“This is our second visit to Rare Society and just like the last time, food, ambience and customer service were top notch. We started out with the Parker House Rolls (yummy) and for the entrée, I ordered the filet mignon with a side of onion rings and a Coronado Brewing Company IPA, while Shelly had the tri tip with onion rings. Both very good choices.“
“Pillbox had good reviews and it didn’t disappoint. Solid slightly above pub grub style food, good beer selection and friendly staff. Can’t go wrong. Really liked the overall feel of this place, and would be a regular if I lived in the area.“
“Crust is one of our favorite places to eat in Solana Beach! Our family eats here at least once a week! There's so many options, pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, they have a really great lunch menu! The service is always great! I love that this family, friendly restaurant is so good to the community! They have separate rooms, so you can have a bar atmosphere, or sit on the outdoor patio. They even have a private room you can rent out for events. We love this place!“
“This is such a very nice friendly place the atmosphere is very fun here it's a big San Francisco 49ers bar which I am glad to visit. The bartenders are very nice cool and provide very professional bar service and seem to always have a smile. But what I really like is the San Francisco 49er fan who pack the place. Fun to talk to like minded die hard fans like myself I highly recommend going here during 49er games“
“Absolutely great experience after a ten year hiatus - we felt very welcomed by our Chef- I and my two friends both left satisfied. Whether it's nigiri or rolls, they've got you covered here. Park in the rear if it's too hectic up front on the 101. And a great place to "walk off" your meal as it's a single block from Fletcher Cove.“
“The food at Nine-Ten is amazing. We had their sashimi to start and it was full of flavor and a lovely touch of acidity. We had the duck as an entree, which came with a pretty decent amount of meat, and asparagus and mushrooms on the side. I'm definitely not doing it justice in the description but it was delicious and filling. Not my favorite duck I've ever had but still tasted great. My favorite part was their half baked chocolate cake. It was the perfect cherry on top of a great meal.“
“We had the most exceptional experience and I will certainly be back. Giovanni took care of us as if we were part of his family, with generosity and such warmth. His knowledge is impressive!Let alone his passion for food, wine and spirits.Food was excellent, coffee as well.A little hidden gem!“
“The view here is awesome, and the food was unmatched. The bread & spread were awesome. I've never had homemade naan as good as theirs. The clam chowder was good and the chips, salsa and guac were really great. Hands down a must eat if you are visiting this area.Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian and vegan options. Both items I ordered were vegetarian.“
“Had a wonderful time here. We were in SD for 5 days and came here twice for dinner because it was so good. All the food was fantastic, great craft beer, and amazing service. Coming from NYC, a lot of the restaurants in the area has very subpar service, but the servers at Sandpiper went above and beyond! Our first night, our server I believe his name was Jake, absolutely made our night. Thank you!“
“Everything on the Menu is delicious. All of their Margarita's are amazing. The General Manager Gilbert Gastelum was very personable and even took a selfie with us. Our waiter Jos exceeded in Customer's Service and was very attentive. **Update** Friday, 04/27/2024. We came with a friend for Happy Hour and we had a great time. Eloy and Shannon, both waiters, were super friendly and made us feel very welcomed. They made our time here very pleasant. Thank you. We will be back soon.“
“We booked the Cove House for our Wedding Welcome Dinner. It was a hit. It was conveniently located in the middle of all of the action for our wedding (we got married next door), so all of our guests just walked here. The food and drinks were delicious (taco bar + apps+cookies) and the staff were so wonderful to work with. We worked with Juliet on the planning and had a dedicated team night of. All of our guests loved it and thought it was such a lovely space right on the Cove. I'd highly recommend the Cove House for any private event or just to grab a bite to eat! Many of our guests returned throughout the weekend for breakfast and lunch.“
“Came here for lunch with my family and the service, food, and views were spectacular. I loved my eggplant parmigiana and my niece loved her pizza. I know their pizza is famous! I highly recommend coming here.Vegetarian options: The eggplant parmigiana and the margarita pizza were spectacular vegetarians options. My dad loved his mushroom risotto (I can’t remember the exact name.) Everything there is honestly delicious“
“So happy to have rediscovered this restaurant. Close to home and the food and service are outstanding! The dining room could really use a makeover which takes away from the overall experience. Caught in a time warp. But we can't say enough about the food and service here. Fabulous!!!“
“Found restaurant by accident because the service at Barbarella was terrible and Piatti was right across the street. We met some friends from Vegas and wanted them to have a great experience. This was definitely the place. The food was excellent and even the manager jumped in as a server. A++. We'll be back!“
“Went there last Thursday with my fiancé. Our first visit since it became Goli. Very few people there that night which made the service very personal. Great staff and the food was excellent. The only item on the menu we didn't care for was the Brussel sprouts appetizer. We mentioned that to our waiter and he agreed that they needed to get it better. One of the owners came by the table to discuss our likes and dislikes with us and comped us with two glasses of wine. Overall very pleased with the experience. We will be back.“
“Polo Steakhouse continues to impress with its attention to detail and culinary excellence. The addition of New York steak to the menu further enhances the dining experience, offering another delectable option for steak enthusiasts. Cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor, the New York steak is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. Before diving into the main course, indulge in their bread appetizer, a delightful assortment of freshly baked bread paired with artisanal spreads. It's the perfect way to whet your appetite and set the stage for the feast to come.As for the cocktails, they are nothing short of extraordinary. “Nice casual place. Order at the front and they bring your food on your table. I had their carnitas with meal. Delicious. Very busy during weekends. Lots of takeout waiting. Take advantage of their daily happy hour. Great staff. Super friendly. Good selections of desserts.Cheers“
“I got the Hand Rolls (comes with 5 rolls... Shrimp, Spicy Tuna, Salmon, Scallops and Yellowtail) and each one was better than the last... super fresh... zero fishy smell... the Scallops was surprisingly my favorite. I've had bad scallops before and wasn't sure what to expect. But its absolutely delicious. They have 5 different sauces to add for dipping, just get them all they are excellent. Service was quick and friendly, I'll be back 100%“
“Both the Turkey Club and the Salmon Burger were amazing. The fries however were overcooked. Great portion size and great cut for the fries, just sat a bit too long in oil. The atmosphere and service is great. Prices are adequate for the area.“
“Fun brewery in Miramar, on Production Ave just to the north of Miramar Road. Large warehouse type building with large beer vats, barrels, tables, and an outdoor "garden" patio. They have a great variety of beers/lagers/ales/cider and sodas. They don't serve food but they have a revolving set of food trucks so there is usually good food to go with the beer. Friendly staff and fun place to hang out with friends. Parking does get tight when they have events, but most of the nearby businesses are deserted to you can still find parking. Lots of noise from Miramar airbase with F-18c/d frequently taking off and landing. No issue with the USMC, but it does make it hard to have conversations or hold a more formal event.“

“This marina bar, was a pleasant surprise. Atmosphere was relaxing. It took them a bit to seat us, since we were a big group. We had 2 separate tables, which was fine. Our server forgot to take our order, and it took him 30 minutes to realize this. By the time we were served our food, the first table was finished eating. I would not go back there again, if I was in a large group setting. This place is more for smaller groups. The food made up for the inconvenient service. They use fresh ingredients, cooked and seasoned to perfection. I will return.“
“Happy hour delight! Great prices and delicious food! A friend and I met here on a Wednesday afternoon for happy hour. I had never been to Zel's but was looking forward to trying something new. We sat on the bar side of the restaurant. The place was cute, quaint, updated and very clean. The bartender/ our server Alison was so kind and treated us like we were regulars. We ordered a few things to share and every single thing was so good. I wouldn't get the salad again - it wasn't anything special but everything else I'd revisit. I would definitely recommend this spot!“
“This place has totally transformed and they serve really great food (the food has always been amazing but the ambiance is event better now)! We’ve had salads, corn, wings, burgers and sandwiches! We’ve brought our kids during the day, and it’s totally kid friendly. The owner, Pete, has been wonderful to us…we’ll keep on going for sure!“
“Without a doubt. Burgeon Brewery production of the best beers anywhere. The large list of Burgeon IPAs is second to none. Then there's the Pales ales. Incredible. Pilsner popularity are on the rise and leading the pack again is Burgeon. To be fair there is a plethora of amazing brewery's in SD . Particularly north county coast. But the comparison of any to Burgeon isn't even close. If your thinking of visiting a few breweries while in SDs north county coast I would highly recommend you try them 1st. If you start at Burgeon the others won't be as impressive. 2 other very important aspects of this brewery are the people who work here. Very knowledgeable and strive to take care of anyone who walks in the door. See it every time we go. And the food trucks. If Burgeon has them , expect some of the best in town serving you.“
“I visited last night and they had great live music. Our reservation was for 530 pm and the place was pretty empty, but by the time I left at 830 PM, it was completely full. I ordered the fried chicken which was great. It came with a biscuit which was even better. I also enjoyed the crap cake. The cookie Sunday dessert was great! The service was great. They had valet parking as well. Overall it's a beautiful place with great ambiance.“
“Whenever we are in Carlsbad, we take a short drive here. My husband and boys love fish, so this is a must when we are near. Tonight, we had the chowder, fish platter (comes with two sides), fish sandwiches (keep the lemon aioli), and the fish & chip. Oh, make sure you try their cole slaw, best I've ever had. All very fresh and full of flavor. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the employees are friendly.“
“I was taking a La Jolla resident to lunch for her birthday. It was a beautiful day and I had told my guest about the terrace with magnificent views and full roofing , heating and fans as needed. When we went to the desk we were told that the terrace was not available, only the indoor seating. That was my big disappointment. My guest ordered the Mahi-mahi sandwich. The fish was so thick on the bun with tomato and lettuce that when my guest cut it in half it simply totally slid across the plate. She ate her sandwich with a knife and fork. The mahi-mahi was perfectly prepared. I ordered the Cobb salad. Rather than traditional crisp iceberg lettuce it was only the flat greens. Every Cobb salad I've ordered has diced chicken as a part of the salad, but instead a variety of meats/seafood were available at extra cost. As a La Jolla resident I've gone there for their former front patio brunch on special holidays and was always impressed as were my guests. I was surprised that two patrons who were there brought their dogs into the Mediterranean dining room and one patron placed the dog next to him on the long sofa. It has simply lost a sense of elegance and a special occasion ambience.“
“Went here for restaurant week this week, and it's just as good as I remembered! I got the carpaccio to start and picked on my friend's artichokes. The artichokes were still one of my all time faves! I got the lasagna as my main entree, which was flavorful and cheesy! I got the chocolate panna cotta for dessert, which is probably the best I've had! The service was friendly, and helpful, and patient with us gals catching up for 3.5 hours!! We also got lucky with a beautiful sunset that evening, but regardless of the time, the view is always nice.“
“Brunch here was very nice. * The view over looks La Jolla from inside the hotel. The staff provided great service and were very attentive. Blooy Mary's, Mimosa's, and the Salmon Bendict were filling and very good. Overall, it is a cozy and quaint restaurant to “
“I used to really dislike this bar, but in recent years, they got a new owner, fixed it up, and added a nice patio with a permanent food truck. I haven't had the chance to eat there yet because it's very popular food wise and only they were sold out of a lot of what I would have ordered. Next time. Bar is a dive bar, and the prices reflect that. It's a local place with pool tables and some other games. Looks like it would be a great hangout during the day when the weather is great.“
“While enjoying drinks and dinner with my wife in the lobby, there was a drunk individual who was escorted out by Devon, the security manager. I was truly impressed by Devon's remarkable composure and professionalism. It is evident that he is exceptional at his job.“
“Sat outside. Dog friendly. Nice turf for my pooch to lay on. Wine list is limited but the red blend was decent for the price. Bouncers did good job on carding, some people in another group had to leave bc they didn't bring their ID. Cool hip vibe near the campground. Easy walk and nice place to hang outside with heaters. Service outside was prompt as soon as I sat down.“
“We went during lunch time, they did not serve food, but they will allow you to bring food in. The atmosphere is great, lots of older people come. They have 3 pool tables for $1 each to play (bring quarters, but they have a coin machine if you need it). The music they play is mostly rock music, but you can request any song through their digital jukebox for a small fee. There's a small dance floor, and they play love music at nighttime (you can check the schedules on their website).“
“Right on the water — great location. It was a Sunday night, so not busy at all. Our server (Chris) was excellent! Salmon was a little overcooked, but still tasty. Brussels Sprouts were some of the best I've ever had. Overall pleased with our decision to try it out; we'll go back again.“
“Saw the Strombellas a Canadian band that really put on a great show in this intimate venue. Odd name for a group of you ask me. The lead singer was amazing with his powerful voice and engaging personality. A really fun night listening to most of their favorites. Sad that they didn't play one of my favs,Florence. Still a great night!“
