. We’ll absolutely be coming back.“

“Lofty in Solana Beach completely blew me away. The staff goes above and beyond to make the experience great, which is so refreshing. I tried the iced Salted Caramel Latte, and it actually tastes like real caramel—not overly sweet or artificial like most places. As for the food: the Sausage, Egg, and Cheddar Croissant is a must-order, and getting a warm chocolate chip cookie topped with sea salt was the ultimate treat. Can't recommend this spot enough!“

“We LOVE this bar! Everyone we know has a life-changing story that took place in this iconic bar. The staff is so friendly, the guests are charming and the drinks are cheap. Can you ask for anything more? Oh yeah! It’s literally a block from the beach.“

“Our barista was so nice and made our coffee so good, perfect temperature and flavor. Love the vibe, always a great place to get great coffee. My husband got the cedros scramble and he loved it! I would recommend it also if you want to use your computer to work or study.“

To top it all off the service was fantastic. We dropped a fork and it was replaced in seconds before we could ask. All the staff we encountered were friendly.“

“If you are in the fashion district of Solana Beach or going to a concert at the Belly Up and are looking for great little Sushi place, go to Kai Ola Sushi! My wife and I were looking for a place to get some food prior to a concert at the Belly Up and came upon this great little restaurant. The vibe and atmosphere is very cool, the Sushi was delicious, and the service was great! The Sushi chef was very personable and friendly and even educated us on some of the Sushi rolls he was preparing, while we sat and ate at the Sushi bar.“

“One of those places where you don’t want to believe the poor reviews but by the time you leave they make sense. Definitely slow service regardless of how busy it is. Solid menu but even for the location it’s pricey. Bloody Mary is almost a scam for what you get. Portions on the smaller side, forgot to take a photo or two. The vibes are good and it feels rustic but will not return.“

“It's kind of cool to eat at a sushi bar with mostly outdoor seating and sports on the TVs, though there are a few seats inside at the sushi bar itself.

Overall, it was a decent experience. The food was average and the portions were large. The service was great. For parking, there's street parking as well as a small dedicated lot behind the building.“

“$10 for a sandwich in this economy is an absolute steal. I got the fig, bacon, and brie panini, which was a perfect combination after a hike. There was a slight taste of ginger, which I was confused about. I wish it was a little bit warmer, but it would’ve been cold if I had taken it to the beach anyway (which was my original plan). There are some really cute picnic benches outside and free water inside.“

Ordered a large sausage and pepperoni pizza, again, too much for four people. I was very impressed with the amount of cheese and toppings that were on it! Will be back when I'm back in town.“
